agreed. espically when your instuctor is a russian, she is so skilled and even as a teacher, pushed you litterally. when we did chest drops, she pushed on the area where they zyphoid process is to push your chest but not your shoulders

ours just held our shoulders in place if it seemed like we weren't getting it, it hurt a little trying to isolate just your chest, but i think i was holding my head wrong too, so that could explain it.

ATS is more strict than any other type of belly dance.

I used to practice ITS at Hot Pot Studios. Everything was essentially improv. It was all a big group following cues from the leader, and they picked using whatever reasons they wanted what moves to do next. It was fun.

Nadeau: when we learned the chest drop we were in position 1, where our hands were on our hips one way, and we were very grounded. I loved my instructor, she was exellent. i cried when i found out she won't come do classes anymore because it was always me and another classmate.

Another awesome way to work on chest isolation is to stand in a doorway and hold the doorframe with your arms and shoulders locked. lol Your shoulders arnt going anywhere in that position, so you have no choice but to isolate the chest muscles.

Nope, I meant what I typed. Hot Pot Studios teaches Improvisational Tribal Style, which is slightly different.

I'm pretty sure it helps with hip-work and keeping from bobbing.
