Lupin voicing King Arthur? That's so awesome. xd

I first saw Lupin in the Pioneer dubs, so was used to the characters that way and then I moved and our cable provider didn't have Cartoon Network, so I read the manga more and got used to them that way. Then I got some imports and got used to them that way. So I really have no idea how I see them to be. But yeah, after watching the imports they seem odd in the Pioneer dubs. And the FUNimation dubs I only watch parts of to see how they mutilate certain lines.

Yes, and he is the best King Arthur Japan could have chosen biggrin The DVD for Holy Grail has an extra where you can watch a bit of the Japanese dub. They choose the scene with the French and the Trojan Rabbit. The jokes are changed and very rediculous. I loved it.
Also, they translate shrubbery as bonsai... rofl

I'm the same with exposure. Adult Swim was my intro to it, so I do like that dub cast fairly well. I refuse to watch FUN dubs after being given a free EDITED copy of Twilight Gemini at a convention with dub only track...I couldn't even finnish it.
Now that I only watch the Japanese version I've become accustomed to the original voices and like them alot, but don't get me wrong...I'm no sub-snob. sweatdrop That's my fiance...he is totally one LOL

I've never seen that extra. I'll have to actually watch the extras on the DVD, since I usually don't really care about that stuff.
Bonsai. xd That's great.
I don't mind subs either, but with my experience with them there are so few that I can listen to. Even one character having a grating voice ruins everything for me. Dub only FUNimation DVD...... *shudder* I wonder how many people have been turned off of Lupin by the awful FUNi voices? Well, the ones new to it who began by watching their DVDs. I know I would be. Just them pronouncing the names wrong is irritating enough.

I would get Holy Grail just for that, but being such a funny movie makes it even more worthwhile. ^^
I've read somewhere that Mr. Yamada also did the Japanese voice for John Wayne. (or Clint Eastwood? My head's a bit fuzzy right now...)

The Japanese cast is best, but the TV dub is the best American one. I used to watch FUNi to see how bad they were doing (and mercilessly make fun of them while I'm at it, it's just so easy) but I haven't been doing that with the past few releases. I think I've finally hit the point when if I do it anymore, my head will implode. xp

While I wouldn't call myself a sub-snob, I think I'm halfway. There are just so many bad ones. I can certainly see the advantages of being one. wink

I suppose I'm halfway as well on snobbery. It's hard not to develop that over time though sweatdrop
