((Hmm... I'll try to make up a general summary that doesn't get too confusing. Heh.

I had been thinking of this as a potential sequel, but you won't see the connection until I give you the summary of the rest of this roleplay.))

((I have to split this into multiple posts. Depending on how the roleplay played out, some of the characters could have very possibly died. I’m just going to assume no one died in the summary. Also, there's also some leeway for the roleplayers to make up their own traps in between all of the events, so this is just a general idea of stuff that would happen. There's also some questions and mysteries that I was going to leave open to interpretation, so I'll try to phrase them in the summary without giving an answer.

SUMMARY Treasure Hunt:
Beginning:
After falling/finding the grave with the stairs, everyone falls further down than they think. There’s a clanging sound, which locks them beneath with no way back up the stairs, which have disappeared. It’s dark, but the Eurosian mage Firzen(who didn’t fall and got there separately) lights the areawith a fire spell and reveals himself. They’re in the catacombs are underground. There is no way out, and no one knows. And somehow Forest, who apparently didn’t listen to Shrava, showed up too.

Firzen mentions treasure and somehow, everyone decides to go for whatever reason. He leads them to a door, the first of many. He forces it open, and they all go in, running through a chamber with the ceiling caving in on them. The last person almost gets completely cut off, but with some teamwork, he/she makes it through.

The Crest of the Doors I: Old Chronopolitan Symbol
The next door has a crest that incorporates a compass and pocket watch clock design. With Firzen’s help, Haucon, and maybe Arthur too, the symbol is identified as actually meaning something. It’s an old Chronopolitan guard symbol from way before Haucon’s time, back when the Chronopolitan military was split into three and not five branches. Haucon figures out that the key to opening the door is a dance. Some dance of war and peace, that eventually melds into a waltz at some point.

The group passes safely, and the door locks behind them. At this point, Kevin suddenly appears and attempts to either kill them all or make them turn back regardless of the fact that Arthur, a member of the SeaGuard, is there. He can’t let them pass. He even activates a deathtrap since he’s ready to die to protect the secret. The deathtrap almost drowns anyway, but doesn’t effect Kevin since he can breathe underwater. Lyris manages to shoot a wall to get water to drain out, and somehow they convince Kevin to stop or "defeat him" without killing him.

There are two sets of doors, and the party chooses to go to one. Firzen goes into the other one, and Kevin, torn, eventually follows him. The party goes on and see another door...

The Crest of the Doors II: Tale of the Two Vials
The next door has an elven crest on it and two unidentifiable vials. Shane and Aidan manage to identify them as 1) a dastardly alcoholic drink that will make anyone drunk and 2) an acidic potion that will burn and kill from inside out if drunk. From the elven crest, Aidan knows that some sort of elven blood can help. In order for the door to open, someone must drink one and cross a very narrow bridge with no handrails. Anyway, someone who has a ridiculously high tolerance with magic enhancements from the party ends up drinking the alcohol and crosses, and everyone follows, trying to outrun the crumbling bridge. There's some potential humor in the drunk bridge crossing scene here.))

((Continuing on with the summary...

The Crest of the Doors III: Demonic Crest
Lyris, Isabelle, and Taint piece together information together about the crest on the door, which is emitting a dark aura. It is an ancient demonic crest that serves as a warning that warns of impending death and that the door can only be opened by executing a blood oath, some sort of contract to someone, probably whoever put the crest on the door. After some arguments, some of them execute the oath, though they don’t even know what the contract is, and the door opens to…

Diamond Sword
The party sees Firzen and Kevin, who apparently has consistently failed in stopping Firzen. Firzen has a sword in hand and thinks it’s useless and tosses it. It’s lighter than it looks, and he’s surprised too.

There is a legend about the existence of a great sword that can cut through anything, as if it were nothing. No one knows how the sword came about or even if it exists. However, for those in the field of sword forging, it is truly something that is exceptional if anyone could forge a sword of that caliber. The sword is called the Diamond Sword, which Shrava knows the legend to.

The sword makes a whistling ringing sound and lands in the center of the room with a light ring. It sinks into the hard ground as if it’s nothing, and cracks the floor, crumbling the floor as everyone falls. The sword is lost in the rumble as they land into another trap. Unfortunately, magic doesn’t work, so Lyris, Taint, and Ian work together to activate switches simultaneously to release a key to free them from the deathtrap at Arthur’s guidance due to his treasure hunting expertise.

