Hasidi froze in his tracks, sitting down quickly, was she speaking to him? He coward slightly he wasn't sure if he could run fast enough if she was to become a threat, and by the looks he would have to run past her to hide.
"I'm..I'm not sure," he mustered enough courage up to speak, his voice came as a raspy squeak. "What is this place? Where am I?" he held back tears his eyes blurring. He watched the lioness closely, looking for any sign of hostility toward him. What if she was mean?

Shushing him soon after, she settled down on her haunches a few yards away to send a motherly smile, one she always used with Tafari.
"This is the borders to the Kusini'Mwezi lands...a prideland..." She stilled her words and suddenly assumed he had no idea what a pride was, "A pride is one big family...though we are not related by blood, we live together in harmony and take care of eachother. We love eachother and make sure we are safe from any harm..." She looked away before looking back to him with a lapse of silence.
"Are you alone?"

He nodded quickly looking down at his dirt covered paws, the tears had come pushing the dirt aside forming long streaks down his face. "Alone," he echoed her quietly. The realization that he truely did not have anyone setting in. His tears came harder and he tried despratly to stifle a sob. He didn't want this lion to see him cry, didn't want her to be angry with him.

Her eyes widened suddenly as she moved to his side, a soft puring coming from her chest as she whispered soothing words to him.
"Don't worry little one, there is no reason to feel alone here..." Repeting it over and over, she moved to sit down and smiled to him, unsure if he wanted her to pull him to her warmth and give him an extra line to hold onto.
"I am Tisha, I live just beyond these trees with a large family..." It was a sort of soothing tone like a bedtime story, and as she continued her voice never left that soft brush, "There are many lions there, adults like me, and even cubs like you. All of us look out for eachother, though many of us are not related. Though we were not born into this family, they took care of us like one...so there is no need to worry little one, you will not be harmed here. You are safe."

"S-sa-afe, fore-ver? Pr-r-omise?" He choked through tears. He pushed his paws over his eyes trying to wipe away the dirt and grime. Taking a few long deep breaths, he was feeling better and able to talk. She felt safe. He wasn't sure if it was alright, wasn't sure if he was going to get introuble but he scooted closer to the much larger lioness pushing himself into her fur. He never knew what it was like to have a family, or a mother for that matter. But he knew when he wanted to be close to another creature.
"I am Hasidi. Do you have any cubs like me?"
He blushed and quickly looked down, maybe it wasn't right to ask such a question, curiousity after all killed the cat.

She settled down slowly as he moved closer and held him in her paws. He was so small, and it reminded her of when Tafari was a young cub, how she would hold him close in the long nights while they were still rogues. Seeing him trying to wipe the dirt away, she decided she had enough of his trust to start gently cleaning his pelt, slowly at first to see if he would pull away.
"Everything will be alright." She responded between cleaning, and she added on softly, "Just wait and see, Hasidi." It took a moment for her to get his second question, and all the responce was at first, was a soft, throaty chuckle.
"I have a son a few months older than you, though he is still a cub sometimes. Our queen, she has four young cubs, three little girls and one boy, all around your age."

As she started to clean his entire body tensed, but that feeling soon disipated, he was so tired, and she was very comforting.
"I can..stay with you right? Do you think? Play with others like me?"
his eyes brightened at the thought of being with this nice lioness, of being close to her when he felt frightened and alone.
"If not.. I don't..mind," he whispered more for his own benefit.

She still cleaned him even after he was done speaking, and when she was finished, she let her warm eyes gaze to him.
"There we go, you are all clean now." She had to admit, he looked so sweet when he was curled up and clean, and it made her heart putter a moment longer before she let out a light laugh.
"Of course you can stay with me, and when you grow older, you can become a part of the pride if you wish, or return on your own to the wild. There is nothing keeping you from staying or going, it is all up to you, Hasidi." With that, she slowly moved to stand, and waited for him to move as well.
"Let us first go back into the Pride lands, and we can see the queen and king from there, alright?"

A low purr rumbled through his entire body and he stared at her contently. Keep me please keep me! he pleaded with his eyes, don't send me away, keep me!
"Why would anyone want to leave you?" he grinned chessily up at her. He stood up quickly his eyes twinkling with excitment, "You mean I get to meet others just like you?... they're not mean are they?" his expression lightened slightly, but that grin wasn't going to go away easily.
"Are kings and queens like moms and dads?"

Tisha could only smile as the young cub warmed up, asking so many questions all at once. After he had finally asked the last one, she just nodded for him to pad next to her as she slowly made way towards the entrance to the woods.
"None of them are mean, or else I wouldn't really stay here...and yes, the King and Queen are the dad and mom of the pride...so they are like your parents as well..." She paused a moment and decided to ask something.
"Would you like me to carry you through the woods?"

"I... like you," he giggled and started along beside her, trying his best to ignore the pain in his hind leg. The limp wasn't terrible, but it did slow the little lion down considerably. "I can manage," he grinned from ear to ear seeming to look over at her, he was actually watching the woods, he wasn't sure what to think of them, not just yet.
He eyed the woods fearfully, but his goofy grin never wavered. His smirk wasn't going to fade, he'd found someone and that excited him to no end. There actually were others here, he wasn't wandering aimlessly anymore!

She eyed him as he said that, and a warm smile crossed her maw before she caught the limp. Deciding she would let him be for the moment, she looked and focused her mind on the path ahead. The woods would get darker, and because of his coloring she would be forced to carry him soon enough, but for now she was just walking close to him and picking out the path.
"I like you too." she finally said, her voice soft and warm as she returned his smile, "You have quite a bit of bravery, not many can walk through these woods without a shiver or a cry."
