I did a song called "The Marshall" for my first Solo, two years ago when I was a beginner. I got a perfect score, because I was the kid who was still amazed that he could play an instrument after the first week of beginning band, so I still practiced. This year, I'm playing an untitled piece from a book called "Studies in Legato" that my BD has. It actually has a catchy melody, and not too many accidentals. If there were no dynamic changes or tempo changes, it would be the easiest thing ever, but there are multiple crechendos and decrechendos on one note, so it's pretty hard.
