I've honestly lucked out and gotten some of the ebst parents in the world lol. We're not rich by any means but we live comfortably, but they support me in the stuff that I do and don't rag on me about my weight (prolly because they are also overweight hard to say) they've always been there for me when I try to lose weight and fail....but they tried the diet with me lol. I know that's all off topic but I can say I'm here to support anyone who's parents get on them about their weight or are just feeling down. I always wanna cheer em up, my pm box is open anytime.

thanks.
its only recently that i've been able to eat infront of my dad, he always gos on about me picking at food. its so depressing. its not really any of his buisness.
my parents arn't at all surportive. my mum has started losing weight after i started so no matter how much i lose shes always less than me, its depressing coz it feels as though i'm having to compeat against her. and all my friends are really skinny. i just wish i could get my motervation back and be as skinny as them *sigh*

u didn't post anything cry

Sorry, I hit the post button before I typed my text.

It might be that your mom sees it as a competition too. They say "When a mother is cold, she puts a sweater on her child." Perhaps she has some inner fear of becoming a "fat housewife" and pushes herself to lose more weight than is needed or healthy while projecting her fat feelings on you.

In any case, you need to have a serious talk with your parents. Tell them that while you appreciate their concern, you're trying as hard as you can, and its hard to stay motivated when your only reward for losing weight is being told that you're not losing it fast enough.

Don't even get me started on my Mom.

My Mom shoves losing weight like it's a drug or something. I'm pretty much the only over weight one in my family and she is makeing lose weight for she wants me too. Now, it's ok..I mean it's good to work out, but my Mom has make up schedules for when I should do what work out. She says nasty things. She packs my own lunch for school and controls everything I eat. I mean..it's nice for I am losing a bit weight..but it's going too far.

your mum sounds really over the top.
how much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking?
yoiu should only lose weight for yourself or a boyfriend, not because parents pressure you in to it.
hugs

You shouldn't lose weight just to get/please a boyfriend, unless your okay with the idea yourself. It is a serious change and commitment.

i only lost weight in the first place to try and win my ex bf back, hes always liked small rather than big. but alas that failed, so i kinda lost all motervation now, i don't feel like i'm going to achieve anything anymore, like theres no point.

and as for the mum thing, she probably does see it as a compertition, she didn't start losing weight till after i started, i think she just wants to be smaller than me so that she can feel better about herself. *sigh*
i get conflicting information on the weight loss thing from my dad more than my mum, my dad goes on about how i don't need to lose weight but then he makes a huge thing about when i'm eating snacks, and then when i go on my diets he makes a huge fuss about that to, i can't win with these people. i'm really looking forward to the day when i'm independent so i don't have people trying to control my life.

BTW, i really love this guild, its nice to be able to vent my problems like this 4laugh

Ah. Well, I still think you should seriously talk with your parents. Explain to them that while you appreciate their concern, you feel like your mom is making this into some sort of competition, and you find her comments hurtful. Tell your dad that his mixed messages really upset and confuse you. Furthermore, tell them that you have decided you don't want to lose weight and, since you're health is in no danger, you have every right to decided how to maintain your body.

If this doesn't work, actively flaunt the fact that you don't want to lose weight. Try stuffing your face with cheesecake noisily when your mom is around. =P

nah, that would just be spiteful and accomplish nothing.

If your mom insists on being a b***h about it, tell her that you feel no need to uphold yourself to her physical standards, and any choices to change your lifestyle (because any real and lasting weight loss DOES amount to a change in lifestyle) will be for you and nobody else.
