Armel heard the word 'spaghetti' and that was all he needed to hear. The boy then proceeded do the puppy-dog eyes maneuver to helpfully put things in Viddy's favor ... and his own!

Pales chuckled a bit and nodded, "I'd love to meet your mother." He smiled at Vidya, barely glancing at his son. He just knew what would happen as soon as the word 'spaghetti' flew out of the blue girl's mouth. It was like hanging a bloody arm in shark infested water, "Alright we'll go, but we can't stay for very long."

He had his reasons -- one of them being Albion's appearance. The man didn't much care for the idea of the man likely sitting in his living room or on his doorstep just waiting for him and Armel to get home.

As soon as Pales concented Armel let out a whoop and stood up, almost wobbling and falling over into the pool again. Though he didn't, and Pales made sure of it by putting an arm around Armel's front and then directing him toward their bags, "Yes, ice skating sounds like great fun. We'll do that then." He smiled at Vidya and got up himself, "And I am sure Armel'll have fun learning how to ice skate with you."

Pales let Armel get to the bags and gather them so that the boy felt like he did something of worth and grown up, "Let's go get dressed."

Dancing about anxiously and very hungry now, Armel waited, "Sloowwww!" he muttered a bit impatiently. The ram-horned boy didn't care about the whole new ice skating concept at the moment. He was more worried about his gurgling belly.

Vidya's white gaze shifted towards Armel, catching the puppy-dog look the ram-horned boy was giving to his Da. The blue girl turned emotionless for all of two seconds, then smiled to herself. How cute! Somehow, she doubted the puppy-dog look was needed. However, when he agreed to going, she couldn't pass up a chance to whoop and throw a fist into the air. Victory was hers! ...Armels too, but Victory was defiantely there!

"Yay! Alright, I'll meet you out front once we're all dressed then, kay?" She giggled, seemingly back to her old self once more. With another good-hearted cheer, she snatched up her things and darted into the girls changeroom, ignoring the yell from the lifeguard to not run.

Once she was changed and had her hair...less wet than it was before, she skipped out to the front of the pool building, humming while she looked around for Armel and his Da. Not usual, but she was uber-excited for this visit now...she'd almost spent the entire day with her friend, and to top it all off, they were going to eat SPAGHETTI! Oh, and she supposed her Momma meeting his Da would be cool too. But...SPAGHETTI! He couldn't possibly take this long just getting changed...

It was taking forever, at least for Armel. By the time he was out he was grumbling and glaring a bit at his Da' with an impatient air. The boy straightened out his white shirt that had an image of a black silhouetted hammer on it. He was also wearing a pair of comfortable looking children's blue jeans and his customary boots. His hair wet, it seems Pales insisted the boy stand under a spray of non-chlorined water.

Though not one to be a hypocrit Pales' hair was also a bit wetter even though they had gotten out of the pool for long enough to at least dampen. Pales wore a plain black shirt and blue jeans and comfortable white tennis shoes, "Everyone accounted for?" he glanced around.

Meanwhile Armel stood next to Pales fidgeting. Hungryhungryhungry.

"Yep, we're all here! Unless there was someone else I wasn't informed of, okay, this way!" Spinning slightly on her heel, she guided her friend and his Da' back to her home.

--

"--And THAT is why I'm not allowed into the basement anymore!" She giggled out seconds before they were in sight of her home. Idle banter was something she thrived on, and silence hurt her ears...so chatting with them was better than anything. "Oh, here we are! Lets go EAT!" Vidya cheered, throwing her arms into the air before rushing towards her front door, opening it and calling inside.

"MOMMA! I'm hooome! I brought company, its okay if they stay for dinner, right?" Without even waiting for an answer, she smiled and motioned for the pair to go into the house before her. Manners were manners, of course! Shortly after her call, Enoh came strolling into the main room, still very pregnant and in her pajamas, wiping her hands on a dish towel.

"Oh, hello! Its alright if you want to stay for dinner, we've got plenty, naturally." The shifter invited, throwing the towel to drape over her shoulder. Obviously she didn't care that she was in her pajamas; she was pregnant, so she had every RIGHT to dress comfortably. "Hmm...Pales, right? Pardon me...My memory's a little fuzzy lately.." She chuckled, holding out her hand. "Nice to see you again! Well, Come in, Come in! Dinner's going to get cold." Naturally, before Enoh could finish, Vidya had already taken a hold of Armel's hand, and was only happily leading him into the kitchen for some FOOD. "Haha...They must be hungry..." Chuckling again, she waved for Pales to follow her, and she too went into the kitchen.

