She nodded and coiled herself on the ground in the proffered spot, deciding to ask more about this fell beast later. "By all means, please tell me what you will. I do so enjoy learning about others, everyone has a different story." Muse landed on her a fer moments after, fluffing himself up and starting to preen himself while listening as well.

"Well I grant you my life isn't as exciting as yours" he said shyly, I have no special abilities. Nothing beyond your average painter. But I enjoy the simple things in life. Like finding a very ripe mango or watching an exeptionally beautiful thunderstorm. I love being social but for some odd reason I don't seem to seem much of anyone except for my good friend Vera. But I find contentment in it all the same. I love enjoying those really small beautiful moments in one's life. I guess you can understand that, being into art and all."

He curled his tail close to his body. The sky was now turning into an even richer shade of orange and pink. And it made his coat ignite with color. He turned to Illustria, to see if her color had changed to match the sunrise.

Illustria listened closely while watching the sun come up, her crystal scales picking up the hue's all around her and hiding their betrayal of her mood. "Art is a wonderful expression of moods, personalities and imaginations; no matter what form it's in. I think, if I settled on a cave spot, I would have it filled with all sorts of art that I would collect. Silks, paintings, pottery, anything that was hand made. But the cave I'm in now would be too small for something like that, and I probably won't be there for much longer."

"Where is your cave? Is it far from here? I would like to stop by sometime,"he said quietly. Besides the flaming color of the sun reflecting in her water like scales Floyd detected another hue of color underneath. "Does your color change with your mood?" he asked moving his muzzle a little closer to hers.

Illustria simply kept her eyes on the sunrise for a moment longer, feeling intensely shy. "Well, not really," she decided to fib, worried of any attempt by him to try and read her colors. "It just shifts all the time; it's like it has a mind of it's own." She glanced over to him, glancing at his own coloring; it was almost as if the air around them lied and had become water, the sun creating magnificent rainbow markings over his form as well. "What about you? You have so many bright colors, do they change at all for you?"

"No they never change for me," he said with a smile. He suspected that she'd lied about the color changing. He looked at the sunrise which was becoming less vibrant. The sky went from the color of fire to the color of water. He gently nudged her and asked, "would you like to see my home? It's just at the top of this butte. It's not really much but it's home."

She dipped her head slightly, hoping her ruse wouldn't fall apart. "Well, Muse and I have nowhere else to go today, I certainly wouldn't mind stopping over for a little while. Would you mind leading the way?"

Floyd gave a slightly dreamy look and leapt into the air. "Follow me," he called. Within seconds he was at the top of the butte. At the opening of a small cave opening. He wandered into the cave enterence and after a long narrow stretch of cave the cavern opened up into a large room. There was handmade matteres made with animal skins and stuffed with feathers. The cave walls were covered in elaborate colors and painted psychedelic scenes. At the side of the cave was some small steps leading to an opening in the ceiling, which let in quite a lot of light. "He turned to Illustria and said, "well it's not much but it's home."

Illustria had followed him silently up to his home, and proceeded to slip in to look around. "You can certainly blend in in here, why, I think I could match the walls should my skin deem it right to do so. Did you paint all of this yourself? It's very impressive. I don't think I've seen a cave painted this much before."

"Yes they're all mine," said Floyd softly, "I''m really glad you like them. I painted them to add a bit more light and color into my cave. It's so dark and depressing sometimes, especially living alone." His face seemed have flicker of sadness spread across it," For someone who appreciates art like you do that's quite a compliment," he said at the warm glow returned to his face.

Illustria nodded. "It takes a lot of patience to paint, especially with so many colors. One little slip and it changes the feel of everything. I've only been good with pottery; I can't say I have near this much skill with paint I'm afraid. You should be very proud."

"Thank you," he said touching his hand against hers. "Tell me a little about your pottery," he said plopping himself on the mattress., "I could teach you how to paint if you want." She was so pretty, he felt a little embarassed by her flattering compliments but at the same time he felt a great warm feeling from them.
