The law makes no sense at all. I mean giving birth is a lot mroe painful than having an aborion (I haven't had an abortion but I had to have a D&C after my miscarriage) yet you need parental conset to get pain relief in labor yet you can get pain relief during an abortion without your parents even so much as knowing about it. And then the choicers want to say that these girls can't tell their parents because they might face abuse. Well what happens in the vast majority of cases is that the parents only become abusive after the girl REFUSES an abortion. This issue really strikes a cord with me because I got kicked out of my house after telling my mom I was pregnant because I refused to have an abortion. Then I sought prenatal care for my baby (doing the responsible thing) and was turned down because I needed parental consent!
This whole needing consent for an abortion thing has nothing to do with reproductive rights. It is about parents having the right and the responsibility to make healthcare decisions for their children because CHILDREN don't always know what is best for them. And I don't care if you are old enough to have sex and get pregnant- killing your child because you are scared mommy and daddy might take your ipod away for week is behaving like a child.
As far as the pro-choicers male bashing it is such a double standard. So when the woman is pregnant it is HIS baby when it comes to paying the bills and being there for her and getting things prepared for the baby but if she wants to have an abortion it is HER body. These women are claiming they want equal rights but last time I checked a male doesn't have the right to decide after sex has taken place whether or not he wants a child. And while I don't think men can really be raped, they can be tricked into getting a girl pregnant. There are girls that lie about being on birth control or poke holes in condoms. I happen to have a guy friend who BEGGED his girlfriend not to have an abortion and told her he would pay for everything and raise the baby on his own if thats what she wanted but she refused and killed it anyway. This was years ago and he is still devestated by it. I think he should be able to sue her for emotional damages or wrongful death or something like that.

That's a bit, "Males v. females" mentallity, isn't it? Like, because some guys rape women, the women need to retaliate against male-kind?
