Annette had jumped up rather high to dodge the blast as it evaporated the ice she'd melted, creating a good amount of steam in the room. This worked in her favor for two reasons, the first had her laughing. "Your attempting to kill me with the virus I actually helped fight against back when I was still human." she pointed out, her voice echoing off the church's natural acoustics. She'd used the steam as a cover as she moved back down. "The plague can't withstand humid temperatures, hence the reason it wreaked havoc through out damp cold Europe."
She focused on the steam for a moment, using that nifty ability to control water molecules. The steam in front of her cleared a moment as she focused a high concentrated jet of water at the dragon, pressurized enough to be able to cut through the somewhat dead creature.
((Fun Fact: A high pressured water jet is actually being used as a prototype for a new type of surgical device, as water would sterilize the area and create less risk of infection ^^))

She'd indeed strike the beast, missing would actually be more impressive; this was the revelation the Lich had as he looked back to the ethereal inverted pentagram. He had enough time to do as he needed. The hand that had been placed on the tail would now serve a purpose and reveal his natural power as one of Kain's 21st: Bone construction and manipulation. Thus he'd shift the dragon's make at the atomic level, allowing it to keep its "bony look" while eliminating the actual bone from the equation, instead converting its body into wurtizite boron nitrate* just before the dragon's sphere would reach the next tip on his cycle. At that point the dragon would form back together and unleash a beckoning roar at Annette.
"Oh yeah...forgot about that. Well, more like I didn't feel like believing it. This thing is...well, I guess a Lich, but he's actually a genetic ********. Up on Ragnarok, the station in orbit with all the nifty SCPs n' Cannons, I created twenty clones of myself because, well, who makes a better soldier then me? Yes, I have trust issues. Anywho, this thing's both my 21st and my first. To call him the Alpha would be more correct; he was the beginning of it all." He'd literally set himself ablaze for a moment, making himself even more uncomfortable to add to the itching and the pain. It would subside quickly, his coat once again in tatters. Sure, he could make a flame-retardant coat. But he was lazy in the designer category.
"Anywho, I gave him free will to see what would happen. In the end I created something that had a serious loathing of conjunctions, and of me! So playing "Nice God" was a failure n' I locked him away in the heart of the station...which is more or less Hell. Or a piece of it at least. ******** probably escaped usin' Rozalin..." He'd sigh and shrug before tossing his burnt up coat off...then create a new one. Identical, all weapons back in place.
"I find it rather cruel that you decided to strip me of flesh and life overall just to say you had your own skeletal necromancer...but who am I to complain? I was given life, and like these vermin scuttering about the world, I should be happy with what I have. I have come to accept who and what I am, but sadly in doing so I realized how brittle I am. Thus, I sought out a master through your dealings on Earth, one worthy of my power. Upon finding Spiral...well, I believe you are aware of the rest."
He'd look to the dragon that was already charging another blast in its chest cavity and move through its shadow to its chest and shove his hand into the blast, warping the entire blast. It still had its black flame texture, though it also gave off a shining silver pulse. "You attempted to fight against it back when you were mortal? I suppose you lost that battle, did you not? For the sake of comedy, I believe forcing you to lose to it all over again would be terrific. But I will not remain in the past as your dearest daddy did...no, I am aware these times call for evolution and upgrades. Mankind itself is to thank for this...perk." With that, he'd seat himself back on his throne and watch with great curiosity.
Ever hear something dead burp? Annette and Kain would as what it was breathing was altered. Poor thing couldn't help but let out an awkward, hissing burp. Afterward it would roar lightly in pain. Its attention still on Annette, it would rear back a bit and dig its new claws into the ground and slam down to unleash another black stream, and though this one carried a similar plague, it was far from scared of heat...nor much else. This time the black flame would shoot into her direction and shoot up into the air to burn away at the ceiling, the black flame meant to use water to further heat it. Thus the roof would light up, as would the walls given the draco-lich would continuously spray the black stream all over the walls. The plague, so to say, was actually a dose of trillions of microscopic flesh-eating self-replicating, regenerating nanites. The miracles of science!
He'd keep tossing water at the wall next to him, though he'd quickly realize it kept getting hotter. He'd toss ice at it in hopes of a stupid flaw...and fail. Just fed the flame. He'd create an AP Field around himself...and nothing would happen. Somehow, he was still hot, though it was beyond him HOW he was when the heat particles should have been destroyed. He'd growl, then turn to the Lich with a mean point! "I CALL BULLSHIT! Combining Science and Magic is BULLSHIT! I don't even go that far you piece of unholy s**t! ...Good one, though. Annette, for the sake of Christ or whoever the hell you love, please end this quickly. I rather loathe the heat..."
He couldn't help but release a cackle meant to split eardrums as Kain "called bullshit." He'd almost go so far as to shake his head. "You call my honor into play when you yourself have been holding the hand of this whore since your descent? No, you will suffer. That heat you feel is form the nanites; truth be told they were released to look like a flame to symbolize their intent. They crawl about you now Kain to burn away at you; to make you...uncomfortable. And eventually much more." The dracolich was already charging for its next attack, though the black show in its ribs wasn't that of a flame, but more like something static and chaotic.
(( *So I was going to go with diamond, then Brandi stole it. Still though I could get away with it, then Tori stole it. Well, not so much stealing as beating me to the punch. So, I decided to use one of the two recently discovered materials that put diamond to shame. Wurtzite Boron Nitrade (w-BN) has a similar structure to diamond, but is made up of different atoms. I chose it because it's a bit more flexible then the other choice, and can withstand 18% more stress then diamond. The mineral (in the real world) is about as rare as afternoon sex when you have a 2 year old, a 4 year old and a 6 year old. Most important: It's still like a shiny diamond! ))

