ok, so today i was about to leave wind ensemble and i picked up my sax case and it apparently was locked and everything fell out, i broke like 3 reeds and chipped my moouthpiece and the best part is that its and alto and the only people left were the first 3 chairs of alto sax players and my trombone friend and they were all like "smooth" and i was like "oh jesus"... i feel so bad for saxy, has anyone else done that kind of thing?

Nope, But my friend has dropped her clarinet case at the end of band practice because she thought it was locked, ended up breaking a few of her reeds. But that's all I know.

i've dropped my clarinet multiple times and forgot it at the top of the stairs at a concert MPA once T-T (it's been through so much XD)

and my friend's brother once ran over his case with his car by accident 0_o (but the saxophone was fine XD)

Yeah, once in like 7th grade (now a sophomore) I tripped and my clarinet case flew out of my hand, somehow got open, and everything spilled everywhere. Thankfully, nothing broke sweatdrop so I was happy... (This actually happened twice in the same year. I know, I'm a klutz... xD )

That happened to me once with my flute, the clasp was loose and it just all fell out. Also happened to a friend of mine who plays trombone while she was getting off the bus. Now we both have cases that zip. XP

When I first started playing clarinet in 5th grade, I was returning from band(we didn't have class periods. It was pullout band. Tuesdays were woodwinds and thursedays were brass, if I remember right) and my shoelace was untied. I didn't realize it and trippe don it. Only time I've ever tripped on a shoelace, and my old wooden clarinet my mom gave me was in my hands. The crappy case flew open and she scattered across the floor. It was terrible! Mary was fine though. She wasn't broken anymore then she already was. The already messed up parts were from age. The keys were rusted and most of the pads are missing. It is a sixty-one hundred year old clarinet.

And then one time(this wasn't my fault) last year, I was out of school with a toothache that made it impossible to move and I got back and the school saxophone I was using for my second band had his register key ripped off. Someone went into my band locker and tore it off, or used it and tore it off. I think I know who did it. It was evil though, because I was left witout a sax for about a month and had to play m precious claribelle. Somehow, I, a wind ensembler and first chair clarinet, ended up playing the easy, boring third parts in one of the lowest bands. I almost died of boredom! Then, the BD decided to let me use another kid's saxophone(the one I think messed up my sax) because he was playing bari again, and it was all moldy inside! I almost threw up. I told my BD and he had me back on clarinet.

Last story. Regionals auditions. I'm all excited, not so much nervous because I'm not much of a nervous person, just shy, and I go to the warmup room. I've almost completed putting claribelle together, and I pick up the mouthpiece to put it on. What do I find? A huge chip in it! Like the size of a thumbnail! I was mad! I tried to play with it, but of course it didn't make a sound. Luckily, my SL's mom was the parent in front of the audition rooom for clarinets, and she was able to call her daughter so I could borrow a replacement. My sister had stolen my clarinet the night before after I had been practicing(she doesn't like me playing. So supportive stare ) and somehow broke the mouthpiece without me knowing. Probably after I went to bed. And somehow replaced the clarinet before I knew it was gone. She also had took the spare mouthpievce i kept out as well. When I got the replacement from another in my section, it didn't fit right, and so my sound was terrible and it wouldn't play the high notes. Of course, I wasn't able to complete my cromatic, though I did try, or either of my scales, which were three octaves. Yet I still made 20th chair. I was happy. I think my SL's mom(math teacher at my school too0.o) told the judge that I was having mouthpiece issues...

I'm done...

The head of my flute has a billion dents in it because I wack it against the stand when I go to put it in rest position.