"Mieke's cooking is the best! You'll like it so much, I just know it! Want something to drink?" Vidya informed Armel, then asked both of them about the drinks after she'd guided him to the table. WHile he chose where he wanted to sit, she grabbed extra plates and silverware for her friend and her friends parental unit. Once she set out the extra places, drinks and all, she sat down herself. "Thank you, Mieke!" She purred affectionately towards the humanoid doe with orange eyes and orange tipped white hair as she distributed servings of spaghetti to everyone at the table.

"You're welcome, Dia! My name is Mieke, by the way...thanks for coming over" The doe bowed her head a little bit, introducing herself with a smile. "Pleased to meet you! If you need anything else, just ask, okay? I've already eaten, so you can have as much as you'd like." The ever-polite doe, once finished serving everyone, went back to clean up the rest of the kitchen.

"Mieke's weeird...she likes cleaning and cooking and all that stuff..." Vidya whispered to Armel from where she was, eyeing the doe curiously. Then, with a happy coo, she set to eating her dinner.

"I hope Vidya hasn't bothered you at all today...I think we all know how much of an energetic handful she can be..." Enoh said with a smile, drawing her red eyes over towards Pales.

Pales and Armel laughed as Vidya told them her anecdote about her basement adventure. It was an odd story, but one that was quite nicely relayed to the both of them. Vidya was a hell of a storyteller according to Armel. He was throughly amused, and neither of them seemed to mind that she preferred to speak on the way to her home.

When she announced pointed out where her home was and then began to rush toward it the pair quickly followed after and followed her inside. Then soon as that happened, and the announcement was made stuff happened!

Pales shook hands with Enoh smiling himself, "Yes, Pales. Nice to see you again too, Mrs. Love." He was always so damn formal. The man also noted she looked different, and it wasn't just the belly either. He chose not to point it out though. So he just made polite greeting and left it at that while following Enoh into the kitchen after her hand was released from his own.

Armel stumbled after Vidya at first as she pretty much caught him off guard, but soon he got the ground beneath him and he trotted after, "Aye? Can'nae wait then!"

Hell, it already smelt great, "Aye, orange juice, if ye 'ave it?" Armel was shy about being in another person's home it seemed. He didn't like being a bother. He politely smiled at Mieke, and found her to be a very nice doe-type. Not that he had met many to draw this knowledge from. Armel giggled at Vidya's comment about Mieke. He had to admit that was a bit strange. Once he was served he went happily about eating.

Pales smiled and greeted Mieke and exchanged pleasentries, "Yes, ver good to meet you. Thank you all for having us here. As far as drinks go I just want water," he replied happily. He glanced at Enoh as she spoke and seemed to think on how to comment for a moment, "She is no trouble at all. Armel and I love having her around. She is very polite and pleasent to be around. Today she taught my son how to swim." He grinned at Enoh, "She is welcome to our home anytime." Pales sounded quite sincere as he said all this.

"Oh my~! I haven't heard anyone call me 'Mrs Love' in so long! Please, just call me 'Enoh'...no need for formalities." Besides, Enoh didn't know his last name, so making him calling her by her first name was also a scapegoat...as true as her words were, it also saved her. Once formalities were over and they were in the kitchen, Enoh attempted to help Mieke out...but the doe insisted that she do it alone, using the grounds that Enoh was pregnant to get her to just sit down. Mieke had already had her twins, who were out with their father, so she had every right to be up and about and to (nicely) order her mother around; she shapeshifter had done it for her many times too.

"Yep, we have orange juice! Its one of my little brother's favourite drinks." She coo'd out, pouring a glass of orange juice for Armel, Water for Pales and Enoh, and finally Grape juice for herself. This had all been done before she sat down, of course. After a few forkfulls of her spaghetti, she found she had left something unsaid. "But she's nice." Vidya whispered to Armel as an afterthought, not really wanting to give him the wrong idea about the doe; she just had weird hobbies, thats all.

"Ah, so thats what they were doing at the pool." Enoh mused, though she was positively bursting with pride from Pales' words. She knew Vidya was a sweetheart, but to hear others tell her the same thing just made her that much more proud to be able to call the girl her daughter. "And thank you so much for your kind words! Thats something every parent loves to hear about their kids." A small chuckle left her lips as she leaned to the side and tweaked Vidya's ear, causing the girl to tilt her head towards her shoulder in surprise.

