Well I'm planning on cosplaying for Anime Fest in NYC this year and in stuck between 2 choices...
America in casual style clothing or Russia.
I'm thinking I'll save a lot more cash doing America and still be kick a** and a annoyance hero to the world! But at the same time I'm about a 5' 10" chick here. Thus my size seems more suited for Russia plus I would get to carry a vodka bottle around all day.
So what the hell do I do with myself ._.

I think Russia would be better, height-wise. And who doesn't want to carry around a bottle of vodka?

I would say Russia as well because not only would it suit your height, but he's a rather recognizable character. The casual America outfit seems like a cool idea, but if you're worried about whether people will be able to recognize you or not, I think it might be in your interest to stick with Russia. :3
It's up to you, though.

Well, both have their own pros and cons. Russia would be fun, You'd get To be all crazy and freak people out you're also Built better for Russia. Although with America you'd get to be comfy,still have an awesome cosplay, and be able to scream "I'm the Hero!". So yeah. I guess the decision is really up to you. Man, I was No help at all.

I'm pretty sure Alfred is supposed to be somewhere around 1,77m / 5' 10" tall. Not sure if this is official. razz I wouldn't call him short

=3= That's what I was wondering too.
Though maybe it's less that America/Alfred is short, and more the interpretation that Russia/Ivan is tall?
*shrug* It's just a guess though.

Yeah, that's his official height. But I have a whole spiel about
that, so I think I'll make a thread about it.
