Dew corssed her arms over her chest and settled a glare at Savith. She exhaled quickly, letting out a little "humph" sound before replying, "No one ever tells me anything. Like I'm some rock-brained five-finger."

Savith quirked a faint brow at teh cubling, expression growing serious. "No one ever implied you were, child," he commented in a soft murmur. "It's good that it doesn't mean anything to you. I'd rather keep it that way."

The cub sighed, knowing the expression on the Glider's face. Dew wasn't going to get any answers today. She turned back to the river, figuring maybe she just had to wait one more turn of the season. "I'm going to get another fish. I'm still hungry." She stepped into teh river, only until the water reached above her ankles. The river had long since calmed, and the current wasn't strong enough to pull her anywhere if she stayed in the shallow end, but the fish weren't in the shallow end.

Savith nodded as the faintest trickle of acknowledgment leaked silently from his mind into the surrounding area. The wordless thought was flavoring with a mild curiosity, wondering at the child trying to fish bare-handed.

Dewpaw hadn't given it much thought when she said the was going to get another fish. She was just hoping for some kind of distraction. Fishing bare-handed wasn't all that bad, she'd done it before. But that was in a pool in the forest. A river was a whole different matter. She knew you used a net in the river. But she had none, and she had never used a net to fish before. She waded a little further out, cathing sight of a number of fish not far off. The currrent was stronger here as the water reached near her knees.

Meanwhile, on the bank, Savith watched, position shifting to study the cub intently while a hand falls to the handle of his whip.

Dewpaw spread her feet to give herself a good stance. Her movements were slow, calculated. She knew that the fish weren't where they appeared, but a little to the side. Her hands rested a few centimeters above the water as she stared into the water. The fish began to swim closer to her, as she kept herself still. They didn't fear the creature that apparently meant them no harm, so they no longer darted away from her. Her eyes followed a fish as it came closer from upstream. Her hands darted into the water as the fish came within striking distance. Of course, the fish darted to the side and Dewpaw fell face first into the water.

Savith brought a hand up to stay the snorting laughing as Dew went face first into the stream. He composed himself, mind pulling himself up into the air to hover, hawk-like, above Dew. **You alright,** he questioned, mind seeming to grow cold and sharp in his efforts to keep the laughter from bubbling into his send.

Dewpaw surfaced sputtering as she tried to catch her breath. The current pulled her slightly downriver before she managed to get herself back to the shallow water and good footing. *Good* she sent, knowing she wouldn't be able to speak yet as she swallowed a little more water and tried to catch her breath.

**Good,** Savith remarked back, remaining aloft above the younger elfess, just in case. He kept his next thoughtt o himself, however, even as his hawk-sharp eyes sought out the next fish in the shallows. And yet, even as he fought to squash the thought, another wormed its way in.
