Yay for new hair! And a few new pieces of jewelry. I am totally in love with the Sukadu hair style. My avatar looks just like Cardcaptor Sakura. Though it is too bad there aren't many guy hair styles. Guy avatars seem to get left out of a lot of new items.

It's easier to dress a female avi though. More items to work with unless you want to cross-dress your dude.

It just gives you more to work with if you're so inclined.
Personally, I don't think my avi would make a pretty cross-dresser D:
