I really don't remember much of what I thought. My family has always had a world map in the hall though, and I used to think that Antarctica must be simply enormous because of the way the map stretched it.
The only other thing I remember was that my brothers and I would joke that the world was doughnut-shaped; the south and north poles were the same, and the top of the map was connected to the bottom, and the sides connected.
I also used to think that China was on the opposite side of the Earth from California.
