Zen reached over and picked up Angela in his arms, know how bothersome those dresses were. "Better?" He wondered, eying Riddic.

Eying Riddic warily, he finally sighed and shook his head. Exactly what situation he got himself into, he didn't know. He figured he should answer, or at least attempt to do so. However, when he opened his mouth to speak, a rather loud, near-deafening sound rang out nearby, sounding much like they were on the inside of a bell.
Cringing at the sound, the prince now straightened up. He turned to Zen and said, "Looks like we will have to finish this conversation later." Not a few moments afterward, another 'boom' erupted from the same place.

Angela couldn't quite hold back the soft cry of pain when Zen abruptly picked her up. She figured he didn't realize the reason she couldn't move was because she was in pain so she didn't yell at him but damn. She was starting to pity Riddic if he had to deal with this sort of pain on a continuing basis.
"Better," Angela muttered. "Right."
And then there was an intensely loud ringing sound that caused her to bury her head against Zen and before she could even think to ask what it was, there was the sound of a large explosion from the same spot.
"I take it explosions are not particularly common place at your parties here?" Angela asked dryly.

Riddic shook his head, about to say something, but another 'boom' erupted, only nearer to their location. A fire had erupted because of it. Only a few moments later, Ares was rushing towards them.
"I suggest you start running right about now!" he called to them. From the looks of it, Xipilli (who seemed to have found a shirt) was trailing behind Ares, though not too far behind.
Riddic ground his teeth together. "Damn. I thought we had more time than this..."

Zen began running in some general direction, carrying Angela along for the ride. "So what is it this time? Nuclear weapons, crazy stalkers, demons, past girlfriend perhaps?" Zen shouted at Riddic, realizing this guy was way more trouble than he was worth at this point quite like another prince he knew.

I'm being carried around like a piece of luggage again, Angela thought. How charming. It was just as well though. She was pretty sure she couldn't run in those heels anymore.
And since she had a nice vantage spot, she tried to peer over Zen's shoulder to see exactly what was going on behind them that was forcing people to run away.
"I don't think Riddic knows what a nuclear weapon is," she remarked to Zen dryly.

Riddic rushed after Zen, rather confused at his terminology. He shook his head hesitantly. "It's a long story!"
Ares had barely managed to catch up with them, leaving Xipilli behind. He looked at Angela for a few moments, then back ahead. "I told you Xipilli is trying to kill me." He suddenly stopped, though, when Xipilli suddenly appeared before the group.
From his composure and the way he was acting, he seemed like a completely different person. Well, that was the perks of being possessed. Xipilli chuckled lightly and said, "Nowhere to run, Ares," he said simply. Although he spoke, it was a woman's voice coming out of his mouth. "Undo the barrier at once!"
Shaking his head, Ares laughed as well. "Honestly, how stupid do you think I am?" he asked rhetorically. "If I was the one to create that barrier, I wouldn't be inside of it, now would I?"
Riddic glanced between the two warily, then back at the damage Xipilli had caused. It seemed like the fire was under control now. He turned his attention back to Xipilli. "Goddess Amaterasu, please refrain from destroying this castle and putting innocent lives in danger. If you want to attack Ares, please do it where no one else will get hurt. There is plenty of open desert for such a thing."
"I would have done as such, but if you had not noticed, there is a barrier around the castle grounds, preventing everyone inside from leaving."
Ares spoke up. "Well, not everyone. These two lovely people," he said, gesturing to Zen and Angela, "will be able to pass through. The magic of mortals do not affect those with immortality, after all."

Angela blinked in surprise when the female voice started coming out of Xipilli.
"That is honestly one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen," she said. "Are you the one whose weird ceremony required him to cross dress? Because you honestly may wish to reconsider that. He was really annoyed by it."
So it seemed she'd taken over Xipilli and was causing a bit of a fuss over Ares, who was clearly not on her favorite person list. Though regardless of what Ares said, it didn't seem to be Xipilli who was trying to kill him so much as that Amaretto person or whatever her name was.
Ugh...Powers. They were all so bloody stupid.
"And I don't really think that an annoying barrier is a good reason to put innocent lives in danger with your goddessy wrath. This is why you Powers piss me off," Angela ranted. "You never think about anything but your own stupid ideals and don't give a damn about any mortals that get caught in the crossfire!"
