Maranan heard the boy's last words and groaned. He knew he had to get in there quick or the girls would tear him up. "Welp, now I got no choice. I'll see ya around!" He walked in and put an arm around the newcomer. He noted the callouses on his hands, and smiled. He would be able to hold his own against the punishment coming. "Word of advice, Never say that to these gals. So would you like an escort to the right place?" He looked at him with meaning. Which was let's get the heck outta here.

Now it had been said, there was no going back. Within a line, the boy had sealed his fate. What did he mean he was coming here to see someone special?! Could he not wait like the others until the girl had left for chores or food? Where he was not disturbing what little privacy the girls had here. Any illusion of innocence that may of been put on had been removed within an instance.
Sonya threw the book to the bed, and put her hands on her hips. Now she was annoyed. Part of just wished that the candidate master would walk past soon, but it didn't seem very likely. "What! Your changing your story already? Can't you make up your mind? Who is she then?" she fired at him.
On second thoughts, she didn't exactly want another person to dislike her. She rattled her brain with a quick way out. Even though she was still mad as ever, so brought another question the table, well room. "Don't tell your looking for a boy in the girls room?" she tested.

Some special, hunh? Well, Elora was rather certain that it wasn't her, especally as she'd never seen him before. So, shrugging, she yawned and grabbed her boots. She was needed soon to help with the laundry. Although the thought didn't cheer her any (and why should it?), she did have to admit that it was slightly better than sitting here listening to the other girls flirt or gossip. Straitening her tunic, she started toward the door, her rust-colored hair still standing in an untidy mess on the back of her head.

Veyes nodded, then looked at Maranan's hand for a short moment then shook it firmly. "Nice to meet you Maranan." He was just feeling a slight hesitation due to the feeling that the crowd was getting larger even though he had managed to stay far enough away from the girls' dorm. It was just something he sooner or later would have to get over.
As he heard the new boy's words he inwardly groaned only enough that the other beside him would hear but then he spoke out again in the direction of the newbie to answer his question. "If the Candidate Master comes along you will be!"
Then he turned back to Maranan "Mmm...if you are gonna risk it, I'll try to watch for the Candidate Master...but if he comes you gotta be in and out like the wind. It won't take him long once he rounds the corner." He bit his bottom lip because he really didn't want to be involved in any mischief that might get him on the bad side of the chores for the week. And with the voice he heard down the hall, he knew of at least one girl in there that was as gossipy as a chattering flit. That one he wanted to stay well away from because she'd probably blab something to someone.
He watched Maranan walk off down the hall and to the other boy then turned to watch the main hall as Maranan did the extraction.

"Trouble? Of course not! So long as you answer our questions honestly and don't cause too much trouble then we won't say anything, will we?" Nandeli looked around at the other girls. This one seemed innocent enough, not to mention he hadn't exactly snuck into the girl's portion of the Candidate Dorms. Clearly, he had good intentions, or maybe it was just a bad sense of direction. It was hard to tell.
Her ears practically perked when he said he was looking for someone important to him, and Nan fixed Westren with one of her mega-watt smiles. "Someone important? Does she have a name?" Unlike Sonya, Nan automatically assumed it was a girl. He was far too young, not to mention far too innocent looking, to be looking for an important male counterpart. "She could be here, you know. You'll have to give us more of a description than just important. Anyone here could be important!"
The arrival of the second boy made her frown, especially when he threatened to take her target away from her. "He doesn't need an escort," she protested, "We're already going to help him find who he's looking for, especially since it's a girl. Unless you're in here looking for a girl too?" Or maybe he was being nice just to secret the new boy off to some dark corner! The fiend!

“ Never say what? What did I say?”
Now Westren was officially confused. He didn’t recall saying anything offensive, so he didn’t understand why he was supposed to be afraid of the older girls. Granted, they were a bit pushy and nosy, but that wasn’t scary, was it?
Spluttering a bit at one of the girl’s comments, Westren couldn’t help but feel a bit stupid, a feeling he distinctly disliked. He decided to set the story straight once and for all.
“ I asked a boy for directions to boy Candidates’ area, for obvious reasons, but I also asked for directions to the girl Candidate’s area so I could look for my sister. Quinnel, my sister, is a Candidate – or she was, last I heard from her – and I’m looking for her.” Pausing to take a breath, he looked around to see if he had made himself clear. “ Quinnel has auburn hair and some freckles… um, she's also a Harper Apprentice."