The Blood Gate
Some people must be frustrated at this point or really curious about what’s at the end of the road, but there’s nowhere to go except forward. The inscription on the door has a riddle of blood ties mentioning different races and most interestingly the blood of the lord. Firzen figures out the riddle, and it ends up requiring almost everyone’s blood including a nonbeliever’s blood (Shizuru). They have to fight some demon whose wail apparently summons other demons. So, they do and win with the help of the Diamond Sword, which someone randomly ends up finding again in the middle of the battle.

At this point, someone makes a comment out loud on why there's demonic related stuff under Chronopolis...and the heck with blood contracts.))

((Almost there... Here on, there are potential different endings, depending on what happened with the characters before and what they said and did. Since we didn't go through, I'm presenting one possibility.

The Final Door
They now end up walking to a platform dead end. It’s in a large cavern, with a bottomless pit, and the path disappears behind them leaving them stuck in the middle of the cavern. From somewhere, the strange sunlight from outside lets a beam of light hit some section of the far wall, which they can’t reach. Firzen mentions something about the final treasure and the true lord of Chronopolis behind the final gate, and muses what Chronopolis’s real secret is. Kevin wonders inside his head why they aren’t all dead yet, including him. Firzen poses questions to everyone, making them think about why Chronopolis isn’t effected by the Zion gate as if it’s in its own world.

After a little, Firzen suddenly launches Forest across the cavern to an indentation in the wall next to the light. A barrier closes in on Forest resembling an iron maiden, and she screams. A path shows up, and Firzen goes across first to open the door. The hallway opens up to a circular area. There are four coffin like structures in the room surrounding a pedestal with a glowing orb. One of the coffin-like structures is placed so that it seems whoever there has a higher rank than the others, if those structures really are coffins.

However, when Firzen takes a step in the circle from the hallway, there is a blinding flash. During the flash, they hear, “Oh, my. To think you made it this far. You will serve me in death.” When the flash clears, the Lord of Chronopolis is standing over Firzen’s dead body. He mumbles, “Let the prophecy fulfill its course, and we will see if the gates will be closed.”

Next post will have one potential ending. I'll list some other minor possibilities.))

((The following sections depends immensely on the characters’ previous and future actions. Thomas may say different things, and he hardly responds with a straight answer. His answers almost always have hidden meanings or are ambiguous.))

The End of the Treasure Hunt
The coffins like structures also seemed to have disappeared with the flash. Thomas mentions that they shouldn’t be here, and he hints that he wonders why they are still alive, with a glance at Kevin.

There’s some sort of exchange between the characters and Thomas, where Thomas says that they are disrupting the time space flow, and that the flash was already a sign of that. They’ve also seen more than anyone in Chronopolis, including the Chronopolitan captains, who, except Kevin, know nothing of this place and its secrets. Kevin only knows the entrance and that it must be protected, but not the secrets.

Here are some potential questions that might come up. If you want, you could try asking some that the characters might ask, and I might answer them as Thomas. But don’t count on it, because of Thomas’s personality.

If they ask about the three military branches of Chronopolis, Thomas will only say that it was a very long time ago, and they don’t need to think of the past, only the present and the future.

If they ask about the “true lord of Chronopolis,” Thomas will also say that it is a thing of the past and that he is watching over Chronopolis and what’s left of it (The “he” in that sentence is ambiguous. This may prompt more questions from the characters, which Thomas may or may not answer. )

If someone asks who Thomas is, he’ll merely say that he’s simply the current Lord of Chronopolis, although there have been some hints that have suggested otherwise. Depending on how much each character knows, this may or may not seem suspicious. For example, Isabelle and Taint might question the presence of demonic traps on the path, at which Kevin will shoot them a warning look and try to stop them from asking without being discreet. If they persist in asking, Thomas will just ask them what they think and that, as long as wards and traps do their jobs, it doesn’t matter whether they are demonic or not. He might also completely expose Isabelle, causing potentially more drama.

If someone asks about what happened to Forest after being “iron maidened” by the rock, Thomas will just reverse the question back to the asker.

