"nothing." Phraktos muttered in reply to her question, though he very nearly wanted to suggest she wear pants under her skirt. Such a remark would probably have caused her to give him a smack or something worse.
He was relieved at her next response, and waited patiently for her to open the grate and drop to the ground. Once she had done so, he laughed for a moment softly to himself. Ahh..what a situation to find oneself in! He knew most other males would have enjoyed the view without much thought...Phraktos would have done so if he hadn't actually enjoyed their time together. It was almost as if..no..he couldn't be..could he? Was he actually falling for the sprite after all? Oh...that was rather hilarious. Not only were they opposites in so many ways..but hold on. Didn't his sister always say that opposites attracted? Well..perhaps that was what was going on here.
If the feelings he had been having weren't returned in any fashion during the rest of their time together trying to sell off the recipe then he would know that it had been nothing. If however there was reciprocation on her part then...he would be one of the luckiest males in all of the underdark. Seriously who wouldn't want to be in the affections of Izzayne?
He had to reach outside of the opening and find some handholds outside in order to pull his full length out of the crawlspace and onto the side of the House. He held himself steady with one hand, while the other felt around inside until he found the grate, and then he gripped the his foot hold, steadying himself as he used both hands to replace he grate. Once this was done to his satisfaction, he sighed and wiped the sweat off of his face. Then he dropped to the ground below. He fell a little awkwardly on his feet but thankfully there was no harm done. Then he turned to Izzayne and spoke.
"It would be best to split up..just in case. I'll entrust you with the goods...until we meet up at the bar. Then we can discuss the terms once we're safely away."

Izzayne patted her skirt down, checking her stockings for ladders. She got through these things faster then she got through hot meals. It was an annoyance. She turned and watched Phraktos, musing over things while she stood, hands resting on her hips. What was the strange air that gripped them at points. How had they gone from utter strangers to some sort of comfortable knowing in a space of a few hours.
She watched him replace the grate and took a few paces backwards when he dropped down, pulling herself out of her musings. His awkward brought a smile to her lips, but she said nothing. She focused her gaze on his face, nodding. "Okay, I'll see you in a little while." She murmured, smiling a little before darting off.
She found her way around, jumping up onto the wall when she heard voices. She stayed stock still as she watched the guards pass under the wall and head in the direction she had just come from. Good lord, would Phraktos get away okay? She frowned at her worry and got down off the wall on the opposite side.

Phraktos nodded at her in return and waved to her before she darted off. Once she had disappeared out of sight, Phraktos started to sprint in another direction towards the inner city of Undrek'thoz. He hadn't gone far when he heard voices and footsteps coming towards him from where he had watched Izzayne head off to. He frowned slightly..concern knitting his eyebrows low on his face as he paused wanting to go after her to make sure she was alright.
Oh s**t! He realized too late that they were coming straight for him! He sprinted for the great stone wall and managed to spring over it before they saw him. Or so he thought. He waited on the other side of the wall trying to catch his breath listening for the voices. Suddenly another voice from a balcony overlooking the courtyard shouted that it had seen a thief in go over the wall.
s**t! He had forgotten to replace the wards! If he could raise them once more before they came to root him out..they would be forced to wait until a House mage came to lower the ward on the stone wall. Phraktos hurried to the spot, making sure to keep low and in the shadows until he was at the breach in the ward. He worked frantically, raising the ward up to even higher than it had been before. Then he left in a hurry, dashing away as the guards came to the great wall and attempted to vault over it. Though he didn't see what happened, he could hear their screams from yards away. He couldn't help but snicker..the wards must have hurt them in their attempt to chase him. Ahh..poor suckers.
Unfortunately this was not the end of the chase for Phraktos. He had gone about a hundred yards and had decreased his speed, picking his way through the backstreets that lead into the down town area when he was heard hurried footsteps behind him. He darted into a dark doorway and hid himself waiting for the person to pass him by. The person..was one very angry guard from the House he had just hit, and he happened to spot Phraktos dart into the doorway..so he followed.
Phraktos laughed merrily to himself, and threw himself out of the window, rolling expertly on the ground before rising to his feet and moving off at lightening speed. Oh..this he decided...would be a wondrous chase! The Chase of all chases. When he got through with this guard..the guard would wish he had never even bothered..let alone be born in the end. He couldn't help but stop every few seconds during the chase and give a rather lewd call to the guard when the guard seemingly lost him.
Most would be surprised to find that Phraktos enjoyed a good chase every now and then. Though sometimes he almost got obsessive over it and had to be chased every chance he got. Yes...he was an odd one. But he knew the backstreets of every city he had been in like the back of his hand, so he normally had the upper hand on those who gave chase. It appeared to him that this time would be different, for the guard giving chase seemed to know the backstreets just as well as he did. He'd just have to be even more imaginative and fiendish than normal. Oh...that would be glorious!
In the resulting hour and a half that the chase kept up, Phraktos had stolen the guard's belt, causing his pants to fall around his ankles; Tripped him at least three times when the guard hadn't been prepared; and lastly knocked the guard out when he had finally tired of the chase. He peered down at the unconscious form of the guard, with a bemused look on his face. Then he tied the fellow up with a bit of twine that he found nearby, and pulled a piece of chalk out of one of his pockets and drawn a mustache, and circles around the guard's eyes. He couldn't help but laugh at the end result..adding X's over the male's eyelids as though he were dead. Perfect!
Once this was finished, Phraktos brushed his clothing off and made his way to the Spider's Curse Tavern where he was to meet Izzayne. He'd have to share the story of the chase with her..she'd probably find it amusing. Perhaps she'd even laugh. For some reason Phraktos wanted to be to make her laugh. He had yet to see her face light up in pure delight and really wanted to. He strode through the streets, his head erect; hands on his belt with a light spring in his step. Today had been a wondrous day indeed.