"Agh! Mom~!" The tale whined, playfully swatting her author's hand with her fork, though she missed on purpose. Vidya had partially missed what Pales was saying, save for the being welcome anytime part. "Oooh...Anytime? That's great, thank you! I like playing with Armel." She informed Pales with a grin, though she was also partially telling Armel this as well.

"So she taught Armel how to swim, huh? How'd you like that?" Enoh asked both Author and Tale curiously, as if she'd never tweaked Vidya's ear at all. It was common knowledge that while the child had something to say about it, the parent either had to say the same thing, or say something completely different about it.

Pales chuckled and nodded at Enoh, "Fine, have it your way, Enoh." He smiled at her as she wandered off and tried to help the doe who was busily making her way to finish dinner preperations and all that. He had himself a seat in the chair set out for him. He was content with this sort of thing, and what was more he was raised in family chaos. Thus all this just made him smile and actually quite content.

Armel nodded, as he watched Viddy pour the orange juice. This was pretty great. Swimming lessons, good food, orange juice, and good people. He obviously couldn't ask for more. "Aye, she seems nice 'nough." He replied to Viddy's afterthought with a whisper of his own. Though he found no reason to whisper, but it was fun to play along with Vidya anyhow.

Pales grinned at Enoh and nodded, "I love hearing good things of my children all the while. Gives me reason to strut and hold my head high." He replied, he most certainly was the type of man to strike out and try to make his own family with or without someone else beside him.

Armel was happily in his meal, but after many times of battling with this particular messy food he had finally mastered the subtleties of spaghetti eating. After he had managed to swallow down a portion that was in his mouth Armel chuckled at the ear tweaking of Viddy. His Da' would never do such a thing to him ... hope springs eternal anyways, "Aye, Vidya is lots o'fun."

Upon being asked of the enjoyment of the swimming lessons Armel spoke up first, "Aye, I loved it. Vidya is a great teacher." He seemed quite enthused by his experience with the blue Tale.

Pales chuckled and nodded, "I helped her out a little by demonstrating what she explained. All-in-all it was a great time."

Enoh couldn't help it; she stuck out her tongue playfully. "Of course I'll have it my way! Its my house and I'm pregnant. Therefore I always win by default." She nodded knowingly. When she gave up on helping at all, she merely settled into eating and conversation...though not at the same time.

"Well then!" Enoh started at the comment about loving to hear good things about your children. "I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Armel around too much...but Vidya has nothing but good to say about him, and I think he's a wonderful kid." She nodded, telling every inch the truth, but all at the same time to uber-inflate her company's ego...besides, its not every day Pales comes over, and she still had to comment on things from her wedding.

"Yeah...I need to demonstrate things better next time." Vidya nodded after a mouthful of spaghetti, positively beaming at all the praise she was getting; though there was a bit of an embarassed flush on her cheeks...but it was good embarassment, so all was well! "We're gonna do it again sometime! And go ice skating." Though she'd never been ice skating before. That should be interesting. Apparently Enoh thought so too, because she chuckled softly.

"I think you need to learn how to skate first dear, before you drag anyone else into it." The shifter teased, reaching out to tweak her daughter's pointed ear again...only this time, Vidya got smart and covered them until the threat was over. "But thank you so much Pales, for everything." She coo'd softly.

"Wow 'Melly, you're cleaner than I am!" Vidya giggled out, pointing out the fact she'd already had to wipe spaghetti sauce off of her being or the table more than a few times. Older she may be, but she was still a huge novice when it came to eating spaghetti without the lovely mess.

Pales of course was filled with a sense of pride over Enoh complimenting his son. What father-figure didn't want to hear good things about his children? He on most days was convinced that Armel was a complete angel and thus the boy was handed a lot more responsibility and trust. Thus Enoh's ego inflation worked and it was easy to see by the way Pales grinned.

"We can learn how t'ice skate together." He pointed out to Enoh when she mentioned Vidya should learn first before dragging anyone else into the experience.

Pales glanced at Armel and chuckled before nodding at Enoh, "No problem at all. Hope to see a lot of you and Vidya more often. You and Nio are both very wonderful people. I am honoured to have met you both." He was very sincere as he said this.

Armel laughed and slurped up another spaghetti noodle before commenting, "I 'ave 'ad a lot of practice with this type o'food." The ram-horned boy nodded sagely at the end of his comment as if needing to affirm it for himself.