Annette had to dodge far to the side to dodge the new blast, she wasn't in the mood to deal with a new form of the plague, she did however have to agree with Kain's call. "I think that would be considered modern day alchemy, but none the less I"ll figure out what to do about it once this is over." The cliche pair of bat wings sprouted from her back as she hovered to avoid touching floor, or ceiling. She moved and looked the Lich over, ignoring the dragon a bit for now.
She didn't want to bother with explanation as she pulled whatever moisture she could from the Lich's bones, joints, and whatever held him together. Osteoporosis was a good term for what she was causing him, other then basically turning him into kindling, on top of that, as setting a flame to his legs proved this point. "Nanite attack the blood correct?" she asked, mainly to Kain.

If it had been moisture or anything else in the world that could be explained with any ease that held him together, then he'd of never been able to turn his head or speak as he did. What held him together was necromancy itself, he himself having been a summon of Kain's in a sense. Like Spiral, there were gaps between his bones though his were far harder to see given he preferred the true skeletal look. The fire on the other hand made him his like a banshee. He'd cross his arms over his chest and allow his bony fingers to touch his shoulders, soon turning himself into the same material as the dragon. This served only to keep him from breaking; heat was still very much a problem.
The dragon would stop charging its attack and turn to the Lich. Its jaws would open wide and soon it would the devour the Lich, allowing it to like within its chest cavity. Still, the beast was a beast and while dragons had been known to be extremely intelligent, one could only be so intelligent when being resurrected without a brain, relying on simple commands to survive. Keeping the Lich safe was its first order...the second was to obliterate, meaning it would begin to charge the attack once again. Once more the Lich would unleash a scream, one that would shatter windows. The static and thermal build-up was quickly effecting him, though he had time to turn the inverted pentagram tangible and send a shard into the sphere keeping the dragon alive. Thus, it would collapse around him, his spell wearing off and turning the beast into no more then bone.
The Lich would crawl from the wreckage, tattered and torn in attire and stand tall, head held high regardless of what was inevitably his defeat. "Those particular nanites are meant to attack organs by moving through the blood stream. They are mean to replicate as they move, thus allowing them to disperse a certain amount into an organ while still traveling in the stream, destroying white blood cells and red if they have the chance...given the size of them, they could easily wipe out a human body within a second. I am fully aware you regenerate, thus I felt the maximum dosage was required...but nanites are not only a weapon. I believe it was Kain himself, who at the peak of technology and its rise, infected himself with the Tempest Serum, a dose of nanites that acted as a means of instant regeneration for him."
He'd watch as the nanites died off with great pleasure and sigh. He hated the damned things with a passion and the Lich had explained why with perfect execution. "They're just tiny lil' robots given jobs like any other machine, really...they're just extremely advanced. Extremely stupid for a machine as well, hence their inability to disobey programming."
"Machines are not my forte, though necromancy has come a long way as well and I believe that in this era of computers and technology, it can advance beyond the dreams of anyone. Mechanical skeletons with regenerative nanites spreading a plague of deteriorating nanites...I would love to see that dream come to fruition. But, I am not stupid...I may have created an imbecilic beast that, in the end, was my own demise...but I am not stupid. No, I indeed know when I am defeated." He'd laugh a bit and look to the broken windows, out into the cold space he'd locked them in.
"We could go a round as soldier and mage, but I know better than to think I could summon enough magic to fend you off...especially when you are well equipped for my attacks. I do not believe you could destroy me as I am now, not with these bones and what I have infected myself with...but you could make life miserable for me." He'd turn his back to her and for once one could see his bony feet carrying him to his throne. He'd sit and sigh, releasing the magic around them.
