Name: Allende ( Al-lend-dae) Character Ref Song(s): Rascal Flatts, Unstoppable along with Love and Theft, Runaway Age: 16 Sex: Female Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Craft: N/A Rank: N/A Physical Description:
Despite being all of 16 turns, Alle towers over all her male siblings and her father at an imposing six feet even. Though she is proportionate enough to carry the height, she is still teased for it and does her homely best to stoop her shoulders to lessen the effect. Her hair is a dry, oftentimes frizzled, mess of wheat colored blond locks that she usually keeps loosely tied at the nape of her neck. A wide brimmed straw hat usually tops her off, shading her bright blue eyes from both the sun and view. Perversely, she favors light colored clothing that fits her angular frame loosely. Though she knows that her favored patterns of vertical stripes run counter to her attempts to minimize her height, she shows no sign of changing and appears to be using such choices as a passive aggressive rebellion against the older male siblings that tease her, as they cannot do anything to her physically, but she can certainly dress to remind them of that fact while appearing to cow tow to them for the sake of her parents.
Personality:
A first blush, Allende would strike the viewer as a shy wallflower with scarcely a spine to stand with. She is careful not to meet the eyes of strangers, and goes out of her way to be accommodating when circumstances call for it. A second look, however, taken when she is out form under the eye of her parents, tells a far different story.
This tall holdergirl is far from plain on the inside, and as a child, the traveling teaching Harper twice complimented her parents on her mental aptitude during her childhood lessons. Ironically, the compliment was followed by the heart breaking admission that had she been born a boy, the Harper would have liked to have her come with him to the Harper Hall for training before being sent out to teach others all across Pern. Had she known how close she was to her dreams then, Alle would have likely festered a deep dislike for masculinity and the patriarchal society that her world revolved in. As it stood, she was hardly eight turns at the time, and the exchange faded into her memories... replaced by other childhood memories. To this day she doesn't know the source of her deep discontent with her lot in life, but she can scarcely stop it.
Still, Alle has big dreams and high hopes for her personal future. She's considered apprenticing herself to one of the local craftsmen, but has thus far resisted making a commitment for fear of losing out on her true ambitions. Alle wishes to travel to width and breadth of Pern, be it on foot or by ship, she is completely willing to set out by any means necessary to reach her goal. Reality, however, keeps her wandering heart safe and secure in he parent's cothold outside of Lemos, where she patiently bides her time and her limited resources, exercising a resiliency she never would have thought herself capable of when dealing with the day to day monotony of her life.
History:
Raised believing that Thread would never threaten Pern again, Allende could almost be considered privileged in the sense that her childhood was uncomplicated and straight forward, despite being wrong. She was never faced with a methodology different from what she learned as a child, and has been the recipient of years of solid parenting from both her mother and her father. Close mouthed and ignorant as the pair might be, no one can fault the woodsmith or his homemaker wife when it comes to providing a steady home for their family.
So Alle's wanderlust comes as something of a surprise for the earthy folk who birthed her. She's never fooled them into complacency (as she has her siblings) and her father in particular watches out for her whenever strangers visit the Cothold. He is well aware that his youngest will take the first opportunity fate grants her, and in his own way, he both wishes her well, and seeks to keep her safe. This conflict within his heart tends to lead to some frustrating times for both father and daughter, leaving one feeling angry and confused, and the other just disappointed. Alle senses that flying free is the only way she can be happy, but she has yet to find the words to express this to her parents.
Her Search and subsequent arrival at Ista Weyr shall be left to future role play with a PC Search Rider.

Name: Hallison Age: 17 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Craft: N/A Rank: N/A
Physical Description: A large lad at 6'4", Hallison does not tower over all boys his age, but between his imposing young muscles and ponderous movement, he often appears larger then he really is. His mouse brown hair is wispy and ill kept, and when his mother remembers, she cut's it down to a rider-like crew cut, which only serves to accentuate his hard chiseled features. His eyes are nothing to lose yourself in, though it is impossible to detect dishonestly or guile within them. Oftentimes his wide set brown eyes have been compared to those of a loyal woodscanine, or a well bred riding runner. He has kept his body in shape despite his size, and is often used by the women of the lower caverns as a sort of pack horse when they need to shuffle around the larger kettles and heavier furniture.