Enoh chuckled softly once she noticed Pales' grin. Yay, mission accomplished! Blinking, she turned to look over at Armel as he pointed out that they could learn together. After a moment, she gave the boy a soft smile. "Oh, That is true. Well...when you two do go, I'll go with you. Its unfair to only have your Daddy watching the both of you, especially if the two of you can't skate." Enoh corrected her earlier words for Armel, but she also received an amused giggle from Vidya.

"Great, Armel! Now we'll have our own stopping cushions!" Vidya commented, her voice a little higher due to the fact she'd been laughing. She could picture it; she wouldn't know how to stop, so the next best thing would be to crash into her own Momma! ...Or the ice, but she was sure her Mother would be a softer landing by far. Enoh couldn't hide the roll of her eyes from her daughter's words.

"I extend that same invitation to you, my friend! You and yours are always welcome here." The shifter gave a gleeful twitch of her ears; yay praise! Thats exactly what a pregnant woman loved to hear! "I think we'd better watch ourselves...our heads might explode from all the praise being passed around." She laughed, though she was obviously pleased with everything that had been said.

"Oh, I've had practice to!" Vidya said after she'd disposed of a mouthful of spaghetti. "I just suck at it, still." 'Eating Spaghetti' was on her list of 'Things-she-can't-do-well-or-at-all', right alongside Reading (under the 'Not Well' half) and Sit Completely still (This was on the 'At All' Half). Well, at least she was honest! Once she was finished her meal, she gave a pleased sigh and leaned back lazily on her chair.

"Ah...So full~! For now, anyway." She winked at her friend playfully, since apparently they did nothing but eat. So content was she that she let out a little burp, followed shortly after a squeak doubled by her hands flying up to cover her mouth. "Ah...hah...S'cuse me..." She murmured sheepishly from behind her hands.

Pales laughed a bit and nodded, "I warn you though, if you do take Armel out one day on your own -- he can be quite a handful!" the man then went about finishing his meal as set before him. This stuff was way better than what he cooked. He should get a recipe before leaving.

Armel rolled his eyes at Pales' comment, "I'll be'ave jus' fine for Viddy's Ma'." He said between mouthfuls of food. He would too, just to prove Pales wrong. Ha! Ha-ha! He grinned at Vidya and nodded, "Aye! An' it'd be fun!" He laughed himself. Armel couldn't help it, Vidya's laugh seemed to be contagious once she began.

The man smiled at Enoh, "I am honoured, it's almost like we are family." He grinned widely, "It almost feels as if we are brother and sister." and it was true, it was like they shared a connection, or a secret of sorts. He just couldn't quite put his finger on it for the moment. Maybe it'll hit him later? Probably not.

The ram-horned boy finished a few seconds after his friend had and leaned back, "Great food, aye!" He laughed as Vidya burped and clapped his hands a bit, "I give that'n a 8!"

The assignment of points got him a raised eyebrow from Pales and the boy merely shrugged commenting, "Wot? Seemed point worthy!"

Pales just sighed and shrugged with a small chuckle, "What will I do with you?" The man shook his head and returned his attention to Enoh, "Sometimes I wonder where he gets some of this stuff. Probably television or something.."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 03, 2006 10:32 am

Enoh smiled at Armel, then dragged her gaze back to Pales. "Somehow, I don't think I'll have a problem with him...Vidya wouldn't leave him alone if I took him out." It was lovely, her daughter had a way of completely capturing the attention of infants, and made them less of a hassel for her. The tale was, without doubt, wonderful at distracting children.

"Yay eight points!" Vidya cried out suddenly, throwing her arms into the air. She never thought to give a point score to something like that, but she seriously doubted her Momma would approve. It was completely okay for playing with roller cars, though! She was giggling again, nodding in agreement to Armel as he spoke to his Da.

"Hah...most likely. Vidya likes to watch tv too, later at night. At least he's not playing scary or violent video games, ne? Vidya does...the really gross, morbid ones...I'd normally be worried because she's so into it, but..." As fate would have it, Vidya blurted out something about going swimming or making a little garden in the backyard once Enoh let her sentence drag off. "...I really don't think I have to worry at all." She concluded with a giggle.

"...To be honest, I don't know if I have brothers or sisters...so as far as I know, I'm an only child." The shifter confided in her friend, her giggles quieting down to a soft, almost sad voice. "But seeing all my kids...it's always made me wish I did have at least one." Not that she recalled her past, naturally.

