Sorry I haven't been around much! I'm going to try to update this subforum really soon. Like, within the next month.

I'm actually not playing any campaigns right now, but I did get an interesting idea... Actually, that gives me an idea for a thread.

Want to tell us what you're doing in your current game, Cherry?

Went into some underground thieve's den for more information. Managed to tick off the boss there and we had to fight these two rangers.

God it was a genuinely hard battle.

Our Paladin got reduced from ~60 HP down to ~-80 HP in one turn. So we've got our first player death >.> His bloodied value was like...60. I was healing him constantly too. With all of the bonuses I've got stacked up, if I had only managed to get a healing word off, I would have healed him surge + 10d6 + 12 HP as well as have given him a +5 to all defenses. Just from Healing word. At lvl11.

If only I had used it sooner D=

Managed to win the fight when our mage dropped a large portion of the ceiling on the rangers >.>

My most memorable one I have is when I was playing with my two friends and our DM would let my dwarf fighter leave one guy alive, knock him unconscious, and let him wake up. When he wakes up, I would kick him in the balls and leave him there. It's our tradition now.

Well, now that we've managed to raise Dead our Paladin, not all that long afterward, we went to explore this dungeon that'll take too long to explain why.

His solution after he accidentally triggered the first trap was "trigger every trap we come across so we can't trigger them by accident"

Oh god, the amount of healing that was involved...

Healing Word was a Cleric spell I do believe back in 3.5, and a part of the Cleric class in 4.0. Can be found in the Player's handbook in both editions 3nodding

I was referring to the 4.0 one up there. I had a lot of bonus feats as well as a Paragon path which added more healing to Healing Word. Most people can't pull off that much healing with healing Word at my level ^^;

Really? I can't find it in the 3.5 PHB. I don't see it in Complete Divine or the Spell Compendium. Maybe it wasn't a 3.5 spell? If not, that makes me sad cause it sounds like an awesome spell.

Huh, really? I guess it was just 4.0 then.

Healing Word is a power all Clerics can use twice per encounter. It heals one Healing Surge + 1d6 at first level as a minor action. And the Cleric feature "healer's lore" adds your wisdom to the number of HP healed.

At my current level, Healing word by itself heals surge + 2d6 + Wisdom. All of my feats, my magical weapon, my holy symbol, and my paragon path together, provided that I lose 5HP and have used a power with the "Radiant Keyword", well, that's how I got surge + 10d6 + 12 HP.

After taking some more stuff, I give a +7 to all defences now ^^; Hooray for being completely useless for anything except healing and support~

Well, being a drow, I can crossbow things to sleep I guess.

Wow... that really is good. So 4.0 clerics aren't good at fighting like 3.5 clerics were?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 19, 2010 1:12 pm

They can be, we had a pretty combat-oriented cleric in the last campaign.

I just made my cleric extremely healing and support oriented. She can't do much damage, but she can probably heal the entire party from unconscious to full HP at least three times over~

Rangers for the win smile
Though, drow noble necromancers can be pretty kick-butt too.

My dad's character, a cleric, recently invented fireworks. He's also made himself guardian of all wine on the ship, which sort of makes sense since he is a cleric of Cayden Cailean (god of alcohol).

I remember the first time I played D&D. My father was my DM and me, my younger sister, and three boys who lived next door to us were playing the game using the rules of AD&D (which might be why I relate to those rules instead of the new ones...). I was a high elf cleric of Hanali Celani, and we were actually about to go and fight a medusa. During the time we were 'walking' down the hall to where here throne was, my father kept saying something about how this weird energy was in the room and I looked at my dad and asked him if I could roll to find out what it was. He nodded and I rolled a...17, I think, and my father said that this shimmering appeared before us and took shape and it turned into this beautiful elven woman. Turns out it was my goddess and she came to warn us about the fears ahead of us and how to stay safe before she disappeared, leaving us to prepare ourselves before we charged in to fight the medusa and her guardian...the guy-medusa-thing...I can't remember what it was called.

Your siggie just gave me the warm fuzzies smile .

I forgot to post about my second session ever (when I had to DM). The first one wasn't that noteworthy, except I always remind Taylor if he's character's getting out of hand that I saved his first character at cost to my character.
The reason I DMed was because no one else had any more experience, and I had the rulebooks (which happened to be a mix of 1E and 2E, which I didn't know at the time).
The lone player in that session had a character (half-elf ranger named Luthien, she always names her characters Luthien now), who was searching for magical dragon snot to heal her grandma. I'm pretty sure she knew that wouldn't work, but her character didn't, for some reason. We started the game where her character was entering this one town, I think it's name had something to do with chicken. Can't remember if that was Luth's idea or mine. She was ambushed by... monsters that I can't remember... and the mysterious wizard who happened to be traveling then as well helped fight them off. The guards let them in in the morning, but threw the wizard (Gyldyr, a NPC who always travels with the party now because "Luth" would be ticked if I got rid of him) in prison for being a drow. Luth, being CG, went and found someone (another ranger, a wood elf named Prea) to help her rescue the drow, and they all tried to escape, but got caught by the emperor's paladins who just happened to be there. Yet again, they tried to escape, succeeded with a little help from a paladin named Thane and the drow made all the paladins look like idiots by using illusion (this was when I realized how cool he is). They made their way to the dragon (had to fight a giant bat first), the dragon promised to cure Luth's grandma if they would go assassinate the emperor for him.
Oh, first they got attacked by those monsters again after visiting Prea's tribe and Gyldyr ended up needing to be resurrected, and when he was it freaked Luth out.
So they all made their way north, Gyldyr and Thane and Taylor (myu other player's character who had now joined) bickering all the way. Prea and Luth were fast friends, and Luth spent some time mooning after Gyldyr. Luthien is hopeless at riddles. They had to rescue a princess, which started with Luth getting kidnapped (her player wasn't there), involved a peryton attack and rescue by a guardian naga, Taylor being visited by a goddess, and finally battle with an undead naga, which caused Gyldyr to fall into a coma (again...). The princess cut off circulation to Thane's arm XD. Taylor got a sort of ring of undead control. They returned to the town, and Taylor had to convince the goddess to heal the wizard.
The next town they visited, Taylor almost had to battle Artemis. We never got to continue this campaign, since I considered switching to 4E when I found out about editions and then actually switched to Pathfinder.
