So. I've been continually trying to make new habits for myself over the past 3 months. Cases in point: Twitter more, Draw at least once a day, remember to brush teeth twice a day, curse less, SLEEP, etc. Just a few examples.
I've also been trying to get rid of bad habits like procrastination and staying on the computer too long.
dfndjnas.
they're so hard things to do apparently. You skip one day, and then you think later when you've finished a week of doing the habit, its okay to skip another day. Skipping one day turns into skipping days into skipping weeks.
Last time I drew in my sketchbook was maybe last week. Only one of my new habits have I managed to keep completely which bugs me.
Trying to fufill some of the new habits requires getting rid of the old ones. My subconcious however, refuses to lighten on computer time in order to do things like draw, so they wind up being done at like 12:00 at night and take away from my beloved sleeping time. Making me cranky.
And the weird thing? The computer is getting boring for me, so you'd think I'd stay off it. WRONG. I find myself sitting and refreshing pages for new info or get wrapped up in a flash game for an hour or two. The Sniped D is a bookmark for me which I click too often, despite the fact that there's only a new post every hour or two.
...

Hirun Hikari And the weird thing? The computer is getting boring for me, so you'd think I'd stay off it. WRONG. The Sniped D is a bookmark for me which I click too often, despite the fact that there's only a new post every hour or two. Do you know how long that has happened to me? I've been bored of the computer since highschool has ended. Seriously. All I do is download MMO's every day (you wouldn't believe how many games I've downloaded and then deleted the same day. Let's just say I'm more than half way done with all the games on MMOsite.com), refresh pages that I know for a fact wont update, and check my email, which I never get.
I want to draw more, I want to read more, I want to finish my journal. But the thing is I have no motivation, I need someone to do this with me, or compete with me. Like a drawing war, that would surely make me motivated.
But I guess the good news is that I have slowly started getting away from procrastination. Because when I'm bored, my mind just gets up and starts doing homework. But still, I need something to motivate me.

The question is where can we find it. xD
I used to have a competitive side to me when people would do something like finish an assignment or draw, I would try so much to do better than them.....where did that motivation go. xD
Can't we open up the art shop again!!! xDD *Felt so sad removing the image from my sig.*

Hirun, did you know that if you do something for 21 days in a row it becomes a habit? biggrin That little bit of info might help you.

I try and start gradually. Like I'm trying to draw more but not force it. And I'm trying to journal and write more, and I'm starting to do that too. I have a lot of unfinished works in progress, but as long as I keep going back to them I consider it a success.
Point in case: Start GRADUAL. And a few things at a time. That way if you keep up with them at all you'll feel really good about yourself instead of just stressed about forgetting or whatever.
Start out with trying to do things once or twice a week and build up. :3