"Momma...?" Vidya started slowly, her voice strangely low, as if understanding what her Mother was so sad about. "Oooh, why don't you an' Pales become brother and sister!" She cheered out, her arms in the air again as if she'd just made a touchdown. Serious to Silly in two seconds flat. Way to go Vid, way to go. "That way, you have a brother and Armel is our cousin! Donny would be really happy about that too, And Daddy! Daddy likes Pales too~" She continued on, only giving more reasons as to why thats a good idea. "Right Armel? Wouldn't that be cool if we were cousins! We could have spaghetti and play and have a family gathering at Christmas and Birthdays and the like..!" She probably didn't need to, but she was trying to get her friend on her side.

"You gotta admit, the girl has a point." Enoh giggled softly, turning her bewildered stare from her energetic daughter to Pales. "Well, since all the evidence is in...whats the verdict? Shall we adopt eachother as siblings?" She wasn't sure if she were joking or not...but hey, it'd be neat if they did adopt eachother! Family ties were a wonderful thing.

Pales blinked a bit and seemed to consider the offer for a brief moment. He had an adopted sister, but that didn't mean he couldn't adopt friends as family either. Plus, most assuredly he'd be seeing a lot more of Enoh, Viddy, and the rest than he had ever seen his sister or other memembers of the family that had adopted him when he was young.

Plus it just felt right. So why not?

"Well, I don't see why not," The young man chuckled softly, "We all get along so well!" Pales grinned then, "I hereby adopted Enoh as my sibling!" It was offical enough for him. What did papers prove? Nothing. It just made more junk to stuff in his file cabinet at home.

Armel tilted his head, "S'at mean I can call Enoh: Auntie Enoh?" He looked at Vidya and smiled, "And Donny an Viddy are m'cousins?" The very thought of it seemed to make Armel quite joyful! They were among his most trusted of friends.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 04, 2006 8:45 pm

Enoh laughed softly, then raised her right hand to shoulder-level. "And I hereby adopt Pales as my sibling!" She parrotted, her ears pivoting and flattening happily; this was good enough for her, after all! "There, nice and official! You can call me that if you want too, Armel...I'm not going to make you." Her crimson eyes focused on the boy, a small smile forming on her lips.

"Now I'm going to celebrate by eating Ice cream...because I really want ice cream." She concluded with a grin, the pregnant woman pushed her seat back, slowly standing up with one hand on her bulging belly. She waved a dismissive hand at Mieke as the doe instantly rushed to go help her. "No, I wanna do it!" She partially whined to the doe, then turned back to Pales. "Want some ice cream?" Her gaze then shifted to the two Tales, looking at them, then at their plates. "An' do you two want Ice cream too? We have...Chocolate, Neopolatin, Cotton Candy...And Mint Chocolate."

Vidya giggled at the 'adopting' process. This was the easiest adoption EVER! She remembered all the paper and forms her mother had to fill out to adopt a few of her brothers and sisters...so vocally saying it was so much better! It didn't take as long, too. "Yah! An' I'll call your Daddy...uhm...'Uncle Pally'! Uh...if thats okay with Uncle Pally, anyway!" Vidya corrected herself near the end, but she still seemed very proud of herself for that. Well, the thought of calling him "Un'Pa" crossed her mind, too. "And yes, Cousins! I don't think I've ever had a cousin!" That would be because she didn't know if Alania had kids or not. "This is so cool, right Armel?" The excited girl was swinging her legs a little under the table. Then, out of nowhere...

"COTTON CANDY! Please."

Armel shrugged in response to Enoh before responding simply, "'Course. Auntie En..." He grinned over at Vidya nodding, "We'll be th'best cousins to each other ever!" It wasn't the first or last time Vidya's contagious excitement seemed to wiggle into Armel's usually mild and somewhat somber personality and make him quite happy and exciteable. He nodded in agreement to Vidya then the mention of ice cream caught his attention he called out, "Mint chocolate, please!"

Pales chuckled at Vidya and Armel as he said to Vidya, "You may call me whatever you feel is appropriate, Vidya."

The only thing the man seemed to fear was being referred to as 'Uncle P'. For various reasons that title seemed just a little strange if not embarrassing. Pales thought for a moment, "I'll have chocolate, then. After ice cream I am afraid Armel and I have to make leave, it is getting quite late." He shot the children and Enoh and apologetic look.
