This year, our teacher is having us play really amazing pieces. Canzone sotto le stelle is a really beautiful piece. I don't know if there's anywhere to find it online though.

Definitely Dance of the Tumblers from some ballet/opera or other. I can't remember what it was. I played it in the 8th grade in our mini symphony orchestra. :3 Good times. I PLAYED that C-string, yo!
Right nowww my favorite song is Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah (which is by the guy that wrote Carnival of the Animals... I can't spell his name)...because my stand partner and I made up words to it about hair and cutting hair.
RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS is the bee's knees, by the way. And Doug Spata too...beause he wrote Violet's Tango which had a VIOLA SOLI.

My favorite piece to play on the viola (god, I'm going to sound like such a dork) HAS to be In a Dream from Lord of the Rings. It's the song when Frodo is reading a book in the beginning of the first movie. It is so so so pretty on the viola.
But Rites of Tamburo is a very close second. 3nodding
I also like to play the pieces I have to play for Concert Band on my viola because it sounds a lot cooler. Well, sometimes.

There are a lot of songs that i liked on the viola... 1. In the Hall of the Mountain King 2. Four Seasons 3. Hot Potato 4. My Immortal- I made it up, it is mostly played on the strings: G + C ...
In our class, we play a song called "Furioso"... but we play it every single day... and the viola's play the same part on the same string for almost the whole song... EEEWWWWWW!!!!! but the song is like ... really easy! stupid song... it makes me furious... biggrin

Seven Stars Cigarettes Goblin Dance! It's by... Doug Spata. I found it when I was in eighth grade from my orchestra teacher. We played it for our winter concert. ONLY the violas play with bows in that piece. Everyone else is pizzicato. questing! helpiez?!I enjoy just about every song from Spata but my favorite would have to be Avatar because of the dynamics and the ending of the song c;
