Quinn loved the feel of Vale's fingers, Vale's lips on his back. But he still wasn't sure he felt right. He turned around so he was facing Vale, curling up against him. Did he? Really?
He did. He knew he did. That had been his goal from the start, right? From as soon as he met Vale. That was what Mr. Q wanted him to do. But, when he thought about it, Mr. Q didn't want him and Vale to be happy together.
So were the two mutually exclusive? He didn't know. The feel of Vale so close; oh, god. He knew it was what he wanted. But he didn't know if it was what they needed. The two of them.
Any other day it would have been fine. But they had been fighting all day, and...their whole relationship had been strained from the start. So much fighting. So much pain.
But they had fun together, didn't they? They were dating. They were in a relationship. It was expected. It's what they did. It's what he wanted.
What he really wanted. He knew that. And Vale was showing that he did, too.
Ugh. Relationships were so confusing. He hated having to worry about the consequences. He traced the other godling's muscles with his fingers, lightly running them along his stomach.
His hands stopped, and he brought his head down, kissing against Vale's torso, tracing with his tongue.
He stopped and wrapped his arms around Vale, pulling him into a tight embrace.
"I..." He paused, and buried his face in Vale's neck. "I think so." He pushed Vale lightly, rolling over on top of him, and kissing him. He stared into Vale's eyes with a look of purpose, now. He knew where he was. He knew what he was doing. This was something he could teach Vale.
He could prove to Vale he wasn't totally hopeless.
"Do you?"

If he trembled, it was only the tensing of his muscles. Afraid.
If his heart was pounding in his chest, it was only out of passion. Terrified.
Inside, he shook, recoiled - reached up to run his hands up Quinn's arms, questing and assured and something cracking in him at each inch. Leaning forward, he pressed a kiss against the other.
"Yeah," he lied. And it was the truth.
