Oscar wriggled to get away from the tomcat, his eyes wide in a comical fashion. He didn't like to have things licking his head.
"Stop it! You're getting spit on me!"

Moon laughed, and gave Oscar a sound pat as she went past.
"See? Now you guys friends!" She grinned and, pickup up Amber, turned to the living room. "I'm turning on the TV!" She called.

((sorry this took me so long hun crying ! I'v been busy / bleh))

Ragtag chuckled softly "thats it baby go and sleep with your mommy" he smirks sitting down and cleaning himself now, washing his face "you know kid you should listen to me I know more than you probably ever will I'm, not exactly of the mortal guise if you couldn't tell." he chuckled in a quiet hissing manner his deep red eyes peircing the tiny kittens "be good and you won't feel my wrath okay?" he raised a brow then, a threat, his first and last unless this kitten pushed him to drastic measures.

((It's ok!))

"Oh? Well that just makes my heart go out to you, you poor poor thing." Oscar spat sarcastically, his ears twitching irritatedly. He puffed up his fur and took a step toward Ragtag. "I don't much care for your threats. I do have ways, y'know!" He hissed, and then turned tail and stalked away angrily.

"Huh. Wonder what's with him..." Moon muttered as she peeked from her spot on the couch.

Ragtag snikkered softly "ah melodtramatic kitty, the last cat that annoyed me is here" he points at his tail with a claw "of course I'm not usually a killer of my own kind but if they annoy me enough well, my coat could always do with one more colour" He smirks softly staling in to the livingroom and sitting on the rug with his claws hidden beneath him. His deep ruby red eyes laughed softly, that would hopefully make the kitten a but more amiable. In truth ragtag hated to kill, unless it was for revenge, he had made sure a few humans had gone the way of the ice age if they drowned kittens "come here kid let me tell you a story" his tail lashed and he waited, few ever refused one of his tales.

Oscar pinned his creamy ears, but he did so love a nice story. So hesitantly, he turned around.
"What kinda story?" He prodded.

"It's a special story about cats and humans and dreaming." he paused for a moment cleaning his face, he liked to hold a pause and let his audience wait for him "maybe you're a little young but would you like to hear it?" he smiled a strange ragged grin and for the first time oscar would probably realise that the cat wasn't talking the way normal cats did, and the question of how he ate through his sown up mouth would probably bear many questions and a little more than simple facination. Still, he waited, he wanted a definatel yes from the kitten, it was an important story after all, if the little cat would beleive it which many did not.

Oscar's pride soared up far beyond most creatures. It hit him like a battering ram that if he said yes... He turned this way and that inside his mind, looking for a way out of the trap. But he couldn't find one. Slowly, stiffly, he bobbed his cream head once.

It suddenly came to his attention that Ragtag's muzzle was, in fact, stranger than he had first credited it to be. Stitches held the jaw to the top of the muzzle, and it sent shivers down the kitten's spine every time it the stitches stretched.

The multicoloured male smirked quietly, would this babe beleive? probably not, still, he would tell it another cat dreaming would do the world no harm and he had promised ehr all those years ago that he would tell the tale to any cat whom he came upon. He cleared his throat and lashed his tail once, then once again before finally he spoke in that strange eerie way.

"I will tell you a tale of a shecat I once met, she was beautiful, sleek and even my powers could not win her over (you will understand when you are older about wooing femmes I am sure), though I would quite happily have loved her for a day and a night. She spoke of her kittens, of how they were drowned. I listend and hissed at the thought, I knew all too well that many of my own spawn went that way and i had long since planned vengence upon the humans whom took those lives of innocence. A few infact had sufferd my wrath, but we shall not go in to that.

She spoke to me of travelling through the world of dreams, of the torture of travelling the woods between the worlds, of hearing her children calling to her as she tried to cling to the path, knowing that if she strayed she would forever be lost in the dreaming. Sher came at last after what seemed like an eternity, her paws sore and bloody to the castle of the king of dreaming and he spoke to her. "Why are you here little cat" he asked and she begged of him to tell her why humans do what they do, why they drown our young, why they hurt us so. She wished to know if she could change it and the king of all the dreamers told her this : -

Many years ago, or it may have been yeasturday, all cats were giants, and they hunted humans and every other beast and the humans to keep them happy, groomed them and braught them sacrificesand things were well. Until a human came along and he spoke to them in voices and tongues, and convinced them of another way. The human said that if they all dreamed the same thing, it would be so. And so a thousand humans, just a thousand slept that night and dreamed and the next day, things had changed, cats were smalla nd prety to everything, cars, dogs, humans. The she cat spoke to him then, spoke to the one with the eyes of stars and she asked how could she change it and he said simply, if a thousand cats dream a mere thousand dream for one night that the world is how you wish it, it shall be. She started to travel then, spreading her message. She may still travel the world spreading her word, she may still be alive, though this was a score or more years ago and I still dream, when I sleep, when I convince my parts that I require a dream, I sleep and dream of the day we will rule again.

The male licked his lips once,w atching, waiting to see how the young one would react, he often wondered would a thousand cats ever dream in unison, he doubted it, still maybe one day they would rule again, maybe one day.

((Just have to write this XD!! enjoy!

this story is (c) Neil gaiman and has been killed by me and roughly pillaged from a sandman graffic novel. I did not write it and will never claim I did thankyou ^-^!))

((Lol, that's awesome! xD))

Oscar stared in half awe at the big stray. Never had he considered that cats could have ever been on top, been the rules, been the kings, ever. He just didn't think that way, and it made him wonder. A thousand cats, one dream. Unified. Was it possible?
"A thousand cats...?" He said, wonderingly. "Is it... possible?"

