I've played S,A, & T sax and each is great in its own way. They each 'play a unique role' within music literature.
Edit: After collapsing a lung Tenor is the best considering it puts the least pressure on the lungs.

Go with contra bass! Unless you're really short. XD
I miss playing alto. It was fun.

I played alto, but was switched to bari one year (I have no clue why...I was and still am the smallest person in the woodwind section).
I played bari for a few years, but then they switched me to tenor because they realized that I wasn't growing.
Played on tenor for like...a week. Then took up my good, old alto again. We've been together ever since. xP
EDIT: I tried soprano a few times, but it made me giggle.

I'm playing alto (or at learning learning to) for jazz lab, but tenor sounds pretty cool. I want to try it out, but I'm kinda unsure since I'm getting lessons from my friend who plays alto and I don't want to offend her. So... yeah. dramallama

i've played soprano, alto, tenor, and bari and i think bari's the best but i only played it twice at actual events, anyways i mostly play the alto and it's my next favorite. i really dont like the sop or tenor but maybe it's b/c i like Eb instuments better...

Alto, they get the melody more often and they sound better.
