Mystic Starfire Isn't it and after reading this you can take your pick as to the cause. I'm going with lack of calcium. smile I don't think calcium deprivation is my condition, I had chocolate milk for lunch and a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Maybe low sodium? I unno. I just wish it'd stop hurting.

Well I have always thought it was lack of salt in the body. That's what my Mom always used to say.

Mystic Starfire Em Uhh Lee I've never heard that getting those is a result of lack of salt...
I get them really badly, too, and usually at the worst possible times. My mom used to be a nurse and she says they're from lack of calcium most of the time. Whenever I get them I just drink a whole lot of milk, and they usually get a little better, if they don't go away completely. Oh I never knew that. Well if it's lack of calcium that would explain it as I don't drink a lot of milk. Ahh... I don't drink much milk either, or eat much of anything that has a significant amount of calcium. I'd suggest you try to drink a glass or so of milk a day for a week or two and see if that helps it any... If it does, then you can get calcium supplements to start taking if you don't want to drink milk so often haha. Honestly, there could be other causes for it (like lack of salt) but the most common one is lack of calcium.

Mystic Starfire @ Zagadska gonk gonk I'm not that old to having that sort of problem but if it continues I will be seeing a doctor. smile You'd be surprised. It doesn't really matter if you're an 'old fart', we've had patients come in that are pretty young with that diagnosis to get medication administered. 3nodding
Then again, as Lee stated, it could also be from lack of calcium. But, then if that were so, I'd be having the same problem as I don't really like milk and you will see me drink any milk related drink once in a blue moon. 3nodding