Then Oscar tipped his halo backward slightly.
"I havva story too." He announced, sitting comfortably on the floor. Oscar was a wonderful storyteller. He had learned to hone his ability to weave and spin a single thought into a full story as he went to perfection.

"There was once a time, long ago, when the goddess Poison grew lonely. It was all there was - the ink black sky, the pinpricks of light that broke through the cover of night as stars. And then, there were the creatures she had made. The cats, they had grown greedy, deceitful, hateful, and she couldn't stand it. So she decided, she had to do something. So she took a piece of the velvet night, and a single star and carved a hole into the center. With the velvet, she draped it across a banister that held the sky, and slowly molded it into the form of a cat. Then she took the star, and placed it gently atop its head. With pieces of grass, she molded wings and gave those, too to the cat. She called him Wingfarl, the Angel.

"She sent Wingfarl down to earth as her messenger, and her son. The Angel's halo glittered like a thousand stars from the sky put together, and his wings were strong and fine. His heart was peaceful, and as he came down to earth, a great cover of serenity entombed the cats that Poison had made. They stopped fighting, stopped slashing, stopped chasing the rats. They stopped, and as one, they turned their heads toward the darkened heavens, sprinkled with the slight light of the stars. And together, they all muttered a single word: 'Angel.'

"After that, Wingfarl took his place among the cats. He spread peace through the ranks of the cats, took all their evil and dispensed it elsewhere. And gradually, the cats calmed. There were no more streetfights, and no more polluting yowls of injured cats, braying their hurt to the sky and their goddess. And so, Wingfarl became a cat, accepted for his bravery, and his strange halo and fanning wings forgotton. And he, too, forgot his mother and creator, Poison.

"When one day, a big and burly cat came to challenge Wingfarl's authority. He said as thus: 'Why, cats, do we follow the Angel. The one that Poison has sent us from above? He is nought but cat. We see his ring, we see his wings. But we do not see why. Why? How is it that we know he speaks truth? How is it that we know of his bravery? Why, then, do we follow him, the Angel?'

"This turned many of the cats against the heavenly being, the Angel. Many were still loyal to him, but the tides were turning. Gradually, more and more became restless to challenge Wingfarl, for they were eager. Not all of them enjoyed staring up at the heavens meaninglessly, to pray to Poison. Not one bit. They were tough and ragged. Streetfighters, all. And it was their right to challenge the Angel.

"But Wingfarl had the heart. He was not one to back down. He needed his authority. He would not fail Poison - the goddess who lived at the back of his mind. So he asked thus: 'What, my friends, what must I do to prove my love for you?' He cried out to the masses of cats gathered there in front of him.

"'To help us get some magic!' The big cat, rogue leader, yelled up at him. 'Magic, aye. Fly to the heavens on your wings, Angel, and bring us back a piece of Poison's sky, and one of her flaming stars.'

"Now, all knew how Poison kept her sky and her stars. They were hers, and hers alone. She wouldn't let even her own Wingfarl, her Angel, rip a piece for his cats. The Angel knew so, and a frown creased his brow. But he was determined to show his authority, see, and he said he would do it.

"The next moon, he prepared his great wings for his ascent to the heavens. Poison was a light sleeper, and barely did at all. All cats knew so from his peaceful teachings, and those still loyal to him feared for him much. But he would not back down.

"With a flutter, Wingfarl's wings caught up the wind current, the Heaven's Tide, and it carried him up to the sky. Poison was nowhere to be seen. The flames she had lit around her sky had long since been extingiushed, and the Angel crept up to the stars and the velvet blackness that shrouded the earth. With his paws, he gripped a single, flaming star, and with his teeth, and tore off the smallest piece of velvet, and plunged back down to earth.

"Now, Poison was mad. Her own Angel. Her own creation. He had betrayed her. Her cats, loyal only to the Angel now, had done so too. And so, hatred and anger consuming her, the great goddess created another cat. With the sky, the soil, and crumbs of stars, Poison created a cat, his tail spiked, his wings slender and sleek, his halo a pair of horns, the shards of stars barely glowing the the brightest of all light, adorned on his head. She called him Ziltch, the Black Demon, and sent him down to earth to wreak havoc on all that his enemy, Wingfarl had achieved.

"When the gloom spread over his cats, and those who were only barely loyal to Wingfarl turned on each other, tearing and biting like there was no tomorrer, the Angel's hopes deserted him. The black cat, Ziltch, wrought anger and hate into the hearts of all that were too weak to defend it, and the world was all in a gloom once again.

"Ziltch sought out Wingfarl, and together, they battled high in the sky, shrouded by angry mists. Demon against Angel, they clashed and broke free, each fighting for a purpose of their own. One for their devotion to a single powerful god, and the other for the love of all cats. Poison watched in horror at the danger she had brought upon her beloved Angel, and all her precious cats. She reached out a mighty talon, and hooked Ziltch by the ear, flinging him down to earth so hard he traveled far below the land, and took refuge there.

"But the cats still could not rid themselves of the hatred and contempt and greed that the Demon had spread, for it had lodged into the center of their hearts. Their catfights, and rat chasing was heard for all around."

Oscar stopped, and licked his nose. That story had not been his best effort, but the stray was not one he would often let out one of his stories for, he was sure.

Ragtag smiled lightly "Thats very good little tom" he smiled from behind those lips, his tongus flicking out for a moment "Oh yes, you must realise that it is true, of course asking a thousand cats to do anything in unison is almost impossible. She knew that even though she travelled until she died of old age, preaching her message. i tell it every so often, of course not many acctually listen, then, who knows, perhaps one day we will rule again" he went silent then cleaning his face. the little toms story was very good, he had much enjoyed it, still he wondered would oscar dream the cats dream or was he loyal to the human condition? Time would tell, he was sure of that.
