I have to admit, that's kind of gross >.>
But that's very strange...and interesting...I wonder what it is.
When I first watched it, I was like, "Oh my gosh, that thing just moved, ewww..."

In regard to the video: That reminds me strangely of a Venus Fly Trap. When touched on the hairs, it will snap shut, reflexively, to catch the protein it needs. This mass twitches in a similar fashion. If there is new life on the planet, I think it would be a wonderful view into what life truly is.
The article on the oil blob: Big algae bloom, I think. Cool looking, though.
