Amber quit watching the wolves; if they found her mind to their liking, they knew where to find her. She wasn't upet or anything, just nervous and she didn't want to intimidate the wolves into deciding on her. That would be wrong. She smiled and looked up to the sky, watching the clouds for a moment. Some would call her an air-head, others overly thoughtful...Amber thought she was somewhere in the middle. Something caught her attention and caused her to look in front of her, coming face to face, eye to eye with the orange male (that is correct, right?). He sniffed her, then turned away and looked at the next humans. That one was quite peculiar. If Amber was mistaken, she thought that he had quite the ego, not to mention he was much bolder than his siblings. He would make an excellent alpha one day.
Would I want my wolf to become an alpha? Amber asked herself a moment. She didn't mind if her wolf wanted to be higher ranked; that was the wolf's choice, but she didn't want a wolf that was too proud of himself. She sighed, if Billy had joined the recruits, he would probably have bonded well with the bold, orange one. A smiled appeared on her face as she thought about him coming to the Academy and bonding with a wolf. He had potential...but he didn't see it.
Stop thinking about that! You need to focus! Get him out of your mind! This is your life now and if you screw it up, you're doomed to working in the mines. Amber shuddered at the idea of working in the mines...she hated them for what had happened to her father. During the nights, her mind was plagued by visions of being trapped within the mines, cave-ins, or getting stuck between the rocks. She'd worked too hard to get here and she wasn't about to lose it. She watched the wolves again and seen the black and orange had found her bond. Amber smiled, glad that the wolf had found her bond. She noticed the shy black and white male had found his bond too. Amber's smile became brighter, feeling the excitment in the air as the wolves yipped and howled at finding their bonds. It was contagious. Amber had a sudden urge to run and play with the wolves, but she knew that would get her killed. Her muscles felt strangely empowered with new energy. This usually happened when she was excited by situations like this. Children, pups, and random acts of playfulness often made her want to play along with them. Did that sound strange of her to be like that?
Amber's eyes trailed off to the white and black female, who seemed keen on getting reassurance. It was so cute to see them like that. She pitied the white female, understanding her fear. Amber pulled her eyes from the wolf and stared straight ahead of her again. Her sudden energy gone, she began to shiver again. Stupid cold weather...

Yaz continued to hang in the back of the group her eyes watching the wolves with curiosity and awe. The first energetic pup was just so adorable, and much to energetic for her to keep up with. Stifling her giggle when the small bundle of fur lost his balance for a moment. She continued to watch the line of pups eagerly hoping for one more colorful, her eyes falling instantly onto the two female's as they emerged. Inwardly wondering if the girls would even make it to her, and if they did would they pass her without a thought to bonding? Pulling her hands into the sleeve of her jacket, Yazmako continued to watch the line of the cave, hoping wondering if she would have the chance at one of these beautiful pups.
Letting out a long breath she watched as the fog of her breath spilled from her mouth. Her blue eyes only darting up again as two males emerged from the cave, her breath catching in her chest as her eyes fell upon the second male to emerge from the cave. He was absolutely gorgeous and his bark sounded to strong, Yaz had to really control herself not to move forward to run her fingers through his fur. Her eyes followed as he ran right by her, hopes plummeting as he had done so. She hadn't even noticed the final pup emerge from the cave.
The yowl from the white female broke Yazmako's trance pulling her back to the task at hand, her eye's pulling to the side to see the source. It seemed the black female had managed to bond, one down, that left her only four more chances. Make that three, the small pup she hadn't noticed earlier was now hiding his nose in another recruit. Lowering her head she sighed deeply, this was karma. This was something she deserved, something she was cursed for due to her cold nature.

