Chewing the inside of her cheek, Ely was still worried she had said something wrong. She was trying so hard to make friends. The maids said she would need to. They hadn't said why, but they had raised her, and she trusted them. Ely didn't want to mess up a chance to make a friend.
"Okay... I'm sorry, I should have been more clear..." Ely sighed, looking around the room, also checking for someone to bring food, or drinks. Her throat was getting a little dry, and making her want a drink of water.

The thin inn keeper approached the table.
"It seems my help is being lazy today. What can bring you two?"
She leaned forward into the table, her long silver hair tucked carefully behind her ears so she could listen to them over the noises in the dining room.
Santaro glanced at Elysynos to take the order from her to pass to the inn keeper.
"What are you craving, Elysynos?"
His voice was lower, just enough for her to hear.

Ely blinked a few times, mildly intimidated by the inn keep, but less so then the man who sat across from her.
"Oh... I could live with a glass of water."
She smiled hoping one of the two had heard her, over all of the noise.

Santaro turned his attention away from Elysynos briefly while relaying their orders to the inn keeper who merely nodded and swept away at a brisk pace.
"Would it be too much if I asked about you, Miss Elysynos? Why is such a shy a well kept woman here in this run down inn? Are you waiting for your significant other?"
At this question he glanced down to see if a ring was set on her hand.
"I don't mean to probe into your matters. Feel free to not answer if you feel uncomfortable."

Taking in a few more deep breaths Ely tried to think of what to say to Santaro. "Well... no. I don't have a significant other. I haven't really been around men ... at all in the past 50 years." letting out her breath Ely composed herself, hoping that she would be able to discuss her self easily with Santaro.
"I... well one of the maids that work for my household, said I should try getting out, and recommended this establishment. She suggested I stay here a few nights, and try out the 'social scene'".

Santaro laughed out of sympathy for her.
"I'm here for a similar reason. I haven't been out for a while, not because I'm bad at it...I just got out of socializing for various reasons."
Santaro watched as the water was set in front of Elysynos and the wine was set before him.
"Wouldn't a park have been easier? This inn is pretty intimidating."

"Well I guess so, but she said that throwing myself into it would make me get used to it faster. 50 years is a long time after all."
Ely picked up her water and took a small sip of it feeling intimidated now, wondering if there was something extremely wrong with her.

Santaro nodded and smiled at her, taking a long sip from his wine.
"You're very brave then for diving in here. After 50 years I'd run if someone told me to come in here. You're very strong."
Santaro leaned back in his seat to watch her carefully.

Taking a long drink from her water Elysynos thought about what Santaro had said, tilting her head a bit to the side, lost in those thoughts.
Biting her lip she looked at Santaro finally having thought of an answer
"Well. I guess? I'm not sure. I'm still haveing trouble obviously." She laughed, nervously, and then laughed more nervously at the irony of herself laughing... nervously.

Santaro nodded and smiled at her laughter.
"Relax, people will take you at your evaluation of yourself. If you believe and portray that you're a great person, it will come across that way to other people. You don't need to worry about being great with dialogue, just relax and let yourself speak. You must have lots on your mind after fifty years of being away from everyone."
Santaro set his glass down on the table carefully.

Ely fiddled with her earring, attaching the large circular part back to the lobe of her ear, realizing it had fallen off. "But if one were to say everything on there mind, wouldn't there be no mystery? We would have nothing to talk about if everything were out on the table."
She smiled, recalling some books she had read, figuring that they could be used for reference in her encounters as well. At least, she hoped so.
"What about you, how long... have you been around?"
