mmmm, every so often I do. usually happens when I end up people watching. Just find myself wondering what's caused these people to do what they do, imagining scenarios that might happen from whatever it is they're doing and wonder how different people would respond in each one. Malls are awesome places for it. biggrin you can do it so sneakily

Well, looking at it with Family studies, its to make you fit into a certain niche in the family; It starts with how your parents would like their child to act, normally, the first born has high marks and is a serious person, while when they have a second child. it would be slightly opposite, being rebellious and not caring about marks so much.
Normally it happens because one doesn't want to compete with one being better then the other.
Now, why a geek does geek things because it is what that person appeals to i guess, If one person likes science and engrosses themselves, then they will stop doing sports and become more geeky i guess.
Wow thats a long explanation XD

We act the way we do because of the environment in which we are raised. That determines our behavior in front of various situations.
But environment doesn't affect everyone the same way, it varies with each individual.
In a way, every person is unique, and in another way, we are just imitating what others do.

ಠ_ಠ Environment, yeah. And the things you learned while you were little. I became a gamer girl just because of all the male friends I used to have in Kindergarden - 3rd grade.

Must be a combination of one's genetic traits/predispositions, one's mind's construction and the variables in one's environment.

Most people do what they want to do, based on their environmental/governmental guidelines. Each area has different things that are acceptable to everyone, and things that are unacceptable. The thing is, since we all have brains and can think for ourselves, we can decide if we want to live within the confines of what the others around us find acceptable or not.