Shaking Cassadaine reached out a hesitant hand to rest it on the shivering pup's head. A soft whining came from the pup and Cassadaine shook the last of the haze from her mind. A name...a name to seal the little pup as her bonded. "A name...a strong name..." she murmured finding herself pinned by wide golden eyes. A storm of emotions...Blinking she drew in a breath hearing another singsong whining that seemed to be the pup's voice. A storm and a song... A smile crossed her face as she rocked back on her heels to steady herself. "Stormsong." The name made her smile again and she nodded to herself seeing the quaking that ran through the pup slowly stilling. A song of storms.
Twilight didn't even huff as she felt the male's tail settle over her back, she was both too tired and too used to it to even bother anymore. "Its hard seeing them go but...some of them will be around the fort so I suppose I can live with that." Shrugging while stifling a yawn, the black wolf gave a slight smile watching the pups who had found their bonded. The humans would be good to the pups, they had better be if they didn't they would have her to deal with. Yawning again, she snorted shaking her head at the story. "Ah, I was the opposite, completely awake and ended up in a staring contest with Alister from the beginning." chuckling softly she stretched flicking her tail, eyes on the recruits and pups.
"Maybe. Should I still want to skin him?" Tilting his head in Calla's direction, Alister's gaze flicked toward her for a moment before he settled back to watching the hopeful recruits and those that had already found their bonded. "Possibly, I never did keep track of just who bonded when I did." A half truth really considering he had kept track of a few people that had bonded in the same season he had. People that had either ended up in that mad house that was New Eve or died over the years one way or the other. Such thoughts however, were better left for another time.

Continuing on his little romp, the black-fotted orange male was simply so curious and interested in all these new humans. Something tugged at him within his mind, but he ignored the empty feeling as best as he could, still wanting to play. Passing by every recruit, the pup only gave each a short sniff before moving along.
The second male glanced at his brother briefly as the more confident pup passed him by. With a soft whimper, the remaining black and snow white male sat down between Eustace and Yazmako, slightly disoriented by the sudden feeling of hopeless loneliness that had invaded his mind.
But the remaining female, gently nudged forward by her father, gained a spark of confidence from the reassurance. A last quiet whimper, and she walked forward slowly towards the humans again. Her snow white fur nearly blended into the snow if not for the black points. A surge of happiness filtered into her mind and the pup lifted her head curiously at the unfamiliar sensation. Her mind reached out for the one that had called to her, and she found Amber*. With a soft relieved bark, she trotted quickly to her bondmate.

Amber began to shiver a little more, using every curse she knew under the sun, to damn the weather. Of all places to build the city it had to be here! She held herself to keep warm...and found her mind wandering off again. No, stop that! No more thinking! She didn't want to think about Billy, home, or anything else. She had to focus where she was and live in the present, not the past. Closing her eyes, she began to think of a song, gently singing it in her mind. Amber opened her eyes when she heard thumps run past her, opening them just in time to see the orange pup run past again. Sheesh...he would be quite the handful. Amber looked down at the snow, wondering who would be the lucky one to handle him. He was filled with energy.
Just then, the other black and white male whimpered. Amber's gaze turned toward him. Pity went towards the poor thing. He was adorable, but he looked so sad that her heart ached to help him. If she could, Amber would have tried to help him in some way. Perhaps he was just upset about watching his siblings bonding, especially his brother. Perhaps. Perhaps not. Amber smiled and turned to look in front of her just as a big white thing came towards her. She jumped upon sight of it, but relaxed just as quickly when she realized it was the other female. There was a sudden connection in her mind and she felt a pressure in her head...like someone was looking around in it. It felt strange, but, before she could decided if it was an intrusion to her thoughts, she realized that she'd just bonded with the wolf. Amber smiled, and couldn't help but laugh happily. She held out her hand to the wolf with a bright smile.
"Hello, dear..." A name...this wolf was her's now, but what to call her. Her heart skipped a beat as a name ran though her mind. "CelestialSong..." It was perfect for her. The black of her paws matched the night sky, the white of her fur matched the white stars in the sky, and, of course, the star below her left eye made it all the more fitting.