Personality: Hallison may at first appear a tough nut to crack, since he chooses to remain silent most of the time, but the truth of it is that he only says exactly what he wants to say when he wants to say it. There is no give or take with this boy, at least not in matters relating to justice or duty. Even his enemies among the Weyr bully boys will admit that you will never catch him in a lie, even if it means innumerable stripes across his back by the authorities. He would rather receive punishment then turn in a comrade, even if that comrade is the one supposed to be punished. This steadfast and dependable behavior has earned him a small group of loyal friends in return. This is not to say that he would not gainsay a comrade that has done wrong, merely that he will not willfully turn that comrade for punishment if he is the one singled out. Despite that, there is only one thing that could force him to renounce a comrade, and this is if that friend committed a heinous act beyond any form of reconciliation. To that end, his deeply rooted sense of right and wrong would step up to the plate, and he would force himself to cast aside a friendship in favoring of upholding his own basic moral integrity. That way of thinking also translates to a larger group environment, wherein he would either refuse to participate in minor unsavory disturbances, or renounce them all and report them to the higher-ups. Unfortunately, just because he is guileless does not mean he is immune to it's effects. He falls for pranks often, with the dirtier ones being the easiest to catch him in. When asked why he didn't see a particularly nasty one coming, his only response is that he didn't think the prankster would go through with it. Only time will tell if Hallison will outgrow his childhood naivety, since he is certainly not lacking in the intelligence department.
History: Trying to understand why Hallison is the way he is reminds the inquirer of pulling teeth. His history was not necessarily a traumatic or dramatic one, but he certainly saw his fair share of injustices visited upon his weyrfolk kin. His mother was a simple holdwoman turned drudge among the kitchen staff, and his father was an unknown brownrider a little too far gone into his wine. These days he is hard pressed to even discuss his blood parentage, mostly since he was fostered early on and considers his foster mother to be his true mother. Some think he might actually be ashamed of his parentage, and maybe even a little angry at his father for being so weak to be a slave to alcohol, but Hallison never substantiates such rumors.
His foster mother is a giant of a assistant cook among the kitchen staff, though at the time she was fostering Hallison as a youngster, she was a lowly undercook. Her time may have mostly been spent in the kitchens, but she brought Hallison with her as soon as he could toddle, and between herself and the rest of the women of the kitchens, he was well looked after growing up.
Once he was big enough to be put to work, he quickly found his niche with the other male drudges, fetching and carrying as need be, along with restocking the kitchen pantry from Stores when needed. Around that time was when he met little Demitarnin, the small boy was being picked on by a group of bigger weyrbrats, and Hallison (though not much larger then the older boys) pretty much roared in with his fists flying and scattered them. Surprise was on his side, though he scared little Demi pretty bad while he was at it, but the bully boys never stopped running until they were out of sight. Encouraged by his apparent success, he pulled the smaller boy to his feet and dragged him back to the kitchens for 'safe-keeping,' lest the bully boys return. Demitarnin did not have much say in the matter, but the youngster was quick of wit and was pleased to discover his new 'friend' was something like a portable buffer against the bullies that had been tormenting him. The two eventually became inseparable, and Hallison acquired something of a mischievous reputation since between them, he was always the one actually seen skulking about between pranks.
During one of said pranks (against the very same bully boys) the pair came across Lesifol. Lesi, as he preferred to be called, was something unlike any other boy in the weyr. He enjoyed the company of girls (for starters) liked to let them braid his hair (which it had been when the others had found him) and he had a bad habit of taunting the ones who taunted him. Since he was very slight and effeminate, Lesi never got out of those taunting matches unscathed, and it was one of those matches that Hallison and Demi interrupted when they attempted to toss old baskets of stinky firestone ash at their arch nemeses. Naturally, Hallison noticed right away that the group of arguing boys only had one target, and before they could even launch their attack, he dove right in to grab the slender youth after one of the bully's threw a punch. Demi was scandalized (since he didn't have much thought for a 'useless' scamp like Lesi) but he couldn't stop Hallison from 'doing what was right.'
Lesifol was not necessarily pleased by their methods, and he let his two 'rescuers' know that in no uncertain terms, but he was thankful. Demi and Lesi did not get along very well at the get go, but the pair couldn't argue the fact that they had both been rescued by Hallison at some point, and the big boy was telling Demitarnin that Lesi would have to stick with them for the time being until the bullies found another likely target.
That 'time being' turned into three full turns of endless pranks and counter pranks, wherein Lesi and Demi actually formed a working partnership that combined Demi's quick wit and Lesi's creativity. Hallison was content to be the brawn of the outfit, since keeping his comrades safe was all the motivation he needed. To adults, the trio were considered harmless marauders, and though they were punished several times for pranks gone wrong, they remained on the 'good side' of the law all the way until the time came for the boys to try their hands at standing for a clutch.
Pets: None Other/Talents: He is surprisingly good at writing and reading, though his sums leave a lot to be desired.

"Ohhh, if there's one thing I hang onto, That gets me through the night. I ain't gonna do what I don't want to, I'm gonna live my life. Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice, Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly. When the world gets in my face, I say, Have A Nice Day. Have A Nice Day"
Name: Sevang " Sev " [pro: Seh-vang) Age: 15 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Craft: Trader Rank: N/A Song: Have a Nice Day - Bon Jovi
Physical Description: A rangy youth, Sevang has an unfinished, almost silly, air about him. Possessing bright gray eyes and a wide set mouth, he smiles often and openly. Adding to the 'silliness', his head sometimes appears a bit large for his body from a distance. Perhaps it is because of his smile, poofy hair, and large ears, but Sev doesn't dwell on appearances. Despite his young ungainly limbs, he moves fluidly with an almost cat-like grace, tripping up only when his too-big feet don't go where they are supposed too ( aka, when something has him flustered, like a pretty girl.) He is going to grow up tall and slender, but you'd be hard pressed to convince him of that now. He does, however, have a full head of curly, dark auburn hair that he is rather proud of, and is enviously well tanned from the Igen sun. He loves music and dance, often showing that he is a very good dancer when he can get his feet to cooperate. Still, it is important to note that he is very short as a boy, though he'll be springing up in height as he matures. Will top off at 6'2" when he is about 20. Described as 'goofy looking' during his adolescence, and 'boyishly charming' once he grows into his adult form.
Personality: Thought of as foot loose and fancy free, Sevang is often regarded as unpredictable but gentle, almost a benevolent trickster. He does, however, act immaturely when he doesn't understand what is going on. Though his overall good nature leaves him feeling incredibly guilty when he acts out of that immaturity and lies or causes harm accidentally. He'll carry guilt for a long time, and he wears that depression on his sleeve like a badge. Normally fun-loving, he sometimes goes to great lengths in search of a good time. Sev is a daring youngster, being absolutely fearless of consequences in the 'here and now.' He likewise has difficulty adhering to authority figures, rules, and their edicts; preferring to work around the rules and/or bend them to suit himself. An escapist by nature and upbringing, he does not like to face tough problems head on, and would prefer to avoid them or talk his way out of them with as little yelling as possible. He is charismatic within his age-group and beyond it, attracting friends easily though he seldom forms lasting attachments because of his family's nomadic lifestyle. His open and friendly facial features add to his charming demeanor, which helpfully offsets being prone to acting before thinking. Thankfully, his quick reaction time and ability to think fast on his feet usually saves him from disaster. He has generally good instincts about things, a nose for avoiding really big trouble, and a firm sense of right and wrong even if he stretches the boundary between them from time to time with his pranks. Fortunately, most everyone can tell when he is lying, though Sev fails to see the advantage of that at this point. Maturity will make him honest and fair-handed, thought he'll still enjoy himself at the expense of others when it comes to jokes and pranks. Up beat and extroverted with his thoughts and feelings, he doesn't hide important things from his friends, and fails to think his friends will hide important things from him.
History: Raised in a family caravan of traders that circulate around Upper and Lower Igen, Sevang has a fierce love of the desert and it's resilient inhabitants. His parents raised him to be self reliant and to keep his wits and humor about him at all times. Neither saw the point in hiding the truth of life from the growing boy, but given their carefree lifestyle, the family saw little of the political strife currently gnawing at Pern's infrastructure. They haven't lost one ounce of respect for Dragonriders, though being true to their nomadic roots, they don't rely on the Weyrs for anything, nor will they when Thread falls again. Search to be played out ICly, along with subsequent arrival at Ista Weyr.
Pets: None Other/Talents:
Talents: -- A really good dancer~! -- Riding the coattails of the first, Sev is as flexible as a young sapling. He enjoys twisting, turning, and weaving his way through things and out of rough situations. -- Able to sit down and focus to the exclusion of all else, though he rarely sees the point in it.
Character dev. author notes: -- Learning to cope with serious stress -- Tempering his inherent escapist attitude when under heavy stress with diligent application of self control and meditation. -- Fine-tuning his budding leadership qualities. -- Growing up and learning that the world isn't always rosy, nor welcoming to carefree optimists. -- Finding justification in his upbringing after doubting the wisdom of his parents, and realizing that he can be who he is, and be the kind of man the world needs him to be, especially as he grows into the charismatic guy people like to be around... and depend on for quick thinking in a pinch. -- Come to terms with not being naturally gifted with long-term planning... and figure out how to train his mind to think long term.
