Sleetpaw purred and placed the vole next to Lunarpaw, impatiently waiting for her to wake. He laid down beside her and all but stared at her while she slept. After a while, he glanced at Nightpool. Memories flooded his mind and he sniffed. "It was all my fault, Nightpool. She fell into the river and nearly drowned because of me....." He confided. "I'm less of a Warrior now because I almost killed one of my own Clan mates...." His ears went down. It was good to get all of this out in the open but he still felt horrible about the entire ordeal.
Sunkit fell asleep the moment Sandclaw answered him. He was curled up into a tight, warm ball of red fluff.

Nightpool looked at him gently "No Sleetpaw" he muttered "She fell in the river on her own, it was an acident" he than drew himself up "Your no less a warrior or an apprentice if something like this happened" his eyes darkended. "I lose cats all the time" he hated to admit that but it was true "I can't dwell or think of myself less of a medicine cat for it" his fluffy tail cureled around his front paws as he watched the young toms exprisions.

Sleetpaw shrugged dismally. "StarClan will forgive me long before Lunarpaw or myself does." He mumbled, looking back at his sleeping friend. He sighed and then stopped talking, trying to think and sort out whatever it was that he was feeling. "Ha...." He looked back at Nightpool after a long time. "Have you ever loved a cat as more than a friend, Nightpool?" He knew that it was forbidden but Medicine Cat's were just regular cats in ways.

Nightpools face hardened as he thought about Shadoweyes "Of course" his voice was calm, he was a loyal medicine cat and would never froget that he could never have a mate. "You love her right?" he asked. His voice a faint whisper, he had noticed it a while back but wanted to know if it was true.

Sleetpaw looked at Lunarpaw and then back at Nightpool. "I'm not really sure what love is....but I'm willing to die for her. I want her to be happy. If she told me that she would be happy if I left the Clan and never came back, I would leave and never look back." His expression was completely serious, as was his tone. "Don't get me wrong. I love the Clan and I am a loyal Apprentice but if that's what she wanted, I would leave in a flick of an ear."

A purr escaped the black-and-gray toms thoart "My young friend" he mewed "I think that is love; Your willing to wait for her to wake up" he pointed out with a sly smile on his face. This young tom reminded him of himself when he was an apprentice, he was about to risk leaving the life of a medicine cat to be with shadoweyes when his mentor died. He knew where his loyalties and joy was and he chose to become a medicine cat until he joined starclan.

Sleetpaw nodded and then turned his attention to Lunarpaw, nudging her shoulder once, gently with his nose. He didn't want to wake her. Just touch her so that he knew she was okay. After a while, he yawned and curled up beside her, the vole between them. It wasn't long after that, that his dreams took him to a forest where he and Lunarpaw ran together, alone, with no one to bother them. He purred in his sleep.

((kinda late for me here but still ^.^))
stormfire repeated herself." how is your training comeing along" she asked snowpaw. Stormfire slipped down andgroomed her paws, licking away a dryed blood from her paws. the fresh kill she had earlier was particularly bloody. no doubt a clumsy kill by a fresh apprntice.