"But I believe that if you further assault me, then Lord Spiral will assault you. You may be more then a match for me, but you, Annette, are no match for Spiral...at least not for now. And I know Kain has no interest in Spiral, but rather the castle he feels is his own. Return to your friends, Annette...they await you outside. I will await my fate here, on my throne...be it another blow from you or a disciplinary blow from my Lord."
"Ha! Sounds like your a** is gonna get beat! Don't feel too bad, though. Girl was well equipped where as you lost that...well, you never had it now did you? You say she can't kill you..." He'd grin, though it would quickly turn into a smirk as the AP Field quickly surrounded his hand, a hyper version he'd been working on that crackled and sparked. "Nah, this will obliterate you now matter what the ******** you are. N' now my little sister can do it...whether she shoots it out or punches you with it, it will destroy you. NEVER think you're out of Death's reach." He'd allow his attack to dicipate, then look to his burnt flask on the ground before looking to Annette.
"He's right. I don't give a damn about Spiral, his minions or what he wants to do. My job's to contain things not meant for mortal eyes...and reclaim a castle my blood entitles me to. All of you may be no match for him, but I'd spit in the eye of God if I had to. He is Evolution...and I am Perfection. I am at the end of the chain he travels. SO! Do what you will. I have a castle to decorate." He'd cross his right arm over his chest and issue her a perfect 90* bow...and choose to use the door to exit for once.

Passing him as he left, Rider walked into the room. "Lich! We must depart at once. The town will be remodeled soon, and I doubt you wish to be part of the blast."

The chain of events that took place was not at all what she expected. She caught on that heat might be a weakness to him if it was to Kain, but the dragon eating him was far from part of her plan. None the less it worked, so she wasn't going to complain, she wasn't going to gloat either though.
She copied Kains AP field, as she'd been hoping to get an idea of how it worked anyway, but finishing off the Lich was not on her agenda at teh moment. "Something tells me there are a few other things I could learn from you. And to be quit honest, what just happened was nothing more then a fluke. Killing you now would be like clipping the wings of a flightless bird, no point to it." She put her sword back on her side before moving toward the door. She looked up at the woman that warned Lich about the town being remodeled. She passed her wordlessly, walking out to the street to see the others.

"Sparing my life or whatever it is I stroll through? Well now you are the kind one indeed. I am not sure what more you could possibly learn from me, but alas my job is not to teach you. But, should you learn something from me by mere coincidence...well. We will see if that time comes." He'd look to the knew woman and slowly rise from his throne of ice. He'd let out a bellowing laugh and look to the bones on the ground. With a quick trick of the hand, the bones would form back together once again to create the roaring draco-lich.
"I suppose that is some obvious metaphor for what Lord Spiral intends to do to this town? As much as I respect and honor Lord Spiral, I doubt he will get very far...there are some things even Gods cannot have." He'd place his bony palm to his face and create a mask of half white and half black before summoning the tipless gloves back onto his hands. He'd climb aboard the massive skeletal dragon like a ghoul crawling up a wall and take a seat at he base of its neck. "Nonetheless, there is nothing left to do here; my hoards are vanquished and I have been bested. I will return to the side of Lord Spiral and await further direction...but know this, woman: I answer to no one other than the great Lord." With that, the dragon would launch a half-assed blast into the roof to force it to crumble down onto the once again shifted bones of the Lich and his pet. The wings of the the beast would flap, slowly lifting it from the ground, and it would dart of a mach speeds after a few moments of levitating.
