smile I enjoyed reading it too. I especially liked the way Aslan was portrayed because the characters had no idea who he was so they thought he was a predator stalking them the whole way instead of helping them out behind the scenes.

Haha, that made me laugh when I read it.
My favorite Narnia books are the Magician's Nephew and (oh crap what was it called?) the Last Battle. They're just too awesome. I mean, all the books are awesome but these two are even more awesome to me.

I liked "The Last Battle" for the most part, except that Sarah was completely slapped in the face by the author. He ruined one of the best characters in the series and I have to say that part of the ending disappointed me.

Artea smile I enjoyed reading it too. I especially liked the way Aslan was portrayed because the characters had no idea who he was so they thought he was a predator stalking them the whole way instead of helping them out behind the scenes. I love that! And y'know it's a Christian metaphor that's supposed to show that even when it looks like He's against you, He's with you? The Horse and His Boy is actually my favorite too, though I'm not completely sure why... And I actually really like the ending in the Last Battle. Any ending to any good book series is bound to be disappointing, but I like that everything was just gonna get better and better. blaugh And has anyone read any of his other book?

Lindsey B3 My favorite book was The Horse and His Boy, I thought that it was funny. blaugh That was my favourite too! Seems like most people find it they're least favourite. But I've got to say The Last Battle was by far the worst. So over-powered by message that it forgot to be fun.

I just found my copy of the set, but I'm in the middle of another series right now. I was at a doctor's office the other day and I overheard some ladies stating the C.S. Lewis passed away recently... It was actually around the same time as Michael Jackson and the others died, but with all the hype... it didn't really make big news.

...birds creep over tin roofs, like criminals with tap shoes... I Hear ThunderI liked the Magician's Nephew the best. Because it explains how Narnia was created, and how Jadis came to reside there.
And then i like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, because i like Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. And the beavers, and Tumnus ~<3
I got a little disappointed when someone told me aslan was supposed to be god. I dont like it with symbolism is stuffed in childrens books. But i know i might just be pissed because im not that religius. ^__^'' Did enjoy the books greatly thou.
And must recommend The Space Trilogy by Lewis, amazing and deserves to be read!
But Theres No Rain ...stain the glass with windows, extortionate and cold stare...

I think I also like the first two books the best, although the whole series was good. Several people told me the symbolism starts to get over-bearing, but I didn't really think so. Maybe since I'm not familiar with any of the Bible stories, it just wasn't obvious to me.
I really love the style of description in The Magician's Nephew for how Narnia was formed. And the four children in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe were probably my favourite overall.
@Tebasile: I started to read The Space Trilogy a while back although I never finished. It seemed quite good, I should get it out of the library again some time. I think at the time I had it out I was going on a trip so I had to return it before I was finished. It's fun to read the ideas someone had about space, long before any human had cleared Earth's orbit.

@GirlPuck: You should try it again :3 What i liked most is the second book in the space trilogy, im not sure whats it is called in english, but in swedish it was perelandra, that world got to me the most. And the Hross in the first book ~<3 Just the otherwordly surroundings made me enjoy the books far more than if it had happened on earth. The third book, not so much :/

I've read the Chronicles several times now. I'm having fun sharing it with my daughter, who got a set for Christmas.
@xxEteranllyBluexx: yes, he died in 1963.
Has anyone ever read The Screwtape Letters by Lewis? It's more overtly religious, but I still enjoyed them.
