"Here?" Kenth pressed again, feeling the hollow between the joints. It could just be a slight tension caused by stress, in which case it was nothing to worry about. However, as a doctor he had to make absolute certain and not miss any potential danger. "Did you do any heavy lifting lately? Or any workouts?" The doctor made a mental note of the twinge that Ethan spoke of, and temporarily released the man's shoulder so he could write the note down on the inspection sheet. Then, he took hold of Ethan's shoulders again, and pressed areas surrounding the noted point. "Nothing here? Just that one spot?"
With his back against the exit and the door shut tight, the doctor was not aware of what the raevan was doing outside. The most he heard was some ruffles that indicated the presence of the raevan, but he did not realize that his most treasured subject was now in Vyn's hands.

Ethan nodded, just that one spot. “I do have a personal trainer,” he responded, turning his head slightly to look at the white haired doctor. “Just to keep my in good shape as the ageing process takes its toll – mostly cardio, though she does do some weight lifting with me.” The training sessions were once a week, last night had been the most recently one. He mentioned that to the doctor – perhaps it was just a strain from that? They had done more work than normal as the following week his trainer would not be available. No doubt Kenth would simply order some rest and relaxation – that would be easy, except for outings with Vyn most of his work and admin was now done from home. The rush and stress of rushing around from boardroom to boardroom had slowly faded away since the introduction of a raevan into his life.
Smiling he tilted his head to the door. Better check his ward was still settled – not that she would be wrecking anything... But there was no harm in checking, especially since she'd been grumpy and hadn't been pleased by the wait. “Can you see if she’s ok?”

The doctor shrugged. There was nothing majorly wrong with this man. The little pain in the muscle was, like Ethan said, mostly due to exhaustion from physical training. In this case the muscle would heal by itself, and would become more durable---the wonders of a human body.
"Hm?" Kenth carelessly glanced over to his patient, not really paying attention to what he was saying. The check-up would soon be over, ending another tiresome routine for both the doctor and the patient. "She?" Kenth eventually looked up, finally realizing that Ethan was talking about his Raevan. "Oh...do you rather go see her yourself? Your tests in this room are almost done." In terms of experience, Ethan was better at the task, considering that he was Vyn's guardian. Kenth would rather take on the role of an observer, seeing the female Raevan looked a lot harder to depict than the one he had seen before.
"Or perhaps I should let her come into the room?" If the guardian was worried, that must mean even Ethan wasn't completely confident on what the Raevan could do if left by herself. Kenth was beginning to worry a little that Vyn may have been causing havoc out in the lobby.

Ethan continued to regard the door. The doctor seemed to be open to him just checking on her and since his medical checkup was apparently nearly complete Ethan pushed his glasses neatly up the bridge of his nose, got up from where he was being examined and moved to the door, reassuring the doctor with a relaxed smile as he passed – he was sure Vyn would not be causing any fuss, it was more likely that she was just floating around in a sullen mood.
When he quietly opened the office door he was actually quite surprised to be ‘sitting’ on one of the seats in the waiting room. She had a pleasantly serene expression on her face – contrasting with the moody visage that had been present earlier. He was about to retreat back into the examination room to complete his check-up when his mind registered that the object she was toying with in her hand was far too large to be her music player... In fact it wasn’t even a similar shape, rather than modern and slim it was a large and rather clunky looking jar. “Vyn, what have you got there?”
Looking p to meet the perplexed grey gaze of her adopted father the raevan’s expression dropped to an almost guilty wince. Ethan would not approve of her removing the object from its rightful place and if she was really unlucky he might even dispense a tedious lecture about the right way to conduct herself. However, he required an answer or he would probably kick up a fuss. Wordlessly she lifted it for him to see – the cloud still suspended in the jar and looking innocently fluffy.
Frowning Ethan crossed his arms. Why would his daughter be showing an interest in a jar? It was most likely just a medical decanter used by the doctor for something or other- In fact there was something in there, the slight movement behind the thick glass made him register that fact.
“Is that a... cloud?”

Kenth followed Ethan out of the door, his eyes trying to find the female Raevan. For a moment he was relieved to find Vyn sitting quietly in one of the waiting room chairs. The doctor was about to return to his work when Ethan's words alerted him, which made him turn around again to take a closer look at what the Raevan was doing. Vyn looked like she was concentrating on the object in her arms, but what was it? Did she find it in his clinic? The doctor could not recall anything interesting located in the lobby, unless...
"Is that...a cloud?"
Ethan's casual inquiry struck Kenth like a million volt bolt. The doctor stood where he was, but only for a few seconds. The sudden silence was immediately followed by a low scold with a tone so cold that could freeze hell over.
"Who gave you permission to enter my office?"
His face remained neutral, but even a child could sense the quiet rage that seeped uncontrollably out of the doctor. Kenth stared at the female Raevan intently, unconscious of the fact that he was judging Vyn according to human standards. Human or not human, his office was his own territory. Even if it didn't hold anything of large value, Kenth was protective of it...and this creature dared to wander in without his permission!

