Aurore brightened and nodded, getting excited as they got into the car and taking Zen's hands in hers with a passion. Nodding excitedly, she took in all the information with a happy air about her.

"I'm sure you'll talk to the Professor someday! We both will, it's a promise! I'm interested in his research, but to be honest I'm probably going to deal with Professor Elm more often than not. He does a lot of research on eggs and breeding and growth, while Professor Rowan does a lot on evolutionary lines. But we'll both be top breeders, and then ALL the professors will be begging to talk to us!" she said excitedly. Letting go of his hands with a giggle and smile, she started the car up and had a happy air about her. Once again in an incredible mood, she began to humm to herself as she started driving.

It was only about five minutes from the daycare center, and she couldn't wait to show Zen everything they had to offer. She was proud of the babies she was raising, and of the pokemon she was taking care of for other trainers. Even those pokemon seemed to like her, which made her even more proud. It's every breeders pride and joy to be well-loved by pokemon. Looking to Zen again she smiled brightly.

"Since you're striking it out on your own, when you meet papa we can ask for our family's supplier of really high-end goods. There's this new thingy that daddy just got in, and you use it on long and thick furred pokemon.....and it helps sluff off all the dead fur so their coat shines! It has a calming scent too, so they don't get stressed out."

Zen was starting to like this girl more and more as he got to know her. Peppy, spunky, happy, and energetic. In Zen's point of view, those were a few key things needed in the business of breeding. People weren't going to leave their Pokemon with you if you couldn't be friendly to them. Charisma, he found, was a breeder's best tool.

"It's settled then, we'll meet Professor Rowan together, and we'll be some of the best breeders Zatao has ever seen!" Zen pumped his fist, smiling at her. "And the Professors will just beg to be involved in our research, right?" He looked to Aurore with another smile, not bothering to have put his seat belt on. After all, it was just a five minute drive.

He honestly couldn't wait to see the facilities, since he partially wanted to judge his own based on a professional's, and at the same time wanted to test his own charisma with the Pokemon there. He was especially interested in that Squirtle.

"Ah, thanks. I normally tend to get my stuff from that shop in the mall. But I'm sure high-end stuff would work better, it's just... I don't like showing that I have money. But if it's better for the Pokemon, I suppose I could suck it up." Zen mused on this for a bit, biting his lower lip. His father would want him to do something like that, but that was the problem. He didn't want to be like his father.

As Aurore drove, she frowned at Zen's last statement. Show money? Was that what her family was doing? She didn't feel like they were. Yes, they breed some of the most beautiful pokemon to be seen anywhere, and yes, they had wonderful family lines. They also only got high-grade things because people wanted their pokemon so much BECAUSE they were beautiful and well-cared for. Most of the Pokemon that they sold were not taken out of their care unless they were deemed fit to interact with others, fit for showing, fit for battling, or pretty much fit for whatever purpose they were going into with their new family. They separated the puppies into different training classes like that, she knew. There was a battle class, a show class, and a class that even catered to Pokemon Rangers.

It wasn't that her family spent the money just to show off. They spent the money to make their services better, and to take better care of the pokemon they put out. Not to mention they gave the same treatment and care to pokemon that came through their daycare center that WEREN'T from one of their batches. She'd heard of daycare's that didn't though. They catered only to the high-end types that they'd breed, or that other famous families had. She wondered if Zen's family was one of them......but she couldn't think about that. Not when she had a sweet batch of pokemon in the back and a new friend in the car seat next to her. In her musings, they'd somehow made it to the facility outside of town.

The outside was the standard Daycare fare, if not a larger building than usual. Big, pretty building that had a pretty but simple sign out front that stated 'Longway Daycare and Medical Center'. Beyond the fence that stretched all the way down the street for a good ten acres was a huge field and forest beyond that. You could see a fairly large and clean-cut Stable House midway in the back of the property, directly in between the building and the edge of the forest back there. Pokemon were running around everywhere out back, and there was a medium grade man-made lake where you could see splashes under the water, and more than a few water types jumping in to dive and swim. Rapidash and Tauros were running in herds, and a group of Miltank were just sedately grazing on the far side with some of their calves.

In the trees that were closest to the fence, you could see large wicker-type structures that had been strengthened by scores of bug pokemon adding saliva and other binding agents to the makeshift nests, and there was a large cocoon shaped structure that had one opening at the bottom, and a little platform type opening near the top where a Vespiquen was sitting regally while Beedrill and Combee were buzzing out the bottom and flying off towards the flower fields that laced the forest edge. There were many other bug types there too, probably too many to count. It was really more of a ranch type facility than a Daycare, with how much land was avaliable. They had ten acres across, and ten acres deep. A hundred in all, so pokemon could come and go in the forest.

Coming to a stop and getting out of the car, Aurore sighed happily and smiled at the facility, going to the fence to pet a young Ponyta that had come to it just in case the 'girl-who-gave-sugar-cubes' had a treat for it. Sure enough, Aurore dug in her pocket for a Cheri Berry and gave it to the little foal that happily gobbled it up and then scampered off when it heard a whinny from its Rapidash mother. Giggling softly, she opened the door to the car for the Pokemon and let them get out, leading Zen and the pokemon inside the door to the Daycare.

