My mom aborted a child before myself, before my oldest living sibling. She says that it was her greatest regret. And when she was pregnant with me, one of her best friends, even her doctor said that she should get an abortion. But my mom had already heard my heartbeat and she had fallen in love.
Have you or your family been affected by an abortion?

No not personally. As far as I know, no one I know ever had one (for medical reasons or other reasons).

Neither myself nor anyone in my family has been affected personally, but it does strike a nerve in me. How did we as a society get to the point where we even have to argue about if it's a baby or not? There's scientific evidence that proves that life begins at conception, but people just don't want to hear it. What more proof does society need?

True, biology says it's a living human and person just means human being but it's sad how many people seem to ignore it or pretend it's something else and say that there is nothing wrong with killing your unborn child.

Exactly! I think they just don't want to feel guilty, so they cover up their wrongdoings with horrible excuses. Working in an abortion clinic must be the worst job ever. Who knows? You could've been killing the greatest President ever! You could've killed a child who would later go to med school and become a doctor!

That, or they never cracked open a biology book or a medical dictionary (would it hurt them to read one and get their terms straight?). Last I check-it's a human, person is a human being, and it's not parasite (those are usually worms or another specie of the host). Who knows what they could could grow up to be?

My mother aborted her first child when she was in college, several years before she married my dad. Aside from me, the only people who know are my grandmother (who made her do it) and the people who were at the clinic that day.
A past bf's mother also aborted, although it was slighty more medically necessary. I don;t know the details.

I've heard pro-choicers compare the unborn baby to cancer. This one pro-choice woman I know said, "You say the baby's a living thing. Well, cancer's a living thing too, so--" I just cut her off with, "Does cancer have a heartbeat or arms and legs? Can you see cancer through an ultrasound?" Ignorance is pretty scary.

Cancer actually isn't a living thing any more than your arm is. Cancer is not separate from your body, it is the affect of the cells in your body growing without regulation. You may actually be able to see cancer through an ultrasound, if it is big enough. Fetuses, however, are separate beings.
