It was hard to tell if Kess was blushing or not, due to her tan [she was], and the girl glanced up at Uuni quickly, before going back to her work. A short laugh, and she shook her head. "No, it's been two turns since Avery and I were that... close, which is fine."
Perhaps the two had residual feelings, perhaps they didn't, but the break up had been very, very mutual. Still, she tilted her head to regard Uuni more seriously. "She's a nice girl." A smile. "I guess I just don't want you two hurting each other."
Hurt me instead, she didn't say.
Why would you want to be hurt, K'lanmine?
It's not a literal meaning, Condoroth, don't worry.

Because of Condoroth, Uuni had half a guess that it would be at least yet one more Turn before Kesslan ever got a chance to be 'that close' with Avery again besides.
The last line, however, caused her to choke on her klah. She grabbed hold of the wall while she regained her composure and attempted to swallow down the burn in her throat that had started.
Her brilliant plan? Yeah. Out the window. So. . . what did she do now?
"Avery and I? Nah. We wouldn't. We get along like. . ." Oil and water? "Like klah and I." Which she'd just choked on. "Well, maybe that's not the best analogy, but, the point is, we'll be fine. What's the worst that could happen? We have rebel Kess to keep us straight."

"Uuni, you love klah." Her expression and tone were deadpan as she rubbed oil into her happy green, shaking her head slowly as she did so. "I think," and now her voice sounded flat out amused, "That you just used a far more accurate analogy than you intended."
Raising an eyebrow, she left it at that, finding herself both amused and pleased with throwing Uuni off-guard. The brunette was really... Cute.

Kesslan was definitely right about that. Avery would be more likely to choke her than to please her. But, that being stated, if she was ready for it, it wouldn't really be that bad. The worst things were those you weren't prepared for.
Like Love. Love was one of the worst ones. Betrayal was pretty bad, too. And realizing that you cared more about your friends than your life was another biggie.
None of those were on her list, so she was safe as a bug, snug in a rug. She grinned as she thought about the rhyme. Hopefully no one would step on the rug, she realized with a frown as she started on the second half of her klah.
"Can I help? I should probably learn some of this stuff now. You know, in case I piss off macho man come time I Impress." Hell, today, she felt so good she might even elect to cut up some meat for Condoroth.
Well. . . okay, maybe not.

Kess hadn't expected a response to her commentary, and so she laughed, nodding at pointing to the oil. "It's fine to get on your hands." Of course, she should probably ask Condoroth, but the baby green simply crooned at Uuni, butting her head against the candidate in response to her offer.
"I'll handle her wings, as they're still a bit delicate, but if you want to start on her left side..." This was nice, and they'd be able to finish before her lesson. Great. Kesslan hated to be late. She was silent for a while as they worked, as was her nature, and when she poke again, it was quiet.
"I value you, as well." Her company, friendship, whatever it was. "I rather like you." There, she was attempting to talk!

Uuni nodded. She had no issued getting on her hands, although why this was is better left unsaid.
A chuckle was her only answer to Condoroth's display before she did as she was told. She was careful as she could be with the young dragon. This was Kess's lifepartner after all!
"Good to know, Kess. Just don't go falling in love now. My charm and all. I know how irresistible it makes me." It was a funny joke as Uuni's humour went.
And Uuni didn't mind the light exchanges of words that continued from there. The oil was good for her own skin, and although she'd need to wash herself off later, it wasn't an unpleasant experience.
"Good luck in lessons," she said softly, and actually had enough daring to pull the girl in for a hug before she left.

Kess smirked before going back to her work, and was glad for the hug, which she took as a sign of affection as well as a 'good luck', before heading off to face Weyrlingmaster F'sey once more.
She'd catch up with Avery later.
