As for a story...
Once my band director told the drumline to tap it. He said, "Do you know how to tap it? Do I need to come back there and show you how to tap it?"
This other time in concert season, we were doing a piece called "Movement for Rosa," based on Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement. Now, he has a fondness for "touching" spots in music (basically playing short measures as check-ups before a concert), and he told us "I wanna touch Rosa backwards." Needless to say he was very embarrassed.
