Cakepwn I'm going to band camp for the first time this year... Any tips? Bring as many water bottles as you can. Try to ask your director if the girls can wear sports bras. It will get HOT. Wear light colors, and antiperspirant. Also, be sure to pay attention, in case your drum majors decide to randomly call you to attention like mine did. Hmm. Make it a memory you will never forget. Band is precious. <3 xD

ALSO, remember to watch your horn angles. A LOT, A LOT, A LOT. And work very hard on keeping your upper body still. Move like a ghost.

Drink tons of water... No flip flops, or sandals. If you have marching shoes or converse, wear them, but not black if you are out in the sun alot. YOUR FEET WILL MELT. Keep your toes up, back straight, butt in, and chin tucked. Always watch your horn angle, and pay attention to what your section leaders, drum majors, and directors tell you. Wear a hat, sunscreen (I wear spf 85.), and white socks. Black socks get hot faster, and make your feet smell worse (believe me). A hat (with a bill and of a light color) or a visor. If you don't want to get a farmer's tan, wear a tank top, or LIGHT long sleeve shirt (if it's not ten billion degrees outside). Come with a good attitude, and have fun! Try and learn to be the best, and you might end up that way. Oh, and, actually practice your instrument before hand so that you can actually make decent sounds come out of it. Someone who hasn't played all summer, even if they sound amazing usually, always will sound like a dying moose at band camp if they don't play before hand. Good luck! mrgreen

try your very best not to trip while marching reverse. I did last year on the first day and the whole week was messed up...
