The races:
Damphir - Half vampire, half human, born of a Damphir and a Moroi. Yep, that's right, no humans needed any longer, in fact, Damphir don't seem compatible with humans! Damphir are physically stronger then Moroi, and do not need to drink blood. Sunlight bothers them, but only a little. They could pass for humans. Most Damphir become guardians, protectors sworn to protect the Moroi. There are very few female Damphir, and even fewer of them become guardians. Some decide to raise families, to continue their race's survival, since Damphirs are ONLY born of Moroi and Damphir. One of the biggest taboos in a Damphir's world is giving blood to a moroi while intimate. Because of this, most Damphirs view giving blood at all as something dirty. There is a slur used here that due to the PG nature of the guild, will not be used. Damphir have no magic, but phenomenal reflexes and strength, especially compared to Moroi and humans. "Them first" is the Damphir motto, and the them are Moroi, since they need them to reproduce.
Moroi - living vampires. They have children, age, and die of old age when the time comes. They have magic in one of 4 schools, Earth, air, fire, water. There is a fifth school, Spirit, but VERY FEW people have it, and almost nothing is known about it. There is a Moroi saint who was a spirit user, but that is not common knowledge. Moroi girls tend to be slight and relatively curveless. Both genders are relatively slight and weak physically when compared to Damphir. Moroi get ill very rarely, and age slower past prime then humans. They are very sensitive to light, but can gop out in it, if they must. They must feed every day. Their saliva contains endorphins that are highly addictive, producing a tremendous high. The Royals of the world are all Moroi. For our rp there will be ten families. More on that later. The royals are the step between the regular citizens and the Queen. While Damphir are not technically "Second class citizens" and they need them for protection, they are not seen as equals in many cases, and they cannot be royals. Moroi have two major taboos. Using magic or any other means to fight, but especially magic. Many Moroi would rather die then use their magic offensively, and wouldn't even think of trying. The other taboo is willingly becoming a Strigori. Willingly, or unwilling, anyone turned into a Strigori is considered dead.
Strigori - Dead vampires. They are much stronger then Moroi, stronger then Damphirs even. They drink blood, but cannot tolerate sunlight at all. Strigori do not age or get sick, but they also are not born, they must be made. There are two ways a Strigori is made. When a Moroi feeds so much they kill their feeder, they become a moroi. When a Strigori bites a moroi or a Damphir, they can turn their victim into a strigori if they choose. It is unclear what happens if they try to turn a human, but I would say for the sake of the rp they have a 50/50 chance of turning them or killing them. Strigori loose their souls, hearts, morals, whatever you want to call them. They often still have their memories from their mortal lives, but they can no longer love, they become evil. The ways to kill a Strigori: Sunlight, stabed through the heart with a silver stake, beheading.
Humans - they know nothing. They are plain humans. heart

Positions:
Guardian: A Damphir that protects Moroi. Can be assigned to a specific Moroi, or to the school itself. If assigned to the school, can be a professor. For guardians, "They come first" is the code by which they live. They will do anything to protect the Moroi in their care. They are marked with Molinnja, black tattoos on their neck, one for every Strigori they have killed. They generally have short hair to show off the marks, even the girls.
Professor: A teacher at the school. Must be either a Moroi or a gaurdian Dampir.
Damphir student: A student who is training to become a gaurdian.
Moroi student: A student who is sent away to school because they need an education. If their parents don't have enough guardians, they might be sent away just because school is safer.
Royals: none of the teachers, but some of the moroi students could be royals. There are 10 royal families, and will be handled on a first come first serve basis. Royal families must be okayed by Amai for game balance.
No Strigori currently, may change in the future. heart

The world:
The royals:
The Queen is not a hereditary title, but she is the be all end all ruler. She has advisers from the royals, but she has the final say. The old queen chooses her successor. She is always a royal before she is chosen to be Queen.
This RP takes place at St. Loliena. Named after a former Queen, who was known for being the kindest most loving queen ever. She was killed by a Strigori that took out almost all of her guardians. Her last one had been patroling, and found the broken ward, so came running. He killed the Strigori as it was feeding on Loliena, and then when she begged him to kill her, before she became strigori, with a heavy heart he did.
Wards: Wards are cast around the school and refreshed every two weeks. they are created by all four elements working in concert. Little known fact - all four elements using magic too close to a ward can weaken it. Wards are all about life energy, which is the anthisis to Strigori, so they cannot cross the wards. Silver is poison to strigori, but a silver stake embued with magic from all four elements, the perfect tool for killing Strigori, can also be used to disrupt a ward.
Silver stakes - these weapons are embued with magic from all four elements, and have a leather wrapped hilt. They are like a cross between stakes and daggers. They are perfect for killing Strigori, though you must stab one in the heart to be sure of the kill. Gaurdian students, called novices, are not allowed to handle them until the end of their first year.
In the final year, Damphir students get "Field experience" an exercise during which they are assigned to a Moroi student. They spend 6 days a week, 24 hours a day protecting them. The professors stage surprise attacks, dressed in all black to represent that they are acting as Strigori. novices are judged based on how they handle the attacks. They are told that they are not allowed to hold back. Only the Gaurdian teachers participate.
In the mornings the classes are basic and mixed, Damphirs and Moroi both. They are subjects like math and science. In the afternoons, however, the Damphir go for classes in defense, fighting, strategy, guardian history, while the moroi go for court etiquette, art, magic classes, and moroi history and similar.
Moroi and Damphir are dormed separately. And further split by gender. heart
