I have recently started papermaking. I am doing it to make backdrops for my photography studio. These are my first few pieces: They were made from 100% newspaper... nothing else.

Sakura Nashimara I'm a traditional artist. Not for a class. Just to entertain myself. My school's art teacher has urged me on more than one occasion to join her class, but I have a class I can't and would rather not switch out that happens to be the same period as the art teacher's Portfolio class. I can't draw a straight line on a computer, but if you give me a pencil, pen, or paint brush, I can make something nice for you if you give me enough time to work on the piece. I'm very much a perfectionist with my art, as I am with my photography. It leaves me with a nicer product in the end, so I don't mind how scrutinizing I can be over details at times. I've done a nature portrait and a realistic human portrait using oil pastels before. I'm quite fond of that medium. The majority of my work is done with my sketching pencils. I write as well- songs, poetry, and short stories- but it's mainly to entertain myself. I do occasionally share my work with my school's writing club, but they're the only people besides myself really that read my work. My boyfriend is an amazing sketch artisit, and he used to always just use a pen. He wanted to draw, but couldn't find anything to use, so I gave him my sketching pencils and he LOVED THEM. They are a very versatile tool.

They are a very versatile tool. It's usually a rare occasion for me to sketch using pen. It's cool that your boyfriend has the guts to sketch using them. My artistic perfectionism usually talks me out of it since marks made with pen are harder to erase. I absolutely adore sketching pencils. They are very versatile mediums :] I want to buy more once I have the money to afford them. I have H, HB, 2B, and 4B sketch pencils as of right now.

If you have a community collage close to you you should check in their book store. I got an entire set of nice sketch pencils for really cheap.