"Home sweet Home." she smiled, opening the door and walking in, expecting them to follow.

Those five minutes in the car were probably the most awkward that Zen had ever experienced. Aurore had gone completely silent, which was completely different from what Zen had discerned. Perhaps he had said something to insult her? If so, he surely didn’t mean to. He didn’t mean that her family showed off by spending money on high-grade items, he was referring to his own family that enjoyed showing off their wealth with fabulously bred Pokemon that looked and felt gorgeous. But those Pokemon were never born out of a true love from their parents, which he felt was wrong and cruel. Zen hated forced forcing Pokemon to breed, and wanted to sock every breeder in the face that committed that awful sin.

He could hear the Pokemon in the back of the van talking to each other. Of course, he couldn’t understand what they were saying, but it was most likely something about him and Aurore. Those Pokemon always seemed to be talking about him it seemed, and laughing about it too. Even Armageddon, his first Pokemon, seemed to jump in to tease his owner and friend. But, Zen told himself, he teased them as well, lovingly of course. And they returned the favor in due course. They loved each other dearly, and that was what Zen believed to be the key of being a breeder.

When Zen came out of the car, he gasped slightly at the place he saw. It seemed so much like his Grandparents’ Daycare in Solaceon. The open field, the forest, the stables, the building, it was like being home again. He wanted to drop to his knees and take Aurore’s hand, thanking her for reminding him of home. But he wouldn’t go as far as that. But he did want to interact with every Pokemon he saw, to show them love and affection. These Pokemon were stunning, well cared for, and beautiful.
”Can we go in?” Zen asked shakily, longing to see the geniuses that created this perfect breeding art.

Aurore giggled at his awe-struck attitude twoards the place, and she nodded, unlocking the front door and leading him inside. Looking around and flipping the lights on she called into the place.

"Mama! Papaaaaaa! We have a special visitor here! Anybody home?" she chimed, looking around as Kingsley came into view and rubbed up against her legs before trotting off into another off-leading corridor that led to her father's clinic. The Persian always seemed to nap in there now, and hardly came out for any other reason. Smiling after the old and vain Persian, Aurore opened another side door that led to the babies room. There were various little ones sleeping in there, some were playing, and some where just plain gnawing on things because they were teething. The Weedle she'd bought the cocoon for were rolling around with each other in a ball, climbing up the little fake tree that covered one whole corner of the sizable room. Walking over to said corner, she hefted the cocoon she'd gotten and took it to them, pushing them away playfully as they came to investigate what the 'new thing' was, and hung it up in several places.

It was very much like the large one outside, little platform at the top, hole at the bottom, little nests on the inside. The Weedle all shrilled with joy at a new cocoon, and a few of them scurried inside of it from the bottom, while one of them crawled up to the platform and sat there regally, acting as if he was king of the hive. Aurore laughed, and looked towards Zen with a smile, patting the heads of a few puppies that had come to say hello to her, and paying special attention to a sick Vulpix that had the sniffles.

"The Squirtle is over here, if you wanna take a look at him," she laughed softly, keeping the puppies away from her for now since a few of them were fire types and that Vulpix didn't need to get a water gun to the face when it already had the beginnings of a cold. The Squirtle was in its own little playpen, scribbling on a sketchpad with a crayon. Looking up, it saw Aurore and huffed, deciding it was time to get her attention. Getting up, it threw the crayon out of the playpen and used a small Bubble attack on her, splashing her face with bubbles that popped all over her.

Zen marveled at the entirety of the walkway as they approached the building. Perfectly laid out stepping stones, berry bushes, flowers, and all sorts of tracks made by the pokemon. It truly was a welcoming place, Zen could tell. He looked at the Pokemon one last time before entering the house with Aurore, and seeing the Persian that was groomed to perfection. He could tell the Pokemon here were loved and not forced already. This was bliss for him.

His heart melted as they entered the baby room. So many happy little babies all cooing and making baby eyes at him. It reminded him of the newborns in Solaceon hatching from their eggs, and the first time he'd seen Koori and Twilight. He kneeled down to let a baby Belsprout wrap his vine around his finger, which caused th ebaby plant to chirp hapily.

He then saw the Squirtle, and saw that he was trouble already. Squirtles didn't usually like the color red, due to their dislike for fire, even though they werre resistent to it. But this little trouble maker was using a red crayon, a particularly vibrant shade at that.

"That's not a nice thing to do." He came down to eye level with the Squirtle and made sure that it looked at him. He didn't enjoy bratty Pokemon, no one did. He's make sure this one didn't end up a spoiled brat who got what he wanted. "Now apologize." His tone was commanding, sharp. He didn't care if this Squirtle missed its mother, he was doing this so that it wouldn't end up getting itself killed by a Charizard one day.
