"Don't be afraid. It always looks painless, I've never asked if it is. It should be. It's always really neat to watch." She said happily as she covered her eyes from the sun outside. "Like each elemental prince or princess has a mark on the ground, kinda like a circle around the one being crowned. Once the ceremony begins it can't be stopped because it's bound together by a powerful rune on the ground. So once someone enters their spot they can't leave it. It's always really funny though, cause most of them won't realize that the ceremony will temporarily take away their gifts, I mean wouldn't your body not being to handle water if you just had part of your soul taken?" She shook her head like it was common sense and common knowledge, which it had been for her people, but their lives revolved around magic. "Where are we going to go?"

"Paralyzing runes... that actually reminds me of something that happened recently." Menos muttered, remembering the fragments he had experienced of a rather terrible event not even a week past. "...and how it feels to have your soul torn out." Shaking his head, Menos figured he'd leave those memories behind. "Anyhow, I figured I might search for Vasyly before returning to the castle. He said he'd be around town."

"My husband's in town?" She wasn't sure how to react to this being as free willed and unfaithful as she was. She did love Vasyly, but then again, she loved just about anyone of the male gender. All the good looking ones anyways, and a male siren was very good looking. "Lead the way." She said happily.

After a brief discussion, the bailiff and chancellor came to a conclusion. The two old gentlemen switched spots placing the bailiff in front of the podium to deal with city hall events as the chancellor retreated to his office to rummage about in various stores within it. Moments later, the chancellor emerged draped in ceremonial robe and carrying a stack of old tomes and a ritual staff as he hurried toward the doors and out, squeezing by the line that trailed through the open doorways.
Showing more vitality than normal for a man his age, the Chancellor sped down the city hall steps and flagged down an empty stagecoach that was about to pass. As he got into the cabin, he stood leaning part of the way out of the door and pointed. Calling out his destination, "To the castle!", The chancellor joined his tomes and staff on the seat as the vehicle sped off down the cobblestone street.