Eustace stared intently at the pup that had taken his place between herself and another recruit. While her better judgement told her he would bond with the other, at this moment, bonding was what she wanted more than anything. She was too afraid, too nervous to move. Moving would be quite possibly the most stupid thing she could do at this point. If he wasn't to bond with her, who knows how he would have reacted if she tried to pet him or any such thing! That, and his mother, father, and their bonded were here. A cold sweat formed on her forehead and she clenched her hands even tighter together.
Eustace turned to Yazmako and smiled the most pleasant smile she could in theses circumstances. 'M-must be trying to bond with her.' With all her will power, she tried not to look at either of them. 'Better not do anything to interfere.' While being happy for all those who bonded, she couldn't help but feel so sorry for herself. There was still time, though, still two or three more years before she had to drop out. But even after all that doubt clouding her mind, there was that selfish hope tugging at the back of her mind.
The first female, the confident one, had bonded with Jashua. The second, nearly all white one, had bonded with Amber. The first male was darting around the crowd, sniffing at people, but still not bonding. 'Could it be that you won't bond this year either?' She asked, knowing that he couldn't hear her. The thought was absurd. Eustace had never heard of any wolf not bonding. And this one, so charismatic, would definately bond. The second male, nudged directly between her and another, had certainly bonded with the person next to her. There was that hope again, but it seemed so futile. The final male, the incredibly timid one, had bonded with Cassadaine.
The nervousness was gone from Eustace now, replaced by only the thought of the wolves' well being. If they were to go with anyone, it should definately be with someone more responsible, someone who could take care of them like their mother had. Eustace had never known her own, but that dark wolf sitting near the entrance of the cave gave her a good idea of what it should be like. She had an air about her, that Twilight. As did WoodWhisp, the father. They looked at their children with a prideful, protective gaze. 'If I bond,' She thought determinedly. 'Then I promise I won't let you down.'

List: M3, M2, M1, F2, F1 I hope this is not to late, I can't post on the weekdays since I live in school dorms with no computers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aspen heard the whimpers and despite himself he looked toward the mouth of the cave and watched as the pups came out, he held himself in check not moving an inch to stroke the puppies despite the want to do it, and when the last wolf came out he finally smiled and watched them bound and look for what they were missing. Slowly they seemed to pair off and Aspen sighed knowing he was likely to late to get a pup as none seemed to even look his way. It hurt a bit more then he would have ever thought, but he refused to show it and kept his mind open and as clear of unwelcome feelings as he could. He tried to send only warmth and kindness out but felt a bit nervous, still he mentally shrugged it off and held still per earlier orders even as some of the recruits moved when it seemed the little wolves bonded with them.
If he did not find a pup this time then there was none that was able to fit him and he would search for him or her again at a later date but he was already nineteen and this was his first bonding. Wondering if this would work he whistled in his mind as loud and clear as he could picture it, the pups if any were open to hi would likely be able to hear him but if not well then he hoped that the recruits who bonded would raise the wolves right not just treat them as some sort of pet. Again he tried to visualize his mind opening and he called out to the remaining puppies softly and warmly as if to call to a wounded animal who was scared. ‘Come on pups, perk up and keep looking.’ He would not ask them to bond with him only not to give up and keep looking through those who were left, he included of course but that was beside the point.
As time passed he felt his muscles start to crap begging him to move but he knew if he did it would be over not only now but forever unless the mother wolf held pity for him but he doubted that as she would be unable to speak in his mind unless he was bonded, so would not sense he held no ill-intent towards her children; and with the added effect of the teacher’s wolves and of course the teacher himself he would likely be unable to get away with his throat still whole. His blond hair fell in front of his eyes causing him to frown and blow it out of the way but to no effect as it seemed to only block his view even more, dreading what he was about to do, he tilted his head to the side very slowly until his hair all fell off to the side and once more he could see around him. The pups were all beautiful, anyone of them he would love but he was searching for a kind that would need him. The last wolf to had come out caught his attention the most, such a sweet and quiet thing with the perfect temperament he sought after.
He wanted to raise a wolf no one thought would do well, to help him or her be perfect and the best wolf he or she could be and more. It would take time and training but it would be well worth it to watch as a small bundle turned to a large and strong wolf anyone would love to have; most of all Aspen hopped for a friend one that would not judge him by his outward emotions but the ones that circulate through his mind for only him to feel and secretly hold dear. Now he looked as if he did not care, his back straight and face blank and his arms were folded behind his back hands clasped lightly. Inside he was trembling to reach out and touch the soft but course fur of the puppies; he had never before touched a wolf unwilling to touch someone else’s even after permission was give. He was scared that his first bonding would fail and so would many after because he was not good enough, and that in the end he would fail his father’s wishes.
Those thoughts and emotions were never shown to anyone, he did not trust them not to use them for leverage for weak emotions and thoughts were like a poison. He took a deep breath, outside he still looked calm and at attention, but inside he was wishing anything that one of these pups would be his match.

