just don't bring up the subject around him so you don't let it slip out
general rule of thumb is this- you'll have a sure feeling when you're ready to come out. until then, it's best to play it safe and not reveal it
I once knew a friend who thought he was bi, and he came out right away. turns out he was really only curious, but he still gets made fun of for liking guys. sad.

Wordman has a valid point (and like so many others, i agree that this isn't whiny XD). I would only ever think about 'coming out of the closet' to my parents/family when i felt like it and i knew i was certain. If you really feel you should tell your dad about this because of our opinions then it's up to you if you think you're ready.