Vyn nodded at her father’s inquiry. He didn’t seem too angry at her discovery – he just seemed slightly curious. And so he should be! The fel essence was amazing to behold and Vyn was content with marvelling at it – the unique object was interesting enough to hold her attention whilst Ethan’s tedious check up dragged on. However, the doctor did not appear to be pleased by her discovery. Even before he spoke Vyn could see the fury radiating off of him: the clenched jaw, the stone cold gaze, the stiffened body posture. All tell tale signs that were confirmed by his snappish response that made even the expectant frei flinch at the cutting edge to his voice. Hesitantly she rose, clasping the jar close to her ample chest – not wanting to drop the precious object, that would certainly make the situation worse.
“I was just looking...” She was now half way across the room and approaching Ethan and Kenth, her dark eyes locked with the doctor’s icy blues, only breaking the connection to flick onto Ethan’s inquiring grey stare in an attempt to gain his support for her innocence.
Unfortunately for the rose Ethan was more inclined to agree with Kenth’s stance on the matter. Hands sliding to his hips and a disappointed expression on his face he sighed at her. “Dr. Loraine is correct you know. You shouldn’t go through other people’s possessions – even if they do strike your interest.” His tone was nowhere near as cold and condemning as the practice owner’s, more along the lines of how a fair father would react to such a situation. “Give it back to the Doctor and apologise..”
Reluctantly the shadow followed her father’s instructions, floating across the last few metres between them with a few sullen beats of her leathery wings and holding the fel essence out towards Kenth. “Sorry.”

Kenth was about to say something else, but Ethan seemed to be a reasonable man. Seeing his patient siding with him reduced his anger quite a bit, the prior planned explosive lecture came out only as a heavy sigh. Kenth shook his head as he took the jar back, giving Vyn another look of disapproval before disappearing into his office to set his precious fel essence back in place. When his head cleared up a bit, Kenth felt quite thankful to Ethan, who made the suggestion to check up on the Raevan.
Walking out of the office, Kenth locked the door behind him to make sure Vyn wouldn't wander into it again. The bitterness still persisted in him however, and Kenth couldn't help but lecture Vyn at least a bit. "I hope you will learn. Don't do it again." His tone was less cold, perhaps in consideration of Ethan's presence. Kenth sounded rather flat than angry now, trying to return to normal. He then turned to his patient---the check up was not yet over.
"Seems like your Raevan is well enough. Shall we continue the check up? There is only blood sugar test left to do."

Vyn was evidently pleased that the man’s rage had been quelled but at the same time her amber eyes lingered wistfully on the office door. She would’ve liked to have studied the curio further, but the doctor had made it clear that he did not want her fondling with his stuff. Fortunately the white haired man had also reassured her adopted father that there was just one more test to be done, therefore the rose would not have to continue sitting around in boredom for too long. Putting her headphones back into her sloped ears and reaffixing her moody expression she floated into the examination office after the two men. There Kenth could keep an eye on her, plus she would serve as a physical reminder for him to be speedy and complete the check-up hastily.
Relieved that his daughter hadn’t kicked up a fuss Ethan returned to the room where Kenth would complete his appointment. He was glad that after his interjection both the offender (Vyn) and the prosecutor (Kenth) had calmed down and the situation hadn’t exploded into a conflict. He didn’t want Vyn to play up in front of the professional man, but neither did he desire to see his daughter shouted at – his basic paternal instinct would not allow that sort of behaviour any more than a rebellion in the frei’s attitude.
Seating himself back on the bench-chair he tossed a smile between his raevan and the doctor in an attempt to remove any tense feelings still remaining in the room. “Shall we continue? I assume you want he to roll up my sleeve?”

"Yes, please do." Kenth gave a short reply while concentrated on preparing the equipment needed to draw blood from the man. He neatly spread the tools across the metal platform that had been previously disinfected by ethanol, and took a pair of gloves to wear for himself. He then tore several pieces of cotton, and placed a pack containing the needle and the syringe beside them. He motioned Ethan to sit on the chair next to the metal platform, waiting for his patient to be ready before proceeding with the procedure. Out of the corner of his eyes he studied Vyn, who looked just as expressionless as he was. Kenth wondered if the Raevan had actually understood what he and Ethan told her. At least, he wouldn't have to worry now that the Raevan is no longer out of his sight.
It was, therefore, safe to continue working with his patient. Turning to Ethan the doctor peeled the cover off of the syringe pack and skillfully assembled the pieces together. "Did you eat within two hours prior to coming here, Mr. Blake?"

