I know that it sounds a little nerdy and weird... but I name all my instruments. Who else does this? here are mine.
My tenor sax- Forte (the night I saw my brother's Forte show was the day we won the auction on Ebay so that was its name)
Alto sax- Spoon, that year my uncle gave me the nickname Fork when i dropped my fork during Thanksgiving dinner. So i named my saxophone spoon in order to match.
Flute- BBC (it stands for Boring But Convenient because I play it when I don't feel like messing with reeds)
Violin- Bob (i was humming Weird Al's song 'Bob' while playing once and that was the best I've ever played)
Bass guitar- Walker, Texas Ranger (you know, Walking bass line? that's where the name comes from.... rlly bad joke, I know)
SO, post the names for your instruments and the reason behind them this is just to see how many weird names we can come up with LOL

I named my Tenor Old Timer, because it's a vintage horn.
I have yet to name any of my other saxes or guitars though, but I intend to.

my old clarinet is claurice.....b4 i switched to sax
my alto is sally
i have 2 baris, Mr.Tiny and Ms.Tiny
it isnt that wierd!!!

i have no reason behind clarice either
but with mr.Tiny and ms.tiny....they are bari saxes and who wouldnt call them tiny?

I finally named my newest Alto.
I named it Screamer.

I haven'tnamed my sax but I don't think it's wierd, I think it adds character. >.< I'm going to marching band cmap in 2 weeks O_o, exoted but gonna get killed there crying

I got a soprano sax and I was gonna name it Goliath but my parents call it Waldo because when i was waiting for the UPS ppl to deliver it I asked, "where's saxophone" and they insist on calling it Waldo ><

I just came up with a name for my alto sax after having it for four years. I named it Robyn. As in Roybn(stealing) the show.

lol my section leader named his Saxophone "the legendary sax that got dropped" because it was rented from the school by one of the best saxophonist the sax section had ever seen and he dropped it the day he got it XD hopefully it isn't cursed
