be careful though. you don't want to be just a rebound. see what he does, how he acts, how much he talks about her (the ex) to you. if he talks about it too much he obviously is hurtin', and you might want to give him some time to work things out for himself. then again, if he was starting to flirt a bit with you before they broke up, then he was probably already in the single mindset and in that case, i don't think there'd be much rebound danger because there's less hurt emotions on his part.

Ah, love.
Be his friend first. Don't be a rebound, and- I learned this the hard way- when the right time comes, communicate what you want from him before getting crazy.
You don't want to find out the hard way that he's polyamorous and looking for secondary girlfriends rather than a serious relationship. >_<