Scanning his memories to correctly answer the doctor’s question Ethan began rolling up his sleeve ready for the cold sting of the syringe drawing out his blood for testing. “No... I don’t think so.” He had consumed a healthy breakfast of wholemeal cereals and a strong decaffeinated coffee this morning, but, glancing at the clock and doing the calculations swiftly in his head, that had indeed been over two hours ago. They were ok to proceed. “Mhm, I had breakfast but nothing within the last two hours.” He confirmed with a brief nod. He noticed the doctor’s eyes lingering on his daughter and he sighed deeply, feeling the need to defend his ward from his scrutiny – even if it was justified in many ways.
“She’s not normally like this... Today she’s just a little angsty. Now that she’s been given a telling off of sorts she’ll probably just sulk there in the corner.” He glanced at her again – she was doing exactly as he said, floating with head bobbing to the beat of her music no doubt pounding through her headphones. “Something akin to a streak of teenage rebellion.” He managed a polite smile before quieting himself and allowing the doctor to get on with his work. That was after all what he was paying him to do...

Kenth made a noise which came out of his nose that sounded like a grunt. Teenage rebellion, what a human way to describe a creature studied by human beings. The doctor nodded at Ethan, not bothering to argue about the man's statement and at the same time acknowledging his reply to Kenth's question.
"In that case, the test result will show normal blood sugar levels." Kenth added as an explanation, "The level would be higher than normal if you did eat something, but that is to be expected." Laying the man's arm on the metal platform the doctor began the procedure to draw blood. He firmly tied a rubber band around Ethan's elbow, and applied ethanol a spot below with cotton. After the area was disinfected Kenth carefully pressed the syringe needle under the man's skin, and pressed the switch at the end of the syringe (a nice form of technology so that the doctor did not have to worry about pulling the syringe handle himself). In a matter of seconds blood was sucked up form the man's veins and into the small container at the end of the syringe. When the container was half filled the switch snapped, and in swift motion Kenth pulled the needle out of the skin and immediately pressed another piece of cotton onto the spot. Then, with the other hand he grabbed a piece of band-aid that was previously prepared and applied it to Ethan's arm, securing the cotton in its place.
When the procedure was all done the doctor straightened up, twisting off the container from the syringe and shutting the cap tight. "There, it's done." He commented, more to himself than to his patient. Out of the corner of his eyes he eyed the female Raevan, making sure Vyn did not have too big of a reaction before dropping the container in his test kit. "The blood sample will be analyzed...it will take quite a while for the result to come up though. I will mail you the result if you would like."

The blood drawing was quick and painless, though since Vyn’s intrusion into the man’s private area Kenth’s already quite distanced manner had become accentuated until the white haired man was positively cold. Ethan did not mind though, as he had mentally noted earlier – the man’s job wasn’t to be friendly, it was to complete the medical tasks assigned to him with accurate professionalism and he was still doing that after being narked by the shadow’s actions thus Ethan could not complain. He rubbed the band aid, the skin stung slightly from where the needle had flicked underneath into his veins but the doctor had been efficient and already the slight irritation was rapidly disappearing. “Thank you.” He responded to the doctor’s swift actions, rolling down his sleeve. “Mailing them will be fine.” He got up, brushing himself down (rather unnecessarily) and looked to Vyn and then back at the doctor. “I take it we may leave now?”
Although the rose appeared to be dully listening to her music her eyes had still been observing the motions of the two humans in front of her. A twist of annoyance turned whenever the white haired man glanced at her – was he now feeling the need to check up on her, keep a subtle observance of her in case she did anything else that didn’t sit well with him? Originally she hadn’t been too bothered about the scolding, but now with the frenzied beats of a heavier track in her ears her lips twisted into a shape of slight contempt. She had decided, based on his over-reaction and her mounting dislike for the man that the miniature cloud essence shouldn’t be in his possession – it was meant to be a free spirited object creative and beautiful, not left cold and alone in an office or scrutinised under his analytical stare. Sighing she crossed her arms... There was nothing she could do about it though, but she hoped that the raevan, whenever it was born, would cause a ruckus for the man – just out of spite.

The doctor gathered up the equipments, listening quietly as his patient commented back. He nodded, both in confirmation and in reassurance. "The mail would typically arrive within a week or so. I'll also attach a copy of the accepted values for your blood sugar levels. If you find anything odd, you need to let me know immediately." Not that the man looked like he was unhealthy, but Kenth had met seemingly normal patients with high blood pressure or high cholesterol levels. Precaution was always a necessity for the doctor. "Otherwise, you can come back in 12 to 24 months for another routine check-up, but don't hesitate to schedule an appointment earlier if there's any illness." Kenth stated, in a very professional manner. His eyes shifted to Vyn for one last time, wanting to say something else, but decided against it. Vyn was not his responsibility, despite how unsatisfied he was with her manners.
"It was nice to meet you, Mr. Blake. Hope you have a good day."
