Keep in mind the Elvaan race for FFXI isn't the same as the traditional graceful Dungeons & Dragons or Lord of the Rings Elves.
They're more melee oriented and have a smaller mp pool than humes.
Closest in relation to gracefulness (Dex, Agi) is Mithra.

good bit of advice is just don't buy the x-box 360 and buy the pc version

Also, I will give a bit of a hint. =3
When you start the game, It is best to choose White Mage first, for, you can get to level 30 very quickly, and it will come in handy later, especially when you want a Advanced job, and It's also kind of useful when you get the teleports.