The uncertainty bubbling over in his mind had slowly died down, and the remaining black and white male could finally pinpoint what was hidden in the depths of this particular mind. And then he heard it, such a strong and determined statement that echoed in his own mind - he couldn't understand the exact words (yet), but he knew that she would be a strong one. With a happy yip, the male pup trotted towards Eustace* and reached forth to touch the girl's mind, forging the bond that would become his lifeline.
Something had changed in the air, and the orange male stopped with his prancing to glance around. He suddenly realized that all his littermates had bonded, leaving him alone in his play. Slightly disappointed, the pup cried reluctantly and sniffed the air rather dramatically. His mind reached out with any direction, glancing through every recruit when he finally found one that appealed to him. Instantly he sprinted towards Aspen*, feeling the boy's fear and wanting to reassure his human. Reaching his new bondmate, the young male brushed his fur against Aspen's side, growling affectionately as he claimed the boy as his.

(Haha I shouted when I saw this, it's 11:42 Pm here and I now think I woke my step dad. I truly did not think the little orange male would pick Aspen but I am so glad! :edited Changed name!!) Aspen was already listing the books he would read again to better himself for next time, and the exercises he would do as well that possibly he had failed at something he didn’t know. If that were the case he would work on everything, it was unhealthy to do these sorts of things with such a set and straight forward mind; but he was raised for it and he felt as if he would drown should he try to do anything else. Suddenly the little orange male who was the first to leave the den bounded toward him, at first Aspen thought the little male would soon bound off to go play not bounding with him or any of the others but the brush of fur against his pant legs and the happy growling sounds had his heart lurching as he felt something warm brush against his mind’s eye kindly and comforting. The orange male had picked him, of all people he had been picked by a wolf who he was so sure would never even look his way.
He was told not to move, he knew with every fiber of his whole being that he was told to stand still not to move forward but as he repeated this to himself he was very aware of the warm furred body beside him. Clenching his jaw he made himself relax before slowly lowering down to his knees and with still and steady hands reached out until his fingers were buried in the wolf pups brightened fur. Despite his hands being steady he felt as if he were shaking like a leaf and soon he could not hold back his smile and to tell the truth he didn’t care nor did he mind if he were to be scolded for moving not when the wolf puppy was there sitting beside him. “Hey there Foxglove.” He simply said that though he pushed forward warmth and affection to the upmost part of his thoughts as he slowly stroked the bright fur and his fingers soon rubbed the ears of the wolf just as gentle and slow as before.
He bonded, to a wolf he would never have thought would be interested in him at all. Feeling a bit bolder he hugged the cub to him feeling the warm soft fur and smelling the clean and free life the wolf lead outside the wall in the short time it had been alive. “I hope I am everything you could want for a bonded human; I promise to try my hardest for you.” He whispered it softly just for the pup to hear and even if he could not yet understand it he said it as a binding to himself and a promise he would keep even if his other did not know he uttered it.

Eustace froze in place. She hadn't been looking at the wolf beside her, but there was a strange feeling in her mind. It wasn't foreign or uncomfortable at all. It was almost as if it had always been there, although the idea was absurd. When this feeling came upon her, Eustace immediately knew what had happened. She slowly turned her head toward the black and white wolf. His voice was already familiar and when he yipped, as if calling for her attention, she looked. A wide, content smile crept onto her face. All worries had since vanished. This wolf was hers. 'LunarFlare...' She thought, embracing the new bond with her entirety. 'That's your name, isn't it?'
Eustace bent down to pet him, nervous despite herself, but she sighed in relief when LunarFlare leaned into the touch. 'I'm Eustace Vinarin.' She pet him more vigorously now. 'Pleased to meet you.' Even without understanding the words, she was assured that the idea would get across to him. She would take care of him from now on, teach him everything she knew how and be eager to learn anything and everything about him. 'LunarFlare,' Eustace thought lovingly. 'Where do I begin?'
