That's right. Microdermals.
I don't know how it is in your town, but it's really popular with trashy girls in mine. Even with ones that aren't really into the alternative lifestyle. I mostly see the ones on their chest, and below or beside their eye.
I don't get it. Do they know it's permanent? I've yet to see anyone get them that has an IQ above 30. It seems like it would be a delicate, beautiful piercing, but from what I've seen in my town...
... it might as well be a butterfly tramp stamp.
EDIT: No, I'm not saying anything bad about them. I think they have the potential to be absolutely stunning. But they're definitely a very poorly thought-out trend here.

Yeah, I've noticed it too.
It sounds utterly pathetic, but it just pisses me off because they aren't really doing it for the lifestyle. If that makes any sense?
I'm also planning on having quite a few done. I think they can look absolutely gorgeous. I want three vertical down my forehead, three vertical down my nape, and clavicles.

Ive only seen one person with one. But she was also heavily tattooed and it was almost hidden within her chest tattoo. So I'm pretty sure she wasn't worried about it being permanent.
I currently have a sternum surface piercing, but once it regects I may consider getting a microdermal but slightly lower on my sternum so it is more easily hidden.

I was actually planning on getting two done over my madison scars on my chest but...
I feel like I'd be giving in to the local trend.
I know you're supposed to be doing it for "yourself", but I don't think it could sit right with me knowing that it's so popular and trendy.

Yeah, that makes sense. I hate to sound so petty, but I feel like I have a certain sense of pride in our body modification lifestyle.
I hate seeing people throw trendy piercings around like toys.

Maybe it's the area, because where I live, I've only once seen someone with a microdermal who wasn't otherwise tattooed and/or pierced. Most of the people I've seen around here who have them are also friends of mine, or friends of friends... like my land lady.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I mean.
My best friend here is also a heavy modder, to a point where he can never go back. And we discuss it often because it is upsetting seeing people get them done, just so they can take them out in the future. Iunno. It just bothers me. Haha.

I don't see how so many of them are getting them; half the chicks around here are total wusses. And that s**t HURT.
I got 3 on my chest in a triangle, but 1 rejected. Now it's just a line.
Most chicks who come into the shops around here are getting their Monroe done. And they complain that that hurts. I can't see them going for a microdermal.

The only person I have seen them on in my area is a stripper. She has five of them in a curved line up her pelvis.
I though it would be cool to get one just at the top of my cleavage. I have nice boobs so I'm thinking it would look nice but my guy would never go for it.

You guys are ridiculous. How can you tell just by looking at somebody if they fit into the "body mod" lifestyle or not? neutral Just because somebody doesn't look like they care about the lifestyle doesn't mean they actually don't. I mean, I look really preppy and wear Hollister clothes all the time (I'm cringing thinking of high school stereotypes all over again), but I still appreciate the body mod lifestyle and no one can judge me for it.
At any rate, even if they don't care about the lifestyle, who gives a s**t? When I got my first piercing (a navel piercing, too), I didn't give a s**t about the "lifestyle." I just really liked belly button rings and I got one. Big deal? No. Now, obviously since I'm in this guild, I have since gained an appreciation for all kinds of piercings, but I'm not going to judge somebody who gets a microdermal piercing just because they don't have any other mods. It's not even a big deal.
Some people just take piercing way too seriously.