All the characters may be killed, have their memories wiped, forced into secrecy or servitude, or something else depending on the interaction between the characters and Thomas (aka their questions, yelling, reactions, etc).

If the characters are to be killed or memories wiped, Thomas will also explain that Chronopolis used to be a land of its own, but all that remains now is the city. Due to a catastrophe in the past, the rest of the Chronopolis land was destroyed and broke and disappeared. The orb keeps Chronopolis in a separate space for some reason. He won’t explain why, but will suggest that the name of the city may have something to do with it. If Arthur then asks about the treasure, Thomas will mention the foolish notion that Chronopolis has a treasure that grants wishes; the combination of the orb and a certain black haired brat of a girl and mention that it was already used once before and he won’t allow it to be used ever again. Too bad it can’t be destroyed.

If they get forced into servitude to work for Thomas, they’ll learn more about something called a balance in the future.

Of course, there are other possibilities, but that would have depended on what actually happened. Yes, there are more secrets than I’m letting on.

Epilogue
Chronopolis is back to normal, with no dark clouds in its skies as opposed to the rest of the world. The Eurosian attack has been diverted, and the city is recovering. A few months later, the world’s skies return to normal because the quest to close the Zion Gate has been fulfilled. But peace never lasts forever… since the Zion threat is now gone...

Of course, depending on what happened to the characters, the epilogue will vary for them. For example, if they happen to get forced into servitude, they might be sent on a mission or something like that. If they’re dead, some people will mourn their bravery in the effort to save the city and, as time goes on, they are forgotten.

((..and that's it.

EDIT: Ooops. Forgot this. Some time after the attack, Mage General Tia dies from an "accident" during some research.))

An excellent ending to an excellent story. I'm just going to clarify some points to my characters' endings.

Shane's Tale

After going through the rite in the caverns, including one segment where he volunteered to drink the alcohol [as it seemed he was the only one who had the stomach for such a drink]. Navigating the path wasn't too difficult, but his brain still buzzed from the extremely potent drink. After they made it to the large cavern where they encountered the Lord of Chronopolis, there was an exchange between the group and the Lord. Shane, still a bit buzzed, had spoken out and was promptly knocked off the side of the path to be left for dead.

Lyris' Tale

Lyris, who was still injured from the Eurosians' invasion, had regained some of his mobility, but wasn't as agile as he once was. He was mostly at the back of the group, due to his leg, and as such was able to defend the rear. However, his smarts and quick reactions came into play several times, not the least of which being when the captain of the Sea-Guard trapped them in a room and started filling it up with water. Noticing that the walls were shaky, Lyris used his sharpshooting to pinpoint a spot on the wall that would take it down, allowing the water to drain out. However, once they got to the Demon Gate, Lyris offered to make the oath. Later, once they were clear of the Blood Gate, Lyris was getting fed up with the whole ordeal, and fumed out loud about the demonic inspiration under the city, though it was just anger, not speculation. As they encountered the Lord of Chronopolis, he saw that Shane had been knocked off. But, before Lyris could react, there was a flash of light and Lyris was on his knees, all will lost to him. It seemed as though the Blood Oath was to the Lord of Chronopolis, and Lyris was now enslaved, under his control.

What do you think? I hope I didn't overrule anything you were thinking of.

((Nope, it works. Ah, poor Lyris and Shane. But you know... they didn't have to be enslaved or die. That was just one possibility, and I wouldn't do that to any of you without asking for permission. I really don't know what would have really happened because we'd have to go through the scenes in order to know. ))

Lol, I don't really know what to fit in here but I imagine Isabelle would have some hand in slaughtering off demons after finding out that all along Zion was working with chronopolis and she was being used (or something like that) And try to kill Thomas.

And Taint would just piss everyone off through out it all XD

((Alrighty. Shane returns and scares Taint so much that she dies Isabelle's hair some random color. Just kidding.

G, honestly, I didn't even notice.

Guess I should ask a mod to move this into archives.))

Erk... not sure what Shizuru would have done. She probably would continue to disbelieve all the demonic and magic stuff until the end and kung fu people. Because of that, maybe she won't even believe that Thomas is the lord and that he's some quack magician person. sweatdrop
