Appearance
==============
Jenna's build is all about endurance and stamina. She is tough, but not the strongest or the fastest (although she is above average in both, as most students in the Academy are trained to be). She is thick-boned and 5'6" tall. Her skin is naturally dark. Her ancestors were African Americans, after all. As she's been spending a lot of time outside, her skin is even darker than normal. Her eyes are a light brown color while her hair is black. It wants to form into little ringlets, so she always keeps it in a tight bun.
==============
Personality
==============
Jenna is like a lobster. A super tough and nearly impenetrable shell on the outside with squishy, soft meat on the inside. Only you don't catch Jennas in cages or eat them with butter. She doesn't want to feel weak or vulnerable, so she acts strong and cold-hearted. She can be harsh to anyone who doesn't meet her expectations, which is almost always everyone, including herself.
Jenna is definitely a loner. Hard to be someone's friend when you picked on them all the time, after all. Her insecurities are obvious to anyone who looks hard enough: she has an inferiority complex that is spurred on by her parents; and she feels she must keep up her image, or the tides will quickly turn, and she will be the one being made fun of.
Jenna used to be motivated by the desire to please her parents. That desire has waned as time has passed at the academy away from them and their demands and expectations. She still strives to do well simply because she believes others expect her to.

History
==============
Jenna was born to a couple of farmers in The City. They were extremely greedy farmers, too. They were responsible for such a large portion of land that they could afford to hire workers to tend the farm with the extra money gained while they sat on their porch, watching. They were tough on their workers, and they were tough on their only daughter. As a result, she formed a tough exterior very early on.
Her parents pushed Jenna to the academy -- mostly to gain social standing and bragging rights -- as soon as she was eligible: at the age of 12. Being away from home excited her, yet scared her at the same time. She wouldn't have to worry about her parents, but they would be replaced by another and potentialy meaner authority figure: a drill sergeant.
At first, it was just like ordinary school; they studied a lot and did a little bit of physical activity so they wouldn't atrophy. She did very well in all of her classes, not necessarily because of smarts. She worked hard and long, wanting to finally make her parents happy and proud of her. Because of this, she distanced herself from the other kids and became somewhat of a bully... Okay, she was completely a bully.
When the actual military training started, she started to doubt her motives. However, she found a new one. The other kids expected her to excel in the physical stuff as well as the mental stuff, so she worked long and hard again, simply to match those expectations. She continued to bully, but the weight of keeping her image up and not letting anybody into her life was starting to drag her down.
Over time at the academy, her harsh remarks died out. They were replaced by a lonely and cold aura. Instead of being aggressive in the open, Jenna turned to avoiding people altogether and focusing solely on herself and her goals. Without an outlet to vent her anger into, she has become a ticking time-bomb that has yet to go off.
