Izzy glanced out at the ocean once more, only a tinge of nervousness on the back of her mind.

"Three hours isn't so bad. If its a calm day it should be a pretty relaxing ride, right?"

She had grown up in the midwest, and had never seen the ocean prior to her flight. Plenty of her spare time in the last week had been spent on the beach and in the shallows, but not on a boat of any sorts. A little apprehensive, she set her suitcase and backpack down on the floor of the boat, and then slowly stepped across herself, holding onto a railing to steady herself. After a moment of looking around, she found a lifejacket that fit her well enough, and fiddled with the straps a bit until she was comfortable enough to sit on a seat, and looked around on the boat a bit.

Although she didnt feel steady enough with the rocking of the boat to stand and look around, her curiousity wasn't about to keep her from inspecting every knob and rope knot on the boat, if only with her eyes.

Javaid had inhaled a deep breath, his lip quirking as he caught a glimpse of Ophelia's stare from the corner of his eye. He had squinted, looking away to focus on the crowd. It was a nerve wracking feeling to catch a stare from anyone.

He had lightly mushed his hair as the announcement came to light. The Jazzy Tunes was the name of the vessel. It sounded respectable, if not colorfully characterized, and a little boat ride wouldn't hurt, would it? Javaid had contemplated it for a moment before being drawn out of his head by a comment. Three hours wouldn't be so bad.

"Hope it's relaxing, there's nothing like a rough boat trip." He had smiled somewhat towards Izzy before heading along up to the boat as well.

Ophelia lets out a small, irritated noise at the length of the trip. Seriously? Three hours? Her mood quickly deflates, and, grudgingly, she follows the lead of the others, handing over her luggage first and then shouldering a life jacket. She struggles with the straps and snaps for a good minute, her face twisting into some particularly rotten glares before the thing finally clicks and stays secure.

Ugh. Too tight. Anything that clings to her body like this makes the girl far too uncomfortable, especially as it gives away the girlish shape of her torso. She glares directly in front of her, trying not to look anywhere but where her feet are going to step. By this method, somehow, she makes it aboard without having to look at the water surrounding the boat. Yet.

Moira climbed onto the boat last, handing off her bags carefully before climbing onto the boat herself. She was steady after a few seconds and pulled a life jacket out, slinging it on and adjusting the straps. She took her bags afterwards, and moved them off to the side, digging through a bag for a notebook. She straightened up after finding it and smiled. "Let's get this show on the road, huh?"

Moira wasn't too disgruntled by the distance and the time they'd spend on the boat; boating had been something she was introduced to as a child, one of those few special times she had alone time with her father. She sat down in the nearest chair and flipped open her notebook, revealing pages upon pages of Italian. Writing in her foreign language always seemed more...magical to Moira than writing in English. She'd have to stop that if she wanted to get anywhere with the workshops, though.

Tapping her pencil against the paper, she looked out at the water around them. It was quite a sight; if nothing else, she was sure she'd be tanned by the end of this little vacation.

Once everyone was on board and the Jazzy tunewas unmoored Daniel turned to face his passengers, the dark skinned man smiling faintly and nodding to Jason" First off thank you for the assistance getting the luggage on" If he had to charter people at least his first group had contained someone one both helpful and useful.

" Alright ladies and gentlemen we'll be leaving the dock in just a few moments, you're free to roam about the tune and socialize amongst yourselves, you're all adults and I trust you can behave yourselves." They'd better too becuase he wasn't really prepared to break up fights or deal with sexual harassment issues. Daniel wasn't horribly socially awkward but he was massively outnumbered by strangers here and he wasn't the most physically fit man around.

" If you fall overboard, don't panic, stay still and wait for us to circle back for you. If someone else falls overboard someone will alert me, I will circle around and fish them out." Heroics on anyone part by diving in after the overboard person just meant more people to pull back in later. he knew this first hand having actually done it himself in his younger years.

" Any questions before we leave?"

Jason nodded absently at the thanks, not really thinking much of helping. It was what he did all the time, after all. But the questions comment had stumped him. He sat down on one of the benches, his computer bag between his feet. Did he have questions? He knew he had millions of them, he had hardly been able to sleep with all the questions rolling through his mind.

But for the life of him, he couldn't remember a single one. A faint flush crept over his cheeks and he dug through his bag for a book to cover up his awkwardness with. He didn't dare take out his laptop for fear that the wake might get it wet.

Girls were better at asking questions, anyway, right?

Christine looked up from her book to see that everyone had boarded. She didn't want to socialize just yet since her book was getting interesting. Shrugging, she buried her eyes into the novel once more, ignoring whatever anyone was saying. In three hours, she might get to the halfway point in the book and even finish it in a day or two once on the island since she had started reading while on the plane.

The last thing Daniel said made Chris look up again. Questions? Did she have any? Chris was never one to ask any questions and kept quiet. However, she was interested in what questions might come up. She moved the book closer to her face and pretended to read, waiting for someone to speak.

Oh God, oh God. Fall overboard? Felia's complexion somehow pales even further, and she suddenly feels that, yes, this place where she stands seem the best place to collapse into a seated position. She hugs the edge of the boat and breathes heavily at the thought of not being able to float, even with this life jacket on.

She's stuck between panic and a scowl as she huddles up against the rail.

Izzy looked around a bit more, focusing on the people around her this time, studying faces and trying to commit names to memory. She wasn't terrible with names, but it always took a bit of effort.

"Jason and Javaid were the two guys...Then Ophelia, Moira and Christine...Only five, shouldn't be too hard." She thought to herself, looking at each of them in turn. Izzy glanced at Daniel, and tried to think of any questions she might have, turning up blank after a moment.

"I can't think of anything right now...Maybe I'll think of something once we get moving a bit." She said with a shrug.

"Nope, I don't have any questions!"

Moira glanced up from her book, smiling brightly. "Let's get this show on the road, aye?" She looked back down at her notebook, starting to draw absently. The first few pages were all writing, but beyond that, one could see little doodles and sketches of (presumably) characters. She tilted her head, sketching quietly. She paused after a minute, and went on to writing around the woman's featureless pose. In Italian, of course; they weren't at the Island yet, were they, and how could she keep up her homeland tongue if she couldn't practice.

She paused in her writing and looked around the boat, eying the characters of this new play. She tried to recall names as she looked. Jason, Javaid, Ophelia, Christine, Izzy... Easy enough to recall. She closed her eyes and shook her head, going back to writing.

Javaid had rubbed his shoulder loosely. Three hours on a boat. Maybe there was something interesting on board? If there was, it surely wouldn't hurt to ask. The ferry trip across the way to the island had to have been taken before, and surely they had something. A pool table maybe? Mm. Pool had sounded like a delicious game.

"There anything on board? Books, foozeball, pool?" He had cleared his throat as the last inquisition had forced his voice to hopefully pique.

Daniel just stared at Javaid before shaking his head and heading to the cabin so they could leave. it was a logn but fairly uneventful trip, they hit one small patch of rough water but aside from perhaps a little stomach queasiness on behalf of his passengers it was nothing memorable. No indeed it was once they were on the island that things would start to become interesting for this group.

( You're all free to journal write about anything you may have said or done while on the three hour trip just remember no one fell overboard or had anything major happen.)
