Uuni let her gaze turn back to Kess for just a moment. "Maybe not; i've known a lot of people I don't remember." It was clearly a challenge towards Avery that said 'give me something to remember'.
Kess wasn't welcome to play that game; not with her dragon running about.
Uuni laughed at Avery's last words. "Of course not," she said as she took a sip of some of her own hot klah.
"So, what lovely things has Kess told you about me?" Uuni's voice had obviously thickened and there was clear interest in the way she watched Avery. There was no denying that the girl had a wonderful body beyond anything extra that she might bring in spirit.

"Shards..."
As the conversation turned to flirtation, Kess stood with her almost cleared plate, heading back to the food area to get more, as well as a drink of Avery. Whether she did it to avoid the discussion or simply because she wanted more food, well. That wasn't exactly clear.

"Kessy? Oh," That delightful laugh rang through their section of the dining hall, Avery reaching out to squeeze Uuni's forearm. "I haven't heard a word from her. Kess never kisses and tells, it's one of the best and most frustrating things about her.
Leaning on conspiratorily, she addressed the other brunette's previous statement. "I, for one, remember everything and everyone. We haven't met." She sat back, looking amused and relatively harmless. "Though I do look like her, don't I?"
Leaving it at that, the boisterous young woman raised her voice, clearly speaking to Kesslan. "The iced klah!"

Ahah! So her reputation had gotten ahead of her. Well, this certainly made things easier.
"You have Kess's talent," she commented wryly. The fact that Kess had left didn't seem to bother her at all; in fact, she was barely seen to give a glance in the leaving woman's direction. Let her be jealous; it would make things all that much more mean in the coming year.
The next comment however, caused a smile to spill over her features. She waited until Avery finished yelling before she began with her next words. "I'm sorry, look like who?"
Had she missed part of this conversation?

When Kess returned she certainly didn't look jealous, setting down her older friend's klah before squeezing her shoulder as she decided to rejoin them.
"Enjoying yourselves ladies?" The blonde's smile was more than a little drowsy, and she followed it with a hand covering her yawn. She was used to the older girl's behavior.

Avery's smile was coy and she took a sip rather than answering, clearly a 'if you don't remember, then neither do I' as Kess glanced between the two of them, apparently at ease.
"Kess, if you didn't know, is a rather skilled card player. You two should both come to my table sometime."

Uuni grinned as Kess moved herself back to the table with Avery's klah. "Something like that," she answered with a wink, and then quieted at the lack of Avery's response.
If there was one thing Uuni found absolutely rude, it was someone that decided they weren't worth explaining something to her.
"I don't bet," she answered in a completely truthful tone. That included playing cards, or any sort of other ridiculous table like that.
The flirtatious nature, however, had gone completely from her tone.
Whatever sort of dislike she might have had did not show on her face, however. She went to her food in the same way that Kess had, letting the conversation shift to Kesslan and her friend.

"You don't have to," came Kess's friendly response as she propped her chin on her upturned palm. "I don't, most times. It's just a hobby."

Avery flattened her hands on the table, smiling as if completely undaunted by Uuni's suddenly cold tone. "No, the fun is in the the playing of the game, though winnings are nice. It's about presenting one front, and really being another."
A slight tilt of the head. "I think you'd be good at it, and I'm rarely wrong." Picking up her klah with one hand, she took two long swallows, emptying it and placing it back down.
"You should come by and take a look. We could... Continue our conversation." A smile and rub of the back for Kesslan and the bet-taker stood, moving away from the table and on to another group.

Kess's rueful smile wasn't quite an apology and she went back to her meal. "Avery's a nice girl," another idle comment before she finished her plate and looked at Uuni somewhat expectantly. What now? The blonde was about ready for bed, now that she and her dragon were in similar drowsy, full states.

"I don't need cards to do that," she said with a laugh that was rather loud and disbelieving. Honestly, cards took the fun out of that game.
"I'll pass." There was a lingering smile and she shook her head. If Avery wanted to 'continue' their conversation, Uuni wouldn't mind seeing her near her quarters. However, that would involve little talking.
In all social fairness, Uuni never wanted to see the girl ever again.
"Nice?" Uuni said with a snort as she finished off her klah. "She's crazier than you are." Which was, seemingly, quite the hard task to do.
Perhaps Avery's tactic would have worked on the majority of the people in the Weyr, but Uuni had no sense of adventure or need to know things that were 'mysterious'. If she didn't know it, and the answer was being hidden by someone, it was probably best not to find out about it.

Kess shot Uuni a slight frown, nodding and affirming her opinion. "Yeah, Avery's a really good person." And her ex, at that. As for the assertion that she herself was crazy, well. She didn't argue with that.
Nor did she try and sway Uuni to visit the tables. After all, why would she want to encourage some sort of interaction between two girls she happened to like? That was entirely counter-productive.
Getting to her own feet and gathering her dishes, she smiled. "I should be getting back to Condoroth."

What an odd girl. Avery didn't know exactly what game Uuni was playing at [one could of course, assume that the poor thing had blocked her ex-girlfriend from her mind, but that seemed a bit intense, didn't it?], but she didn't let it bother her.
She'd plenty of other things to do. Bets to take, lives to meddle, people to see. She would catch up with Kess and find out what the stable blonde was doing with such an eccentric sex-addict later.

Uuni gave her best sigh and stood as well.
For a second, she did nothing, and then she leaned over and let her lips settle at Kess's temple.
"Good night." With that, she withdrew and took her stuff back to the kitchen to be cleaned.
She had to catch Avery before she left the dining hall, and preferably without Kess present.

All Kess could do was blink in response, nodding as Uuni left, going the opposite direction of the weyrlings' quarters. The blonde cleared her dishes and went back to her weyr for some much needed shut-eye.
