Right now I'm reading The Prince by Machiavelli. I think this is something they should require you to read in high school your senior year. It's not purely boring, and the language is very pretty.

I am also reading the third book in Wicked's series. It's ok so far, has some good points but is really damn slow.

Reading: How the Universe Got Its Spots

--awesome if you want to know about the global shape of the universe and have ever wondered if it's finite or infinite.

Recommend: My name is Asher Lev. I just think every artist should read it--even if it's specifically about a Jewish artist, I think the writer really had a unique understand of the double edged sword creativity often is.

Angela I like things like that, does it talk about the artist curse?

It does deal with that sort of thing. In this case, the focus is on how his being Jewish makes it difficult for him to be an artist. But there were a lot of moments where the main character went through things that I've gone through as an artist. And several quotes I really like and think are particularly poignant.

I just finished the first book in Brent Weeks' "Night Angel" trilogy. Wow. Really. Well researched. Excellent cultures, social construction and politics. Great characters and I loved the dialogue. I want to next one crying

I'm also re-reading Robin Hobb's work. I love the "Liveship Traders/Ship of Magic" series, as well as the "Assassin's Aprentice" and "Fool's" series. Again, fantastic research. Excellent social, cultural and political structures. Isanely brilliant and intricate plots...read them, now!

I just finished the first "Wicked" novel. I found it in the children's section of my bookstore. gonk Not a children's book! Brilliant, but not for kids. I should read the others...

I'm going to see the musical for my birthday XD

lmfao it's very... R rated book rofl
the second one is not that good I warn you, very long, boring and never really gets it's point across.
I think it was mostly dealing with the US don't ask don't tell policy in the military... I'm unsure.

That series sounds cool Chee, I need to get that too.

OOhh, I have "The Prince" by Machiavelli sitting in my "to read" pile at the moment. I think I'll read that once I finish Mary Shelley's "Frankestein"

Soo... I've Just started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Amusing book. Found among the kids' summer reading table at B&N; I'm really not sure about this being a kids' book...unless you *want* to feed your kids zombie gore, that is...
